Doll Chateau Evangeline in latest Headdress/crown. I’ve slowed down considerably in my BJD Headpiece productivity as of late. For some reason I just haven’t been as interested in it. This is not to say that i’m giving up the hobby; rather, my interests have Shanghai’d me off and away on another adventure- Tattoos! I’m apprenticing at a tattoo shop in San Francisco and headdresses have been put on the back burner for a little bit.
My interests usually run in cyclic patterns. I’ll get tired or bored of doing one form of art, find some other form of artistic expression, decide I am going to teach myself or learn how to do it, and then i’m all about the new thing for until I feel I have the knowledge well in hand and can produce examples of my own.
Then I either find something else I like or will go back to one of my past interests and will do that until I’m needing a change. I don’t know if this is a great way to work or not, they say jack of all trades, master of none; but, I need variety and abhor life when I feel bored, or if the thing I’m working on starts to feel stale.
Headpiece I finished up recently. Took photos with my Doll Chateau Stacy & Evangeline, as I wasn’t sure which girl would help the piece shine. I think I am going to have to go with Evangeline- photos of that incoming.
Last one for now. Bunches of garnets moonstone, star ruby, Cherry quartz, and hand cut brass flowers. I was looking at a bunch of awesome samurai helmets and got inspired to try one of my own in my style.
This piece took me a little bit to finish. I think that people might not understand why the price for my headdresses are what they are because again, my inability to photograph the particulars. I’ll have to continue to develop this.
There's so much good shit in this piece, peridot, star rubies, opals, garnets, multiple colors of tourmaline, topaz, moonstone, gold, & Swarovski crystals. There's also some vintage jewelry pieces I deconstructed to incorporate in the design.
It may be much in its muchness, but it's what I like and don't particularly care to reign it in if I don't want to. Heh.
So, it occurred to me that the photos I usually take of my headpieces never really exhibit the detail I put into each Headpiece. I thought I would try to take some photos to give a better example of it. Like i’ve said before, I'm not very great with the photography aspect of giving the details. But, here's me trying. :)
Butterfly Chain Headpiece I just finished. Raccoon Doll Daisy head on Serenade Doll body. I can’t help it, I just like the long neck look best. She is just too gorgeous for words!
