AUGUST
Tag on her toe
She kept dancing along
With a blade in her stomach
She died to his song
Once had a heart
That was made out of gold
In June that was stolen
By July sheād turned cold
Once had a radiant
Shine in her eyes
Thatās gone, washed away
By the tears that she cried
Once had a smile
That stood out in the crowd
Now that sheās drowning
You canāt make her out
She tried to stay strong
But weeped through the night
So she gave up on fighting
And in August she died

RAIN ALL THE TIME
He looked at me, said
āIt canāt rain all the timeā
But I have been wandering
In rain for a while
Held him for a moment
The next, he was gone
Leaving me longing
And aching for long
Sit there in silence
And stare at the time
Another oneās given
Whatās meant to be mine
Everythingās trivial
In unloving eyes
But thatās not the truth
When part of you dies
Whatās meant that will happen
Or thatās what they say
Whatās meant didnāt do
When you stopped to stay

OBSIDIAN
They say when a black
Cat comes your way
Bad luckās right behind her
To lead you astray
Was minding my pain
When I saw one today
She followed me home
And she came here to stay
Unsettled and restless
She paces at night
She sleeps through the day
Stays clear of the light
Sheās got no name
But obsidian eyes
She keeps staring at me
As I stare at the skies
She speaks only in vowels
But I long to make out
What the sound of her soul
Might be all about
Sheās right at my heel
She wonāt leave me alone
So I called her āLuckyā
And made her my own

HEAVY BUT VOID
No one will hear you
As you gasp for air
Your mind is a cross
They donāt dare to bear
Your heart is a burden
Itās heavy, but void
And hoping is but
A flaw to avoid
And calling to arms
Your rage is adored
As your cries for help
Kept being ignored
Your bridges are burning
Set fire to foes
Heaven ablaze
And thatās how it goes
Youāre withering and wasting
And falling from graze
And love is a lie
You donāt want to chase
Perfect, this world
Youāre the last girl on earth
To stand in a crowd
Unseen and unheard

DAUGHTER IN LAW
Iāve spoken to god
And he told me to hang you
Youāre cursed but too pretty
For me to just do so
All of the anger
And all of the pain
From all of the moments
Of hoping in vain
Left broken and lonely
Most likely forever
Unholy and better
Loathe too late than never
Iām sick of deserving
Their blades in my spine
Cause no one can have love
If I havenāt found mine
Unpleasant and awful
I know and donāt care
Now learn it the hard way
- This life isnāt fair
Said daughter in law
Not pretty nor perfect
Despising their sons
Cause theyāre simply not worth it

EYES MADE OF AMBUSH
Eyes made of ambush
Are making me sin
Counting the marks
He left on my skin
Lurking in shadows
Heās watching me dance
Melting away in
His Rock N Roll hands
Words dripping golden
Like blood from his nose
Leading my way down
The path that he chose
Now Iām turning blind
Heās shining too bright
Heaving me up to
Utopian heights
Begging for something
The sound of his breath
Losing my love
To Heroin death

A PIECE OF MY SOUL
A piece of the sun
On the brim of your chin
With your head in the clouds
And your name made of sin
A piece of the moon
On the skin of your fist
With your blood on the wall
And your grab on my wrist
A piece of the stars
On the tip of your nose
With your fame made of sweat
And your highs made of lows
A piece of the earth
On the pelt of your knee
With your heart in your chest
And your soul split in three
A piece of the dream
On the stone of your end
With your eyes full of tears
Please grab my hand

JOHNNY AND KATE
āNothing tastes as
good as skinny feelsā
She said standing there
In satin and heels
Oh, she was right
And she knew it well
Got him on her side
Thatās how she could tell
And he didnāt mind
Her lack of the sense
That keeps her away
From this dangerous place
Cause she had long lost
The feel of respect
For what seems to be
a danger, suspect
No, for her, that in fact
Seemed pretty much right
And every day
She craved the night
Was searching for love
For freedom and truth
No sleep and the pills
To preserve her youth
And they didnāt see
And he was too high
On her frantic beauty
So close to the sky
Sheād never stop
Itās bottles and knifes
On her nightstand
Oh, what a life!
Hands on her hips
Hands in her thong
And arm in arm
They danced to their song
Oh, how they loved
To see their face
Stare at them wander
In leather and lace
Her pretty long hair
And her lucid dress
All seemed so perfect
Was really a mess
Every single touch
And every nose bleed
It just felt so great
Thought thatās what they need
She sold her body
And maybe her soul
But she got his heart
And reached every goal
But what is the moral
Of such a tale
Blessing or curse
Quite a thin scale

