❥ once you joined his squad, he always made sure you got your fill of food before himself. he’d rather you have plenty to eat so you could stay healthy and strong; he never wanted you to worry about food or go hungry. you’d always suggest he goes first, but he’d always deny your request

❥ at night when he couldn’t sleep, sometimes he’d walk down the hallway and stand outside your bedroom door. it brought him some peace knowing you were sleeping; safe from any harm and the thought would bring a small smile to his face

❥ when the scouts go on expeditions outside the walls, he’s secretly a worried mess. he’s constantly looking over his shoulder at you, checking to make sure you’re okay. when the titans break your formation and you get separated, even through the fight you’re the only thing on his mind. he knows you can handle yourself but it doesn’t keep him from worrying. and when he hurt his foot and couldn’t join you on an expedition?!? oh he was filled with worry; with regret. i should’ve gone anyways. ignore the pain and fight through it. he’d pray you, (and everyone else) makes it back safely.

You just moved into a satisfactorily priced apartment complex in the near outskirts of the city. Not in the heart, yet close enough to where you can walk to the grocery store!! You go to the gym that's within the complex (win in this economy) and surpriseee, your neighbor his a hot, nonchalant-looking man.

Stolen glances because he thinks you're nice to look at…sarcastically criticizes your form as an excuse to be your spotter🤭

finally. after days of unpacking, decorating, and a ridiculous amount of grocery store trips you were fully moved in. folding up the rest of your laundry, you come across a pair of gym shorts and instantly remember the gym you’ve passed a million times on all of your grocery runs. you remember it looking really nice from the outside, and figured you’d go check it out.

the smell of sweat instantly filled your nose as people moved around the space. you squeeze your way by a group of people to an almost empty area and begin your workout. after your second set, a faint ‘excuse me’ startles you and as you remove your headphone you’re met with a beautiful pair of blue eyes.

his stare is sharp and pierces through you, and his deep, smooth voice catches you off guard; “excuse me, is anyone using this?” he asks and points to the machine next to yours, to which you quickly shake your head “no, go for it” you go to put your headphone back in but he speaks again, “also, you need to lift your elbows more when you do that”

taken back by his comment, you just decide to ignore it and you end up moving a couple of machines’ away from him.

as you continue your workout, you notice his gaze constantly drifting your way, which you find rather distracting. yes, he was good looking but you couldn’t help but think he was only watching to see if your form was right as you exercise. when he wasn’t watching you, you were watching him. he was mesmerizing; the way he moves, the way he carries himself, all of it. your eyes meet through the mirror and you look away, but he approaches you again. and of course, with another critique.

“you need to spread your feet apart more when you squat”

you smirk, “so you’re watching me squat?”

he says nothing, but makes no move to leave. instead, he stands in a squat position himself; showing you how it’s done. “this is how your feet should be” he motions down to his feet and you follow his gaze. he suddenly has you step up to the squat rack, and before you know it, you’re squatting with him watching; as your spot for safety reasons of course.

that’s what you keep telling yourself as you watch him watch you through the mirror. his eyes are on yours and he has no intention of looking away. after what feels like a lifetime, you’re walking back up to your apartment and him keeping you company.

“well thanks for the tips i guess” you say as you reach your door, “but you didn’t have to walk me back.”

he smiles at this and walks across the hall from you, pulling keys from his pocket and unlocking the door across from yours.

“who said i was walking you back? i was just going home.” he smirks at your shocked face, clearly unaware he was your neighbor. your super hot neighbor.

“see you around, neighbor” the words roll of his tongue in a teasing manner and he’s in his apartment before you could say anything in response.

levi waited restlessly in his office for the scouts to return. his injured foot kept him from the most recent mission and he’s never felt more anxious. of course he was worried about everyone and hoped they’d all make it back in one piece, but his mind kept wandering to you. why am i so worried about her? he had no reason to be, you were riding along commander erwin and other strong squad leaders, so why? i have no reason to worry about her, they’ll all be fine. but even so, he ignored the throbbing pain in his foot and paced around his small workspace.

a messenger suddenly knocked on the wooden door, making levi freeze in his tracks; “sir! the troops are back!”

he couldn’t stop himself from leaving his office; couldn’t stop himself as he practically ran outside, and couldn’t stop himself from gasping in shock, not only at how many didnt return but also from seeing you on the back of someone’s horse, knocked unconscious. he took in how blood ran from your head and leg while your arm was heavily bandaged.

