Hello everyone! You probably have seen me e-begging before, as I’ve had a really rough past two years. However things are really not looking good now. While we still are waiting for the biopsy and endoscopy results, I have a tumor in my upper stomach. For the past four months I have been increasingly sick, and can no longer keep down food without my medication. I also lost the job I had finally gotten, because I was missing too much work due to illness.

Right now, every ten days my prescription costs roughly three hundred dollars. My doctor tried to apply to have it covered, but I was rejected because it is only covered for active chemo patients. I am hoping to raise enough for at least the next month, as well as extra for my ongoing bills. The medication is ondansetron, also known as Zofran.

I am nearly out of the most recent prescription of it (which a close friend kindly paid for), and cannot afford to ration it. I have already lost almost thirty pounds in the past two months, and was not heavy to begin with.

Intersex People of Color Only Discord Server

So I’ve decided to finally make this server, a server that’s only for intersex people of color. I’ve decided to do this after having a few… experiences with white intersex people and know that a lot of us feel similar.

This server will be 18+ (sorry, I know this isn’t ideal but I am 21 and feel uncomfortable creating close friendships with minors), inclusive of hyperandrogenic PCOS, and open to POC who are questioning if they are intersex or who do not have a clear formal/professional diagnosis, especially considering the amount of medical trauma/fear some of us might have.

I am also looking for a couple people to help me mod (preferably who are good with bots as I am not). I’ve run intersex servers alone in the past and let me tell you… it has been a lot of pressure, so I would appreciate all and any help even if your capacity isn’t being active constantly!

if i don't make rent for August, which is $700, im going to have to move back in with my abusive mother. she is extremely stingy with her money while also using my money without my permission constantly. my work has bedbugs and she makes me bathe outside in a kiddie pool before i can go into the house. now that my baby brother is getting older and has seen her constantly violate my boundaries whenever i am around, he does the same. he often hits me, pours water on me while i am sleeping, and has taken to touching my inappropriately sometimes. he especially tries to take advantage of me while i am sleeping. he is only ten, but he has an intellectual and developmental disability that makes it hard for him to understand that what he is doing is wrong. i am a repetitive sexual abuse/assault survivor, so this behavior is extremely triggering for me and i can't get him to stop.

if i have to move back in with my mom and brother, i know in my heart that i won't make it. i struggle with mental illness and am both physically and developmentally disabled myself. i can't work more than 18 hours a week and at my job rarely get more than that (usually more like 14 at most unless it's summer camp), and getting a second job isn't on the table for me unless i get an electric wheelchair and find a job that will accept me being a wheelchair user.

i am in 10 thousand dollars debt, not including student loans, and i recently lost my financial aid in school due to my disabilities making me fail multiple classes.

i am so incredibly scared of what my future holds for me and often don't see one for myself at all, but im trying my best to stay positive. if i end up having to move back in with my mom, though, i don't know if i will be able to continue doing that.

Back in the 1960s, a Harvard graduate student made a landmark discovery about the nature of human anger.

At age 34, Jean Briggs traveled above the Arctic Circle and lived out on the tundra for 17 months. There were no roads, no heating systems, no grocery stores. Winter temperatures could easily dip below minus 40 degrees Fahrenheit.

Briggs persuaded an Inuit family to “adopt” her and “try to keep her alive,” as the anthropologist wrote in 1970.

At the time, many Inuit families lived similar to the way their ancestors had for thousands of years. They built igloos in the winter and tents in the summer. “And we ate only what the animals provided, such as fish, seal and caribou,” says Myna Ishulutak, a film producer and language teacher who lived a similar lifestyle as a young girl.

Briggs quickly realized something remarkable was going on in these families: The adults had an extraordinary ability to control their anger.

“They never acted in anger toward me, although they were angry with me an awful lot,” Briggs told the Canadian Broadcasting Corp. in an interview.

Hi im Scooter/ Sunny, Im Black Filipino and Chickasaw and I currently live in a place with no showers, barely any working sink, and mold. This has..severly affected my mental health and wellbeing. I feel incredibly bad about asking for help, but I dont really have a choice at this point :/

My landlord is going to do anything about it.

I am not going to fight for basic necessities so…I am trying to move into a much better home for me and my partner as soon as possible. The place i’ve found is over over what we can afford.

Three First Nations on southern Vancouver Island released a statement today saying they are taking back decision-making responsibilities for their traditional territories.

They have also formally given the British Columbia government notice they want to defer old-growth logging in the Fairy Creek watershed and Central Walbran Valley for two years and have repeated a request for everyone to respect their authority, including people who have been blocking logging and related activity.

“Since time immemorial, Huu-ay-aht Ditidaht and Pacheedaht First Nations have been stewards of the forest, fisheries and all resources within their ḥahahuułi (traditional territories),” said the statement. “For more than 150 years they have watched as others decided what was best for their lands, water and people. This declaration brings this practice to an immediate end.”

Hereditary and elected representatives of the three nations signed the Hišuk ma c̕awak Declaration on Friday saying they would be guided by the sacred principles of ?iisaak (utmost respect), ?uu?ałuk (taking care of) and Hišuk ma c̕awak (everything is connected).

(9 June 2021) You may have heard that the Keystone XL pipeline project, which environmentalist and First Nations protestors have been fighting for years, has been cancelled by developer TC Energy after Biden revoked its permit (in January 2021).

Despite this victory, First Nations/Sioux water protecters High Elk and Jasilyn Charger are still facing criminal charges for protesting the construction of this pipeline. High Elk faces 23 years and Jasilyn faces a year of jail time after their arrest in January 2021.

You can sign a petition to drop the charges against them (dated Jan 2021, updated March 25 2021) here (and watch this space for updates and requests for protesters to attend court dates). There is also a GoFundMe campaign to support Roots Camp (which was set up on the Cheyenne River Sioux Reservation in protest of the Keystone XL Pipeline, and will remain as the pipes are removed) and to help fight the charges against High Elk and Jasilyn (updated 23 January 2021). See here for more ways to help (including joining the camp and donating supplies).

This victory is not a permanent one. The Keystone pipeline has been cancelled and reinstated in the past.

“We know they'll be back, the oil companies," said Harold Frazier, the chairman of the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe in northern South Dakota. "We could have another president just four years from now. So it's kind of a temporary relief.”

As long as the U.S. president has the authority to issue cross-border permits for piplines (such as the permit that Trump issued for Keystone XL), any president (including Biden) could reinstate approval for it without warning. The pipeline was revoked solely on presidential authority and not for any reason that references First Nations sovereignty or the project's illegality. That's why there is currently (as of 2 June 2021) a lawsuit challenging the president's authority to do this.

The Dakota Access Pipeline (DAPL) is not being shut down, having been allowed by the Biden administration to continue running (article dated 21 May 2021).

"It's not about canceling one extractive project or another. It's about ignoring our sovereignty," said Angeline Cheek, an Indigenous justice organizer for the American Civil Liberties Union of Montana, who is from the Fort Peck Reservation.

"Keystone was canceled, but DAPL still exists. What is the logic in that?" Cheek said.

This overturns a decision last year (July 2020) to halt the running of the pipeline pending an environmental review. You can read updates on the Standing Rock Sioux litigation against the pipeline here.

Given the ever-evolving nature of the situation involving these pipelines, it seems irresponsible to share news about Keystone XL's cancellation without history, action items, or things to keep an eye on.
