So I just had this thought and figured I'd share it.
Just recently I finally watched the first Highlander movie.
It was pretty good, one of the best CONCEPTS of all time, but that's not exactly what I'm here to discuss.
If you've watched the movie, you know the concept is that there are these immortal swordsmen who can only be killed via decapitation, and the main character is named Conner MacLeod
But... it's not pronounced "Mac-Leo-D", it's pronounced "Mac-Cloud"
Like McCloud
As in, FOX McCloud
And, the whole Highlander series is focused on other MacLeods, like Duncan MacLeod or Colin MacLeod. There are several different MacLeods.
So... all I'm saying is Fox McCloud is secretly a Highlander. Thank you, and good night.
Ah, Bruceploitation. An era where the world was just like, "Bruce Lee didn't die, what are you talking about? This is Bruce Lee right here!" Only to reveal a vaugly Bruce Lee looking gentleman who's POSSIBLY from Hong Kong.
Possibly.
Bruce Lee Fights Back from the Grave (Doo-yong Lee, 1976)
It bugs me how recently when a new Disney cartoon show comes out the cartoon community is often like "The next insert-canceled-show-here?!"
That tends to put a lot of pressure and unreasonable expectations on the show. So when the show premieres and it's nothing like insert-canceled-show-here people feel like the show is a failure when said show is not trying to be insert-canceled-show-here in the first place.
Look, I get it. I miss Gravity Falls, I miss Amphibia, and I especially miss Owl House, but it's unfair to judge a show because it's not exactly like the previous one you loved by the same studio.
Not every show is going to appeal to your tastes, and that's okay. You never know what your next favorite show is going to be. Maybe it will be from Disney, maybe from somewhere else. Maybe it's premiering next week, maybe it won't be on the air for awhile, or perhaps it's already out there waiting to be discovered. Just keep an open mind and be respectful to those who you disagree with.
Not everyone is going to like the same kind of show, that's why we have so many different ice cream flavors.
I'm not saying this is wrong, but all I'm saying is ONE of these guys solved a mystery that brought the gold dust back to sodor, saving basically an entire parallel dimension.
Mario Movie spoilers ahead; skip if you don't want 'em!!!
Say what you will about the licensed songs (I'm personally mixed on them), but using "No sleep 'till Brooklyn" for Mario and Luigi's first job is just *chef's kiss* perfection.
I know, "a guy making a podcast, no way!" But hear me out, please.
It's a podcast I made with my friends called "What the Bleep are you playing."
It's a podcast where we play a game, many times bad, and tell you why the Bleep we played it.
It's basically just us playing some games, and kind of just picking any random one we want to do and episode on. We've done classic games such as
Looney Tunes: Back in Actio
Go Vaction!
And Star Wars: The Phantom Menace
As well as, you know, some actual classics like Sonic Adventure 2 and Flatout 2
So. I know the last thing the world needs is another podcast, but hey, whens the last time you saw a podcast dedicate an episode to Beat Down: Fists of Vengeance! (Yes, seriously)
Give it a listen!
It's on basically every podcast streaming platform. I'll link to Spotify, but we're also on Google, Stitcher, Amazon, Apple, all that Jazz.
Over the past month I have gone from barley caring about Oddworld, to it becoming one of my favorite game series of all time (at least, as long as this hyperfixation lasts).
Like don't get me wrong, I did want to see this movie anyway just cause I really like the Puss in Boots character, but... wow, this actually looks kinda stupendous.
