Just thought of some Akashi videogame headcanons

So first of all because of all the extra studies and activities he was made to do throughout his childhood, he originally did not play video games at all. He just never had the time and his father considered them to be unproductive, anyway. So, he never grew up with any video game console in his house.

The only exposure he had to video games came from other people, more specifically the Teiko gang. Kise, Aomine, and Murasakibara specifically played a lot of video games in their free time, and if Akashi was around, he'd lean over them to get a peek at their screens (I would imagine they'd be bringing their PSPs or DSs to school or something). Sometimes, Akashi would ask questions about the games that they were playing, because he would just be so curious as to how fun it is to play them, and if they sense that Akashi is really interested they'd give him a turn with their console.

And, of course, Akashi, being the out-of-touch person that he is (bless his precious little heart), ends up getting taught by the other miracles how to play the games. He listens very intently and is a quick learner, though, so once he understands the rules he's really good.

And since he met Midorima and was friends with someone who finally shared his interest in shogi, Akashi started playing online games with him when they weren't at school. I vaguely remember from like an interview or something with Fujimaki that Akashi's online handle is Red Emperor, which is just... very fitting. Either way, even though Akashi did not play console games, he would always do online shogi matches with Midorima which would then expand into other games like chess and Othello. And those kept up all the way until high school. But since he wasn't hanging out with the other former Teiko members like he used to, his video game exposure went right back down to zero.

Eventually, post-Winter Cup, when the former Teiko members start hanging out together again, he starts getting exposed to video games again through the others, and the miracles finally just tell him he should get some games of his own to try out. At first, he wasn't sure about getting a console, but they told him that he could just get PC games to start and if he's comfortable with the PC format then he can just stick with it.

Case in point, Aomine sends him the link for Steam via text with the message "Go crazy".

Lemme tell you, this boy clicks on that link and SCROLLS. Again, as someone who was never familiar with the video game realm, this feels like stepping into a new world. With all the options for games, it's almost overwhelming, but eventually, he starts picking game categories that stick out to him and combing through different game trailers and synopses with a mindset of "I'll pick three games to test out and see how I feel after that."

Fast-forward to some time after that, and Akashi has very much found an appreciation for video games and regularly tries new ones that interest him.

Since he's a very intelligent person, I would like to think that rather than playing video games to relax and not use his brain for a while, he's the type to play video games that are intellectually stimulating. He likes to be challenged and use his wits to complete the games he plays.

Because of that, I would say his video game preferences probably fall into strategy (specifically turn-based and tabletop strategy) and puzzle games (which include puzzle platformers). He's also a big fan of story-rich games and will play through the occasional visual novel as well.

When he tells the former Teiko members he started getting into video games, they make it a point at every subsequent meetup to ask about any current ones he's playing and what he thinks of them. Sometimes, they'll keep an eye out for upcoming games within his favorite genres and show him trailers of games they think he'd like.

Whenever he's invested in a trailer he'll get this sparkle in his eye that the others pretend they don't notice but secretly look out for to know whether or not they're on the right track.

Also, after successfully getting Akashi into video games, the rest of the former Teiko members (mainly Aomine and Kise) convince him to download a few co-op games that they all can play together.

So whenever all of them have free time, Aomine or Kise will send some bat signal message to their group chat to assemble and they all get on their computers to play.

As time goes on, the co-op gaming sessions eventually become a bi-weekly event, and Akashi tries his best to shift his schedule around so he doesn't miss them.

His current teammates at Rakuzan notice him disappearing or being unavailable on certain days and ask Akashi what's been occupying his time so much, thinking that it would be something school-related. When he tells them he's actually just playing co-op games with his former teammates, they think it's the cutest fucking thing ever (especially Mibuchi).

Eventually, video games become more than just a way to pass the time, they become another outlet for Akashi to just... be a regular teen and not have to worry about being perfect at what he's doing? They help relieve his stress and give him something to take his mind off school. And the Uncrowned Kings notice he's happier because of it. Most importantly of all, he gets to connect more with his Teiko friends like he always wanted.

[BONUS]

Sometime in the distant future, after graduating high school, he convinces his father to let him have a one-bedroom apartment close to his campus with the excuse that it'll make commuting easier. After moving in and unpacking his stuff, the former Teiko members get a text in their group chat from Akashi with a picture of a Nintendo Switch and seven controllers with the message "Anyone up for a game?"

