STOP Saffronisation

BJP led Indian government has reduced the syllabus of CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) curriculum by about 30% for classes 9 to 12. One might wonder why change of syllabus is big issue. Let me tell you. The government has removed topics like secularism, democratic rights, demonetization, Indian constitution, caste and religion from the political sciences. When you take away these basic principles the shell of political science is empty. Moreover, they have environment and ecology removed from the syllabus. This is complete disaster.

This is the government’s move to stop the next generation from asking question. This is purely for silencing people of India. For long the ruling party has been moving towards establishing a dictatorship. The BJP shows all signs of fascist government. It’s time to wake up and realise what is happening around you. People who are being ignorant and silent automatically take the side of oppressor. Speak up. We need to resist the saffronisation of education.

End mental health stigma

I am deeply saddened to hear the news of Sushant Singh Rajput’s demise. He was an great Indian actor. In his last movie he spoke about depression and suicide. He was an incredible person and touched many lives by his movie, ‘Chichhore” It is an sad irony that his life has to end this way.

We can never know who is suffering from depression. Who is having suicidal thoughts. Be kind and listen to a person when they share. Stand with your friends, family members, work associates or generally anyone you know when they they are suffering. End the mental health stigma. It is not a joke and no one is faking it. On the outside it could seem like a person has everything is not always what is seems. Treat people with kindness.
