october 31, 2022 - i like it, i’m 25
happy halloween and happy birthday to me~ 🎃🎂🎉💕✨
i’m in my mid-twenties. over 20 and under 30. the quarter-life crisis. 😅 although i try my best to get through every day, and i often feel like i’m falling behind, i think i’m right where i’m supposed to be. i know my worth and i know what i like. i deserve good things and i want to share them with others. i know myself a little better now, and i’m still learning.
“i got this. i’m truly fine.”
as always, thank you all for being here and supporting me! much love <3

3rd September, 2022
August went by so fast. I am always repeating myself but it's a fact. I learned so much. I spent so much time with family and friends. I got to travel to Paris and discover some small towns in Germany. I found new motivation to study again. And I grew on a personal level. I'm looking forward to September.

Welcome back to another autumn mini reading challenge! Like last year, this is a shorter one to bridge the gap between our longer summer and winter challenges 🍂
RULES:  → reblog this post if you're participating → the challenge officially starts on october 1st and ends with november 30th, but you’re welcome to finish it at your own pace → use the tag #studyblr w/knives reading challenge when you post your updates/pics → the challenge is ofc, as usual, also on storygraph (check the notes for the link)
once you’ve read a book that fits a prompt, cross it out on the above template and/or share your thoughts on it in a post here on tumblr; make sure to mark any spoilers (hide them under a cut etc.), so people can avoid them if needed :) you can also have just one post and update it as you go, or you can post good ol’ aesthetic book pics!
as always, if you have any questions, my asks are open 🍂
(our book recs for this challenge are below the cut)
Tumblr media
Since this is a mini reading challenge, there won't be separate book rec posts, but we still compiled a couple good reads for you, just in case you can't think of a book to read for any of the prompts :)

The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo
The Eight - Katherine Neville
Tumblr media
Read any book released this year that you've been excited for!

Studyblr Intro
Hello, there! I have been a long-time lurker in the studyblr community, and I decided that It's about time I joined in on the fun! This is a sideblog that I am revamping to use for study-related content. I am currently taking a few summer classes at my community college, and I'd like to use this blog to keep myself motivated.
About me:
He / Him
Undergraduate first year (I started in spring)
Currently 20, but will be turning 21 in August
I live in New England (America)
Currently pursuing a Liberal Arts Degree with a Math Focus
I am hoping to go into a math-related career. At the moment, forensic accounting interests me, but I am definitely open to other things.
Interests and Hobbies:
Drawing
Crochet
Cooking & Baking
Video Games (Stardew Valley, BOTW & TOTK, and Minecraft, mostly)
I'd like to get into reading, but that has been slow going
Goals:
Stay on top of my classwork
Get above an 80% in all of my classes
Be able to spend more time on my interests and hobbies
Make some friends, hopefully
What to expect:
I'd love to give a tangible list of what to expect, but this is also the first blog that I will be making (hopefully consistent) personal posts to ever. It'll be as much a surprise to you as to me. You can probably expect a lot of reblogs, some to do lists, photos, and maybe some hobby-related posts.
Studyblrs that inspire me:
@noodledesk @study-coffee-chicago @the---hermit @why-the-heck-not @beforeiread-studies @caramelcuppaccino @frithams @learnelle @luthiest @oneanxiousstudybuddy @lexdiscipula @teacherstudiies @ben-learns-smth @chemblrish @studiousliz
((And a couple others following my main account (@hellbentsunday): @honeyteastudies @cupsnpages @savemygrades ))
While this blog is partly about motivation, I hope than I can also make some good friends! This community is super friendly, and I'd love to get in on some of that.
Thanks for reading!
((I'll be tagging my posts as #math marks.))

how did you come up with your usernames? (noodledesk/windbreak)
way back in high school when i was thinking of a name for a studyblr i wanted a suffix that wasn't just -study because i thought it might be nice to post about other stuff, so i picked -desk because i had a lot of hobbies that needed a desk (drawing, writing hahaha) !!
windbreak came from a line i wrote during a free write, where i wrote 'warm like windbreak', and then it kinda just stuck over the years :)

25.7.2022 // i’m finally back from my two week break i spent travelling and enjoying the small joys of city exploration with friends :) a huge thanks to @hannistudies for taking me to She Said (a female and queer author bookstore+coffee shop with impeccable vibes and the best almond orange cake i’ve had in my life)<3
Pride Reading Challenge 🌈
i’m ¼ of the way through the challenge, so i thought i’d post an update. the prompts i’ve filled so far are: • coming out book (a book where coming out is a (relatively) major plot point) • epically queer (a larger than life story featuring queer epic heroes) • yes homo (a queer romance book) • not gay as in happy but queer as in fuck you (a book featuring characters with lesser known orientations/gender identities)
[ books i read for each of the prompts and my thoughts below the cut ]
🌈 coming out book: game changer by r. reid i was originally gonna read the magic between by s. hoyt for this prompt, but as it happens, i’ve been stuck on 80% with that one for months (i rly do struggle with magical realism asdbhjq). so instead, i picked this up bc i wanted to read the sequel/companion novel, but a friend told me it’s worth reading this one too and yes. she was right. this was delightful and i found myself laughing out loud, the perfect read for during exam season.
🌈 epically queer: iron widow by x. j. zhao mx zhao is insane for writing this. that’s all i’m gonna say. godspeed.
🌈 yes homo: people notice the rain by c. paul this was a reread of the 1st book in a series that somehow, impossibly, made me enjoy a werewolf story - and even though this book isn’t as good as the sequels, it’s still a v enjoyable cute ya queer romance with some mystery. i’m just gonna copy/paste the blurb i wrote for this trilogy a couple months back:  A beautiful, smoothly unravelling narrative meets truly atmospheric writing in this story of growth and trust, with the added sprinkle of the supernatural. Fresh and exciting, and most importantly, inclusive in a way that feels as effortless as breathing. Truly worth picking up, even if werewolf stories aren’t your cup of tea - this just might change your opinion (it did mine)(I still cannot believe it). Each book in the trilogy introduces more different identities, ending with, quite literally, a single token straight in the (found) family. Oh, there’s also d&d and gorgeous weather motifs that just tie the tale together perfectly.
🌈 not gay as in happy but queer as in fuck you: people need a storm by c. paul the story continues in this sequel, which had me squealing of feels not even 80 pages in; it has the most pov from my fave character in the series and so much foreshadowing,,,,, rereading this series was such a great idea. i rly think the writing and pace and characters pick up in this one, lads
If you have any questions regarding the books i’ve read for the challenge so far or if you have any thoughts on them/the challenge, my asks are always open :D
