SYNOPSIS let it go. if it comes back to you, it's yours to keep. NOTES not proofread WC 0.5k
to yunjin, you are like the moon.
you pull the tides in. just like how you pulled her in.
yunjin is like the ocean.
she lets herself be lost in you, to let you pull her in.
you draw her in time and time again throughout your relationship, like the moon does so to the ocean. high tide came and went, eventually bringing in the low tide. you two stuck together through the good and the bad, through the darkest nights — but ultimately, your magnetic personality is what drew you apart.
but you were not as simple as the moon and the tide.
no, you two had been pulled apart like a child who refused to part with her mother on her first day of school. because loving someone else is nothing when you can't even love yourself.
so she set you free. she set you free as if you were a caged bird who dreamed of flight — yunjin let you go. her kiss, your cheek — yunjin watched you leave with bated breath, with unshed tears pooling at her lashline, spending every night hoping, praying that you will find your way back. that one day she'll find you smiling at her at the edge of the shore with that smile. the smile that made yunjin fall in love with you, because oddly enough, your departure never felt as final as it shouldve.
because you're young and stupid, and when you're young, you just run from everything. when you're young, you're just a coward.
but in silent screams, and wildest dreams, the question still remains: do you remember me?
and despite it never being spoken, your answer would always be: i'll never forget you as long as i live. from your brown eyes to the way your voice sounded when you told me you loved me.
yunjin wondered how you may have cried about it, endlessly, in the dark of the night with your lights dimmed and your curtains drawn closed as to hide in shame from the unforgiving light of the moon. you may have thought that she led you on or that she had never cared — because when you said "i love you", she gave you nothing back, leaving you hoping that the memories of what once was follow her around. but you never hated yunjin, you couldn't bring yourself to — but you knew she definitely thought you did.
but the story always goes; if you love someone, set them free. if they come back — it's yours. if they don't, they never were. and you found your way back, weaselling your way back into the girl's life until she realised that you were back. that she would finally be here to stay — so that she'll never doubt that she loves you. now, shell shout it from the rooftops, so loud that not even the harsh wind will drown out her words.
because like the moon and the ocean, you would forever find yourselves pulled in by the other.
those same hands that had once set you free now held you in a way that would leave a permanent mark — one that finally assured you that she was forever here.
