Frank Herbert: You know that woman whose literary and historical works have been providing the epigraphs for every chapter in Dune, making her the de facto narrator? Here she finally is, in literally the last few pages of the book! Paul Atreides is going to cement his rule by marrying her while considering Chani his real wife in everything but name, her mother-in-law will mock her literary pretensions, and she'll be the designated scapegoat of the Atreides family henceforth!
Me, already gathering Irulan Corrino into my arms to shield her from the world: Thank you, Frank. You may leave us now.

I have previously complained that people are very bad at guessing at how much information we have about a given historical period, and so they assume well-documented things are unknowable and unknowable things are well-documented. It occurs to me, people are also bad at guessing how much information about a given topic is available now.
On the one extreme, there are topics where you find information without seeking it out, it is presented to you automatically in school and in mainstream media, on social media. On the other extreme, there's information that's genuinely extremely hard to access, behind massive paywalls and in private libraries. But most information is somewhere between these extremes, as in, pretty easily available but only if you actively seek it out. You might just need to spend five minutes searching online, but you might need to ask for inter-library loans, you might need to find a library with access to pay-walled databases, and so on, but it's there.
It's completely understandable to be frustrated when important information is hard to access, but I want a lot of people to learn the difference between "hidden" and "not actively offered to you." Yes, on some level if we want many people to become aware of something, we need to actively offer it to them, we need to shove it in their eyeballs because a lot of people lack the time/energy/willingness to seek it out on their own, but you yourself should be one of the people who does seek it out on their own, especially if you're an adult.

FRANKLYYY i love that we only ever hear jessica recite the litany against fear. both times she says it paul is mouthing along, but it’s her voice we hear, the voice of an actual bene gesserit witch. we see him withstand immense pain with the gom jabbar at his neck, we see him pilot the thopter through a sandstorm, and both times we hear jessica reciting the litany before paul calms down. he’s moving his mouth, but it’s jessica’s voice because the bene gesserit are always speaking through him (whether he likes it or not) because he’s the result of 10,000 years of their selective breeding. and that’s like the whole thing!!! destiny/fate/whatever you want to call it is always speaking and acting through paul and he KNOWS this and he has no say in the matter………..ugh house of atreus cursed 14,000 years

Seven more 💍✨ That's a Witch-king of Angmar as seen by Frodo on the Weathertop!
Also, I’ve decided I'll be selling the originals after I finish all the drawings (that means after Easter). But if there is any character you'd like to have in particular you can start reserving them now. By messaging me here or on [email protected] :^)
Saruman, Legolas, Gimli, Éowyn, Faramir, Gandalf, Galadriel, Witch-king, Uruk-hai, Grishnákh, Samwise, Bilbo, Frodo and Elrond are taken!
The prices are from 50 to 80USD (shipping included). And same as last year with the dog drawings this year also all the earnings will be sent to charities. Thank you! 🌿
Rest of the characters are here and here and here!
