They would have just gotten together in like their 40s instead because it would have taken Katniss awhile to get there, but she literally admits to herself that she's noticed him and has been keeping track. She knows about him wrestling and coming in 2nd only after his older brother, she's noticed all his work in the bakery, etc etc, she's just a bit dense (understandably!) when it comes to romance/relationships. The trauma moved the timeline up a bit lol

ow a character doesn’t have to be quote unquote “good” in order to be well written, multi-faceted and interesting to watch or read about, and someone can be given all these seemingly “irredeemable” traits and morals you don’t necessarily agree with but you can still in other ways analyze, connect to or empathize with regardless because time and skill has been taken to craft them into more than a 2D cutout, and being able to capture both that conflict of ideals and yet desire to understand is simultaneously a mark of great writing and of the human condition.
