If I were to die tomorrow, do not be upset for me. Know that I have lived well, I was sincere towards my responsibilities, I was loyal to my passion, I was honest and patient with love, I practiced kindness like I breathed. If at all death comes to me tomorrow, it will only come as a reward, to liberate me from this temporary abode and take me to where I have always belonged. Wish me a safe and easy journey instead.

Nothing good ever came out from suppressing what one feels in a relationship. Words are great travelers. Say the right word at the right time, and it reaches where a healing hand never could.

There are days when I have no strength to even want to live. But every time I hit the rock bottom, I am just grateful that I had the pleasure to be a human with so many beautiful emotions. Because I existed, I could love, cry, laugh. That I have experienced being human completely, with all of my authenticity, unapologetically, puts me so at ease. I didn't take my life, this beautiful gift, for granted. And I am proud of myself for that.

To everyone I am in touch with and the souls I sadly don't talk to,
Each one of you have impacted my life in beautiful ways. I was glad to be able to know you and I was happy while I loved you. Know that I am and I will always be grateful that you crossed my path. Today, I have the opportunity, so allow me to tell you that you were all special to me in your own beautiful ways. You are always unforgettable in my story. Thank you for being my lesson, my memory, the reason why I learnt about myself more. Thank you for dropping by.

If my words weren't enough for you to measure the depth of my love, nothing I do will ever be. A poet, words are the closest thing I have to the mirror of my soul.

Have you ever looked at yourself and felt so proud of your mind and body because only you know what they have endured year after year to keep your soul alive? Do you take the time to be as gentle towards yourself as you are towards the world? Isn't it beautiful to be so authentically you with bruises and stories of silent victories over the loud wars in your mind? Isn't it pretty to be reminded that you could have died so many times but you didn't because your heart is known for being a warrior?

REFUGEE
They said refugees don't have
a home of their own.
As she grew up, she watched herself
move from her father's empire
to share a stranger's crown.
A pretty guest to her own castle,
she was the jewel of another throne.
From her dream lover to the one
she tried to love, respite was
the only place that remained uncrossed.
A daughter once, then wife.
A mother, then the solace of her grandchild.
At sixty, she held the photograph
of her sixteenth birthday.
A drop of realization escaped her eyes
when she whispered,
"Father, were I a refugee all along?"

Words are the second most important thing you need to write a love poem. The first one is to impregnate your ink with the fragrance of the soul you love.

Today, my prayers don't have sounds.
There's this restlessness I can almost touch.
The air is cold but heavy.
The sky is clear but pale, like it's mourning
the loss of something.
The birds are yet to wake up,
only the silence is singing.
My body is accusing me in whispers,
I haven't slept in days.
Maybe, I will take the day off.
Everything else can keep moving.
Maybe, I will wait for you to visit this noon.
Maybe, you will see what it's like
to carry the sadness of autumn in June.
Maybe, I will ask you to cross that
promised line.
Maybe, you will find out what happens
in the dark before the stars begin to shine.
If by dawn, I don't change my mind,
Tell me that you will stay, I don't have
to do this alone this time.

I am who I am. What else can I be?
Normal is not a word, it's a prison we build with our perceptions. Normal is a chain with invisible hands. Normal is a very abnormal state of being for the kind that is especially designed to evolve with time.
I walked away from normal when I was a child. Eleven years old me watched over rice fields the entire day, and by evening I sat by the fireside and dreamt to be a poet with a magic pen. Every word was a spell, she brought back lost hearts to themselves, she was a wanderer who was talked about at homes oftentimes. When I was asked years later if I still wanted to be a leader, I smiled. I had found a better purpose to be. To remind us of our innate itch to love, to be kind.
Normal called me a rebel when I was sixteen. I fell in love with a pretty soul, but letting it show was never a need. I liked loving a world just as it is. I grew up knowing shades of love as I came across souls with different arts. Different roads to the same home taught me different things.
When everybody talked about home, I was longing to belong to the world, still unknown to everyone I see.
I was not normal that one time I was the most successful, someone stopped quitting because of a poem I wrote. I still had nothing to call my own, but I was the richest one in my town.
Normal is not for the souls with wings. I am what I am. What else could I be?

Some people are like that. They come to you like lost wayfarers find a secluded house to rest for the night. They stay for a while, clean the place and make spaces for them. Then, they mess it their way. And before they leave, they fix everything in such a hurry that the house doesn't look like itself anymore. You become a stranger to yourself.

Peace is not a preposition: it's not against, above, under or around anything. Peace is a pronoun. It's within oneself.

Normalize finding your call when everyone else out there have already found their home.
Normalize taking risks for the sake of passion.
Normalize making mistakes in the process.
Normalize growing slowly, at least they are growing.
Normalize keeping dreams ageless.
Normalize accepting people for who they become.

THREE THINGS TO REMEMBER
Life is the sea.
Aim for the island of peace,
take control of the oar,
sail inward.
Most of you is water.
Let it be a part of you.
Be fluid.
Shape yourself to fit the situation.
Flow out of turmoils with ease.
Be gentle.
Clean the dirty in mind and body.
Be transparent.
Remember, who they see in you
is who they are.
Be like air.
Don't wait for wings to believe
that you can fly.