HEROIN CHIC HERO
Her stomach is empty
Her heart is so full
Heroin chic hero
The verge of control
Sleeps through the day
And lives through the night
His mouth on her hips
Her beauty - a slight
Sheās been adored
Been followed and caught
She deals with the devil
The way sheās been taught
Him and her both
They laugh at his face
Tiny white lines
To keep up the pace
Words full of love
As pale as her skin
With his hair in her hands
And his hands on her chin
Calvin Klein jeans
Her clothes on the floor
His drugs in her veins
And his spine as her shore
The touch of his hands
Her face on the screen
Dirty the floor
And pretty the scene
His moral is gone
And with it her fear
The taste of his sin
Sheās heaven so near

LURKING
There is this scary part of me
That strikes me to be as dark as can be
It lurks in the shadows of anger and doubt
Frustration and sadness, whatever about
It lurks in the corner of my room at night
When my scary thoughts start choking me tight
It lurks in the sound of the church bell at noon
Iām scared it will find itās way to me soon
I know it exists, I did for some time
But hell, thatās the problem of others, not mine
Was a demon that had no name and no face
I might have to realize it has won the chase
Iām scared of the power it holds when it starts
When it almost makes me smash glasses to shards
When it dares me to hurt what is pretty and neat
It shakes me and breaks me, torn apart at the seams
All I ever wanted was to have control
Too much control always takes itās toll
Too much of whatever, it never ends well
Really just another of those stories to tell
How do you control what you canāt even see?
Canāt even grab, canāt make out to be?
How do you fight an urge thatās so strong?
And deal with the fact that you know it is wrong?
I hate the way my mind turns every thought
To overwhelming fear that can not be fought
I hate the way my heart starts to race
When I am forced to look my demons in their ugly face
To be stuck in a brain that works as it does
Will forever be hard, it always has
I wish I could cut my head open and get
It out and go hide it so it never comes back
I guess that is not an option for me
Or anyone else who knows how it feels
I guess we just have to face what we fear most
The demon has chosen our mindās as itās host

CANDY COTTON BABYGIRL
Candy Cotton Babygirl
With eyes so blue and skin so neat
Fell through a hole so dark and deep
Landed hard, started to weep
Was on her way to wonderland
A path so clear, but set in ice
The sun came up to guide her through
She stared too long and went so blind
The sun came up and melted off
The shallow surface of her mask
She lost her sight to false advice
False idols then took over fast

COURTNEY
oh how she stares
with her baby blue eyes
the way that she loves
with her heart made of ice
oh how she cries
when she lies wide awake
cause the darkest of night
her brightest of day
oh how she laughs
when she hears them talk
lips red as blood
and skin white as chalk
oh how she smiles
when she feels the pain
of her golden needle
up in her vein
oh how she screams
from love and from hate
been there, done that
seen pistols and blades
oh how she talks
when no one can hear
her wretched lies
are your truth so near

LOOK WHAT HAPPENED
Look what happened
Look what you did
What she has become
And how she canāt quit
Look what happened
Look at her now
Itās your fault alone
And they know you know
Look what happened
Look at her eyes
As tired as yours
And black as the night
Look what happened
Look at her skin
Marked by your love
And as paperthin
Look what happened
Look at her ribs
They know that you count them
And then grab her hips
Look what happened
Look at her sheets
Stained with your blood
And the pain that she needs
Look what happened
Look at her dance
By the window in moonlight
And her shaking hands
Look what happened
Look at her face
When her lips touch yours
And you raise the pace
Look what happened
Look at her chest
As she gasps for air
And you go into depths
Look what happened
Look at her tears
When you lose control
And do what she fears
Look what happened
Look at her scream
For someone to help
And to end this dream
Look what happened
Look at her pain
When she holds your head
And punctures her vein
Look what happened
Look at you both
She suddenly stumbled
And then swore your oath
Look what happened
Look at your love
Itās burning like hell
But you rose above

WHITE
Hands on my hips
Hands in my thong
Hands in my hair
Dance to your song
Lips on my hair
Lips on my mouth
Lips on my neck
Keep going south
Sex in your bed
Sex in your car
Sex on itās trunk
Minds gone so far
White on my arm
White on my cheek
White on your brain
The taste that you need
Love in your hands
Love in your heart
Love in your veins
Tears you apart
Tears in your voice
Tears in my face
Tears in the rain
Youāre a lost case

ISSUES
I met a man
And did not expect
That meeting this man
Would have such effect
The man that I met
Of my fatherās age
Might be who could free
Me from my cage
We started to talk
And talked for some time
Hours of talking
These hours are mine
He wanted to know
āBout my place in life
Then started to talk
āBout kids and his wife
He listened to my
Words as I spoke
While taking a break
To light up a smoke
Softly inhaled
Grey as his hair
Rough as his hands
Intense as his stare
Coffee and milk
The smile on his face
The lines on his skin
That Iād love to trace
Each time heāll ask
If I have been fine
Iāll lie every time
Cause heāll never be mine
