I am really so glad you like this AU of mine, as an artist i fell in love with the masterpiece that is Arcane so when I thought at something for a redesign (and after months and months of failed attempts)... this came to my mind and, ghawd, it suits TMM so well.

Science that meets magic, the corruption of science to empower human beings, the fight between the marginalized and the wealthy for a better world and to reclaim a land... not to mention the aesthetic.

Hello there dear Anon! So sorry fort the late reply, basically i open Tumblr most of the time from the app and I haven't noticed these inbox messages until.. well, now

So, about your question... y'know it is a very interesting take on the epilogue!

Retasu working at the museum about alien civilization both suits her being so open about others, about different cultures and her desire of knowing more and more about the previous earthlings... and both Ryou's parents exactly same goal, but in a more humanistic and less scientific way.

Also it also suits so well her desire to help Ryou as well: her being in love with him will bring her not only to challenge herself and her own limits in order to help him accomplish his mission (the Mew Aqua scene for example) but will also make her discover a whole new world, the alien ones, making researches and studying the once-enemy-now-friend. Her being pen-pal with Pie is also a direct reflection on this and I fin it so cute! I am sure Pietasu shippers has been so happy about this!

But yeah, as a Ryoutasu shipper I like so much your take on her career in the study of ancient alien culture, as I said before I can totally see her and Ryou being the scientific and humanistic side of the same study and I am totally here for her being so supportive in his research and mission, as we've already seen in the anime.

Finally getting around to watching TMMN season 2.

Started right out the bat with my boy Kisshu going BONKERS. In other words, it’s going great! Then I get whammed with the hints of Lettuce x Shirogane. Which I’m actually okay with.

I don’t remember that ever being a thing in the original TMM. He was originally a part of the love square going on with Ichigo. Girl was out there, unwittingly starting a reverse harem by just existing lol.

But Lettuce getting to have the affections of Pai and Shirogane, and Ichigo getting the affections of Kisshu and Masaya, makes it a little more balanced. I nice change AND Lettuce is given more attention.

🐈‍⬛🧪 Ryou Shirogane - Tokyo Mew Mew | Arcane redesign AU

Genius. Scientist. Handsome. Enigmatic. Broken. Orphan. Lonely. 

Ryou Shirogane was only 10 when his childhood and his whole life shattered into pieces: the only son of one of the wealthiest family in Piltover witnessed the death of his parents, side effect of a terrorist attack made by one of the most violent and extremist group in Zaun. His father only guilt was to be pioneer in the study of the powerful force of the Arcane. 

Motivated not only by revenge but also by the genuine desire to fulfil his father will and complete his researches in making the world a better place for everyone, Ryou will make the Project Mew his only purpose in life. 

Years and years of study, locked in his own laboratory and house - his best friend and adoptive brother Keiichiro by his side in this quest - made Ryou as brilliant as introverted, unable to get really attached to someone. Maybe the Project Mew, the feeling of friendship with the five girls chosen to lead his experiment and the deep bond he felt with Retasu and Ichigo will help him saving not just the city… but also himself.

I will add that I totally agree with the more “sensitive/mature/motherly” effect (yeah green as Mother Nature, I agree) that it seems like the element that balance every character in the green wildcard effect, and this duality of being a wildcard in terms of personalities but having the constant element of “mature/sensistive”creates always something very unique.

They are actually as you said very rarely a stereotype: Makoto seems the typical strong and masculine ones but she is sensitive, romantic, loves flowers and cook, very feminine inside. Much like March who seems a tomboy but she has the role of older sister/mother for her siblings. Mint is the Precure of tranquillity and yet when she fights she has one of the most violent and powerful attack sequence. Mew Lettuce is shy, clumsy and insecure but growing up she overcomes her insecurities and becomes powerful and the first to risk her own safety for others (at the beginning her shyness is opposed to the hidden power she unleashed in the mew form, violent and vindictive before meeting Ichigo). In Mermaid Melody, Lina seems cold and more serious and dedicated to her role… but because she has lost and suffered.
