Kate Martin showing up to the NBA Draft to support her best friend only to get drafted by the 2x reigning WNBA Champions is enough to make me ugly cry.
Respectfully, why did McCall get a ring? She barely played last season
The organization decides who gets them (when the Braves won the WS in 2021 they gave everyone who worked at Truist Park in 2021 rings, my cousin was an usher and literally got a World Series ring.) and Gotham (correctly) decided McCall should get a ring.
Also, she literally played into August so saying she “barely” played is a *bit* of a stretch…
I take personal responsibility for that 2nd Bay FC goal because I hadn’t even finished my “both of these games can’t end 1-1” thought before they scored.
imagine yelling and abusing players because you can't coach right 🫵🏽 like if the team got zero wins, it's obviously something wrong with you big bro. college coaches are insane
EXACTLY THIS. Don’t make the fact that YOU can’t explain tactics or create a game plan other people’s problem. Weirdo.
Ohh okay ik who you’re talking about then. But I agree no one under the age of 18 should be in a professional league if they can barley work a part time job at a McDonald’s 😭😭
McDonalds was my first job in high school when I was 15 and let me tell you how fucking strict they were with me. (This was in 2010, if things have changed please forgive me.)
• I couldn’t work more than 25 hours a week.
• I couldn’t work past 8pm without supervision from a legal guardian and even if I was allowed to work past 8 no one under the age of 18 is allowed to close the store.
• No one under the age of 18 was allowed in the kitchen or allowed to touch anything grease/fryer related.
• I couldn’t work more than 3 weekdays in one work week.
Like, why is one of the shittiest corporations on earth doing better for children than a professional sports league?
how do you feel about all the minors in the nwsl recently?
I made a post about this when San Diego signed a 13 year old the same week the Dash’s goalkeeper coach was fired for having an inappropriate relationship with a player — I hate it. There are youth leagues for a reason. I don’t care if they aren’t “professional” enough. Let children be fucking children.
So, are you going to talk about why you don’t talk about the NWSL anymore?
Not that I owe you anything but sure, why not?
While I still love the NWSL deeply I recently received a promotion at work and am currently in the process of being trained as a manager so my ability to pause my life for 2/3 days to focus on soccer is kind of out of the question for the foreseeable future.