“what happened here?” levi asked, walking up to the man on the horse as he attempted to get off without you falling. before he could think, he reached up and pulled you off the horse himself, barely hearing the man as he walked away with you in his arms. “she was cornered by titans, we’re lucky she’s even here….”

once again, levi’s forgotten about his own injury as he studies yours. as he studies you he realizes, he wouldn’t know what to do if you didnt come back. yes you’re unconscious, but you’re here now and hes gonna do everything in his power to ensure you wake up.

he gently places you in a cot at the infirmary, covering you and taking the seat next to your bed. he stares at the dried blood clinging to your fingers and he reaches out to you, brushing his rough fingers against the back of your hand.

you better wake up brat.

he didn’t know what it was, but there was just something about you that drew him in. maybe it was the way you carried yourself. confident; but down-to-earth and caring. not mean, but stern when you needed to be.

maybe it was your looks. you were far from unattractive and actually caught his eye the first time he ever saw you. beautiful, shiny hair, a gorgeous smile and alluring eyes, you had it all.

but maybe it wasn’t something as simple as looks. maybe it was your dedication. you’ve proven time and time again that you’re useful to humanity. all your hard work brought you up in rankings and some people even began to put you and mikasa on the same level.

and maybe it was something far simpler. maybe it was the gentle way you speak to him, maybe it was the way you say his name. maybe it was the way you care for him even when he’s stubborn.

something had shifted between you two, but he didn’t know what. didnt know when it began. all he knew is that one day he looked at you with softer eyes; addressed you with a gentler tone.

maybe he realized it when he became comfortable with your presence, or maybe when he started searching for you in the crowd after every mission to make sure you made it back safely.

regardless, all he knew was that you were someone he cared for; someone he wanted to protect. but it was different than the others. the thought of life without you seemed like the end, he wasn’t sure he could go on without you.

he peers down at the ground to see you with his squad. everyone, laughing, but your laugh is so beautiful he doesn’t ever want you to stop.

and it was in that moment that he truly realized; he likes you.

it started as a simple, relaxing day. your boyfriend taehyung took you to the beach to relax. you were doing exactly that; relaxing, or trying to at least. taehyung kept bothering you, poking your side, stacking sand on your back, trying to flip your page before you finished reading it. “tae can you stop?”

he pokes your side once again before answering “you’ve been reading forever, hangout with your boyfriend now.” simply rubbing the tiny mountain of sand off your arm you reply “i thought you brought me here to relax” “you’ve been relaxing for the last 2 hours, lets go swim” you sigh but nod and his face lights up.

you close your book and he takes it from your hand, setting it inside your bag. he takes your hand and runs to the water and you’re forced to run as well to keep up with him. once your toes hit the cold water he releases your hand and dives under. he pushes his hair back from his face when he emerges and all you can do is stare. he notices you checking him out and he splashes water at you. you scream at the sudden cold contact and start to run the opposite way, but taehyung grabs your arm before you can get far. he throws you over his shoulder and leads you back into the cold mass.

“taehyung its cold! put me down!” you laugh and he laughs with you. he continues in deeper and once the water reaches his waist he jumps under and takes you with him. he’s quick to wrap his arms around you and pull you back up with him. he smiled up at you and you smile back, “i love you” “i love you too” you reply before splashing him in the face.

late at night, long after the sun has set was always your favorite time of day. after all the paperwork, after a long, tiring day of expeditions and strategic talk, you loved to just unwind with your boyfriend. of course being humanity’s strongest comes with a lot of responsibilities. he’s away longer, has more paperwork, and as a result you don’t get to see him as much as you’d like. but at the end of the day after all the work, he always comes home to you. just like now.

you wrap your arms around him as the front door closes; the cold air from outside still whirling around the entryway. he wraps an arm around your waist while the other hangs his cloak on the hook. he smiles at you and you’re grateful he’s home safe.

after eating and showering, he joins you in bed. both sets of hands go to their designated spots. his grab around your waist and pull you close, yours cup his face; thumb stroking his cheek. this is your favorite part of your nights. watching and holding him close; holding him like he’d never go anywhere again. you were so proud and thankful for this man and by looking into his eyes you could tell he thought the same about you.

smiling, you ask him to tell you about his day and he does. you start to doze to his sweet voice, and cuddle up closer to his chest,

“your voice is making me fall asleep” you sigh.

“are you saying i’m boring you, brat?”

you chuckle, “no i’m saying i feel safe with you”

he shifts and pulls you on top of his chest, reaching an arm under your shirt and scratching your back. he doesn’t respond, but he places kisses on top of your head and tightly hugs you, knowing he doesn’t want to let you go.
