“You actin’ like I insulted ya great ancestors. I only said that Freckle Bitches was superior. I don’t care if they do keep failin’ inspection’.”

“I told the nigga to shut the fuck up ‘bout Shaundi. He didn’t so,” Luke shrugged idly, his expression not changing. “I shot him in the leg. I don’t see what the big deal is.”

This restaurant wasn’t his beloved Freckle Bitch’s but it would do. Whenever he was outside of his city, he stopped in to get a burger, some fries and a milkshake. Usually, that was the end of it. But today, that little lady behind the register had let her opinion on something be known. Gave her advice and he’d initially written it off. But then he’d tried it.
“My life is changed. That lady said put the fries in the milkshake and...man. Why folks been hidin’ this all these years?” he felt like shooting somebody just for that.

Luke really didn’t understand what was happening. For a while, he and the other man had been on the same page. He called, they both came, they went their separate ways. Whenever he was in town, it was perfect. They weren’t a couple, they weren’t about to be a couple and he thought that was fine. But now, this man had an attitude with him and he’d seen it a few times before. Only with other people, never in his own relationships.
“But we agreed I wasn’t your man.” That was the way he wanted it to stay, honestly. “So what’s the problem?”

He wasn’t happy. Not about the fact that he didn’t have anyone left in his own town to intimidate, not about his lieutenants, one of them anyway, wanting to get a clothing brand and not about the fact that he had to hunt down the man in front of him. He thought they had an agreement: when he was in the city, he called at the other man came.
That hadn’t happened and now Luke was frustrated. “So you don’t wanna answer ya phone.” it wasn’t a question, more of an annoyed statement.
