Oh boy it sure could have been bad if I'd used this very old iron on a project without testing it on some scraps first. Good thing I definitely didn't do that.
That would be especially embarrassing since I'm always telling people to do samples of everything. Haha yes it sure would not be great if, hypothetically, one of the raw edges inside my purple jacket was in fact.. well cooked.
(225 °C = 437 °F, and by comparison the hottest setting on my modern iron read 160 °C/320 °F)
#partially melted one of my sewing clips today while pressing on a curve#in between two of them#that being said the black and Decker retro style iron has a nice weight to it and irons and presses well#you just can't leave water in it or it starts leaking

this is in your he deserved better universe which is honestly one of my guilty au pleasures :3 this was prob a daily ritual when he was younger (and more agreeable) and it got rarer when he grew up. but even when he’s older sev still found time to go to his parents and occasionally allow them to pamper him a bit. (he loves it, they love it; it’s a win for all really)

I made this for another someone who needed a smidgen of kindness (they're a big Snape fan, hence our grumpy star center-stage, here). But tonight, I was feeling super frustrated with myself and quite exhausted after yet another night of not being as productive as I had set out to be. Did I work for another 3 hours after working a full day, including 1 hr of driving time, then errands, then cooking dinner? Yes. Is my wrist inflamed? Yes. So I realized I needed the Snape Drawing, too.
Maybe one of you needs the reminder as well. Take a breather ♡

In April of 1929, the Birth Control Clinical Research Bureau in Greenwich Village was raided by police. They arrested five staff members, confiscated medical records, and tried to bully patients into giving them their names and addresses.
Their tactics backfired. The Bureau and its clinic in Brooklyn received an enormous amount of publicity, and many doctors protested the violation of doctor-patient confidentiality. When the case came to court on April 19, 1929, the judge ruled that the police had exceeded the scope of the search warrant he had issued, and the case was dropped.
