Not a weaving, but I got accepted into Guild Fine Craft Show! A juried show, meaning you get judged on your art to be in it, and they only choose 40 people throughout New England! I’m so excited!
Just needed to share! 🤗

“Windows to other places”
As I was making these, I imagined stumbling across something like this hanging in the forest off a branch, but when you touch it you can go through it and into the little world you see.
Materials: wool, silk, recycled cotton rope, recycled sari silk and velvet. Includes hand spun and hand dyed art yarns. Beading sewn in by hand, polymer clay mushrooms and fairy house made by me!

Naming this collection “windows to other places”, or something like that.
Name of this piece TBD , any suggestions? 🤗
Materials include wool, silk, recycled cotton rope, handspun yarns. Beading was added by hand, and I handmade the little snow covered mushroom houses out of polymer clay. I also felted quite a bit in this piece as well.

Your pieces are breathtaking! I was wondering: when you make your polymer add ins, how do you wind up attaching them to the finished product?
Thank you so much! 😊
I generally just use a hot glue gun since polymer clay is quite light and won’t tend to lean once placed into the weaving.
I also make the clay pieces with a small metal wires in them and I can bend that to attach as well!

For a dear friend and coworker. She lives near the woods with a farm in a fairly rural place and so I thought this piece would be fitting.

Custom letters for a nursery 💜
Forgive me for the clear unevenness of them on the wall, I didn’t care to measure 🙃
Created with one-of-a-kind hand spun yarns. I beaded them by hand and made the mushrooms from polymer clay.
