Okay Rumple headcanons:
I like to think he’s brilliant at making soup. Any soup- all homemade, all super creamy and flavourful. It’s always just the right texture and maybe he even has a personalised cookbook with his soup recipes in (in which he adds homemade bread recipes too)
Can and will knit when he’s anxious and away from his spinning wheel
His favourite colour is a dark purple-red, because it makes him think of the dagger and so makes him feel powerful. His second favourite colour is light blue because it makes him think of Belle
Wants a pet dog to have with Belle but is scared shitless of the damned thing getting hurt in all of Storybrooke’s shenanigans
Wont admit it, but he wants to get to know Charming better. They deffo have a sort of friendship in the early seasons of the show, and I like to think that beneath his hostility, Rumple just yearns to be besties with Charming.
^^following this, after Gideon is re-born as a baby, I like to think that the hostility between Rumple and all of the Charming/Swan family disappears and he has picnics with them- he and Charming have competitions about who is the better grandfather
Rumbelle headcanons:
Alike Rumple, Belle has anxiety and stims with her hands when she’s anxious. Her go to method is twirling her wedding ring on her finger- it makes her feel safe
It’s unsaid but they both want a daughter. However after Gideon is re-born they’re just so relieved that their son is back in their arms, safe again, that they don’t even try for another pregnancy in fear of losing that child (Neal)
Belle can bake, Rumple can cook. Rumple can’t bake, Belle can’t cook.
Rumple likes detective films. Belle likes rom-coms. They both adore the Knives Out movies
Belle likes to sleep in in the mornings, whereas Rumple gets up early. The only exception is when he’s having a bad flare up with his chronic pain in his ankle
Sometimes Rumple picks up on traces of Lacey in Belle’s attitude. Maybe she glares at someone or she snaps at him, and a little part of him gets super turned on at the thought

We all know that Rumple's got lots of self-loathing, among other things connected with the way he looked in the EF because it represents how inhuman and monstrous he is.
Now imagine for some reason he and Belle end up back in the EF at some point in the show... or maybe EF 2 in S7...
And Rumple grows scaly and golden and sparkly and lizardy again and he hides from Belle because he is ashamed, because he can't bear to see the expression on her face when she sees the reminder of who he truly is...
But when Belle eventually finds him - because she always does - she takes one look at him and just... smiles and runs up to him and envelopes him in a tight hug and has the audacity to sigh contently against a very baffled Rumple.
Because as much as she loves his human form, as much as she loves him in any form, period, this Rumple - the sparkly golden disco lizard - is her Rumple, the one she met first, the one she got to know first, the one she fell in love with first.
And she missed him... she really did.

(I love you Emma Swan I mean absolutely no shade to Emma Swan) it's crazy to me that ouat was The Emma Swan Show??? I mean I know especially season 1 was centered around her pov but the entire show revolved around Rumple. Every plot revolved around Rumple. Every character had an important connection to Rumple. Emma's most important relationships came from Rumple. Everything is about Rumple. It's always about Rumple. He just tricks you in the first season by pretending to be Behind The Scenes when actually he is The Main Character.
#THIS is what I mean when I say the show should’ve ended after his suicide in s3A. without Rumple they did not HAVE a show so they had to#fucking drag him back to life which made NO sense and made his sacrifice utterly pointless? like come on- that sacrifice was everything#rumple had worked towards because it meant he was being GOOD#he was SAVING people instead of harming them. and more than that#HE WAS SAVING THE LOVE OF HIS LIFE AND HIS SON!!!!#he finally found peace with the prophecy and died for the boy (whether you interpret that as Pan or Henry it still applies)#and that was TORN from him. I have so much beef with s3B but most of which is that they dragged the show back from the dead and dragged rum#with it#anyway rant over. OP is right. I love Emma so much she is kickass but Rumple is the main character
