anyways. story time!;

Fresh from getting into a relationship, both Lucifer and Sephtis agreed to make it a secret until Lucifer was comfortable enough.

On a random night, Sephtis accompanied Lucifer to the royal library. The raven haired male needed a book to continue to help his boyfriend's basic studies.

On the other hand, the brunette took this opportunity to have a mini date with his beloved stoic boyfriend. Stealing glances. Exchanges gentle fingertip touches until they hold each others hands. Lucifer didn't want to admit it, but he was flustered from the way his boyfriend treated him like a rare diamond.

Suddenly, the doors to the library burst open. A few voices sounded out. One of it was a female voice. The other couple were males.

Lucifer knew very well whose voices they belong to. It was three of his younger siblings. Mammon, Asmodeus and Lilith.

"I swear they walked here together! You have to believe me!"

"Of course we believe ya. Now, where are these two lovebirds!?"

"Aren't we supposed to search them stealthily..?"

How was Lucifer not surprised? These three--in fact of all of his siblings have been suspecting Sephtis and him to be together. Now that they are, it made everything worse. He bit his lip, cursing at himself that he had forgotten his loudmouth of a bother of his siblings.

"Lucifer?" Sephtis called out in a soft tone. Immediately, all of Lucifer's burden from his shoulder had been lifted. He looks at the other. Uttering a single, "What?" Sephtis only gave him a smile and intertwined his fingers with the other. "Let's get further into the place," he suggested and gently tugging Lucifer deeper into the Library's corners.

They arrived at a spot where it was darker. The only luminating light available was the small lamp right far from the centre area, where an empty reading table sits. It casts a warm orange glow, lingering onto their skin.

"Sephtis. I am not sure if we should just hide out here. We could explain to them the main reason to as why we are-..." Lucifer's throat had gotten caught with a lump--seeing his boyfriend staring down at him. Eyes with nothing but full of love. Sephtis tilted his head slightly, curious to what the other would say next. The ravenette sighed softly and crossed his arms. "Never mind. I wouldn't mind spending more time here with you," he whispered, earning a light chuckle from his lover. Which made him unconsciously laugh too.

Voices from the unwanted guests began to fade in louder by each second, alerting the couple. Suddenly, the air around Lucifer began to tighten. He felt Sephtis's body pressing against his. He was closing up the space between them and locked his boyfriend in place by pinning him against the bookshelf.

"Sephtis! What are you doing?" he exclaimed, trying to push him off. Face flushed with a bright pink hue. He wasn't used to affectionate touches or some sort that Sephtis gave him. He always prioritised his work. Nothing else. Now that someone had come into his life and changed his whole routine. Everything felt so elusive, yet it felt better.

"We have to be quiet if we don't want to get caught," the brunette replied. Silence fell. The sound of hearts beating could only be heard between them. "Your heart is beating fast and loud, Lu," he mentioned. The other's face reddened further with the nickname. "Don't be so modest. Yours as well," Lucifer snapped back.

They stood still while listening to the trio walking and chattering about. Though, their voices were muffled and distorted out. Reason being them focusing only on each other. Their heart raced to the point where they beat as one. Their eyes met, and only one thought came to both of their minds. They just want to kiss each other!

Lucifer felt so pathetic. His pride was crumbling down right in front of him. All because of his gullible of a boyfriend. The only one who made him break. It genuinely annoyed him. Stupidity is attractive to him for some reason.

"Lu. May I kiss you?" Sephtis asked ever so bluntly. A heart skipped a beat. The ravenette scoffed and gave him a smug look. "You think you can get me to agree to that?"

"I am not sure. I'm asking for your consent first," One day. Just one day, this man will kill him with his words. Lucifer cleared his throat and stretched his arms out. Cupping the brunette's face. "Then, come and wrap me around your finger, my love,"

Yeah, they got caught.

One last hug before I go.

Lilith tilted her head a little as she showed her sad smile. Stretching out both of her arms to sandwiched the demon's face in her palms. Sephtis immediately melts into her gentle touch while pressing his own rough hands against hers.

"I'm sorry, Seph," she utters. The other's eyes gave out a longing look. Observing the female in front of him. He slowly squeezed her hands. "Sorry for what?" he whispered. "For making you live through hell. You didn't deserve this," she reasoned, tracing his cheek bones back and forth with her thumb.

He let out a sharp exhale--almost mocking a short laugh and shook his head. "It's not your fault. Your father was right. I shouldn't have let you see the humans in the human realm in the first place. No princesses or princes should have,"

"Oh, hush it, Seph. It's not your fault either. I became selfish. Greedy. I wanted him to live. Now, see what consequences had been made from my actions. And you've paid all of them," Sephtis's vision unfocused for a moment once he heard the last line. His face looked a little distant as he glanced to the side. He knew himself, he wasn't done. Never will be.

"And I'm so, so sorry, Sephtis. I wished I had listened to you back then," she smiled. The demon slid his hands down to Lilith's wrists. His eyes began to sting. Tears filling up and blurring his vision. He hiccuped and sniffled. "Lilith... I just... Missed you,"

A huge lump was stuck in his throat. There were so many things he wanted to say, but that was the only thing that came out of his mouth. He let out a shaky sigh. Leaning down to lay his forehead onto Lilith's shoulder. "I missed you like hell," he mumbled into the crook of her neck.

The human slithered her arms around Sephtis's neck. Immediately, the male embraced her. His hold was tight. It was a hug of desperation. Longing. He didn't want to let go at all. Why would he? This is the first time in years he finally gets to see and touch the person who made his life better when they first met. He needed this.

"... I missed you too, Dumbo," She said, tightening the hug. The brunette didn't say anything more. He just needed his hug as if his life depended on it.

The hug lasted longer than a couple of minutes. Sephtis was the one who let go first. Slowly, mentally accepting the fact that this was his life now. "You have to go now. Your time is running out, little Lamb," Lilith laughed. "Little Lamb. I've never heard that in a long time," she wiped away her old best friend's tear stained face. "As well as Dumbo. Now go," he told her, gesturing his head towards the door to the soul's next life.

Lilith stared at the dark oak wooden door. She glanced back to the other. "Promise me to meet me in my next life?" Sephtis smiled, nodding. "I promise. I love you,"
