Sometimes, you go through something and it hurts and you don’t know if things are ever going to be okay again. But then days go by and you don’t feel like crying and you wonder what it means that you’re fine. You think maybe you’re ignoring your emotions and that they’ll come back out of no where. Until you’re driving home from work, singing along to the radio and wondering what you’ll have for dinner, and you realize you’re happy. Maybe that thing didn’t break you because you’re stronger than that. Maybe you can survive anything. Maybe you finally want to.

I’m currently studying a lecture about the neurobiology of sleep and it’s really cool. 

We honestly have no idea what sleep is for and why we do it. Evolutionarily speaking, it’s a very dangerous activity. Your body becomes immobile and you become unconscious of the environment. That makes an organism very susceptible to predators. Therefore there must be a very important reason for sleep. 

We know sleep is somehow restorative but we don’t actually know what is being restored. It might be important for conserving energy and yet the brain can be as active or even more active during sleep than it is during wakefulness. 

We also know that sleep deprivation over time is lethal and leads to death. A few days of sleep deprivation leads to hallucinations and people talking to themselves. Features of psychosis arise. 

And then there’s the issue of dreaming! What is it, why is it, and all that jazz. We just don’t know.

My aunt went to the same college Mira Rajput went to years ago, and she said the whole university was infested with people like her. Coming from a very conservative family, she wasn't too much of a fashionista, but literally two weeks into her college career, she was plucked, waxed, and dressed like those "Delhi-ites". Needless to say, she hated it. Half of her batchmates are rich housewives. The Mira Rajput variety isn't uncommon there, so it's not an excuse, but she's not an anomaly.

Oh, I’m sure. I was the scholarship student at private schools filled with rich kids all my life. That’s just how they are, it’s how they’re raised to act, and it’s probably how they’ll raise their kids to act. So I’m not really understanding why people have a hard time believing Mira was like that. It’s textbook rich bitch behavior lol