Tiiiia!!! OMG! I’m sooooo sorry this request took so damn long. I was saving our precious senpai for last but it’s been a long time. To make up for the MASSIVE delay, I’m making this a three part series (the other two parts will be separate scenarios)

You just stared at the screen, numbers illuminating the board giving the final score of this very intense game; 86-6. Team STRKY played hard and they played well; after all, their team was composed of the best players from five of the best schools around.

“Well that sucks,” Moriyama said, as the score 86-6 flashed on the scoreboard. “Can’t believe they lost.”

“Could you be anymore sympathetic?” Kobori asked, looking at the former shooting guard of his high school almamatre.

“I’m just saying,” Moriyama turned to look at you. “What do you think, (F/N)?”

“They played well,” you said, not tearing your gaze away from the court. “It’s not their fault they lost.” You were solely focused on your boyfriend, worried about how he’s taking this loss; you recalled how hurt he was when Kaijo lost to Too during his third year. Seeing Kasamatsu kneeling on the floor on the locker room that dreadful day in tears, that sight broke your heart-even if you two weren’t together at the time.

“Wonder how Kasamatsu will take it,” Kobori added.

A small smile appeared on your face as you saw Kasamatsu approach the captain of the other team with his hand out. “I think he’s going to take it just fin-” That smile on your face slowly faded when you observed that the captain just stared at his hand as if his hand had the plague; that look gave you a very bad feeling in your gut, that something bad was about to happen

Before either of the males could respond as to how their former captain acted, a reporter approached the two of them on the court.

“Umm…that was an amazing game!” she started, her voice coated in fake excitement, “If you don’t mind, could you say a few words for your fans…”

“I suppose so,” Nash said, taking the mic away from the reporter. “If I were to give my thoughts on this match, it honestly makes me wanna puke. Everyone here…no, I should say, everyone in this country who’s just pretending to play basketball….you should quit and then kill yourselves.”

Kasamatsu, as well as the rest of the team stared at Nash in shock; not only them, but the rest of the audience as well.

“What the hell is this guy’s deal?!” Moriyama exclaimed.

“What disrespect.”

“To make it easier for you all to understand, here’s an anecdote,” Nash started once again. “Take, for example, that there exist monkeys with intelligence on par with humans, and that they like to sumo wrestle. They wear the same wrestling garb, have the same rules, and are more or less doing the same thing.”

Silence covered the audience; the tension so thick, that it could be cut with a knife.

“But then, one day, they come to your country and say to your sumo wrestlers, as if they were on the same level…”Let’s wrestle together”. So what do you think would happen if you were to then wrestle the monkey? You’d want to completely slaughter them obviously.” The blond let out a gruff and loud laugh. “Friendly match…don’t make me laugh. To all of you who brought your children along, i want to crush your hopes and dreams just like if you were the children of the monkeys. To those of you who brought your families along, I want to give them a present of horrible memories.”

“He’s not right in the head,” Kobori added as the American continued.

“A few words? Let’s start with the fact that you should all realize you’re no better than monkeys. Monkeys don’t have the right to play basketball!” Nash laughed.

You couldn’t believe what you just witnessed; that blond haired American just spat on your boyfriend’s hand. Sure, the insults and the suicidal threats made you angry, but spitting on Kasamatsu as if he were a worthless dog (which also isn’t a good thing to do), that made your blood boil

Who does this fucker think- Before you could comprehend what you were doing, you found yourself starting to walk onto the court only to feel a firm grip on the upper part of your arm, preventing you from proceeding any further. “Let go of me,” you growled, turning your head and glaring harshly at Kobori.

“We won’t let you do something rash and risk getting hurt,” he started, “Kasamatsu would kill us if we let anything happen to you.”

“I don’t care,” you said, struggling really hard to get out of his grip-even though you knew it was pointless. “No one talks to Kasamatsu-or anyone in that way. No one spits on someone who’s showing good sportsmanship.”

It's neat to see you writing again. How about Kaiju headcanons? What do they do when they discover their s/o has sneaked a kitten onto campus that she found in the morning so she could take it to a shelter after school?

Hayakawa:

He can’t take his eyes off the small ball of fluff in your arms.

Despite him being loud, Hayakawa adores small animals, and does his best to spend time with them. (Even if they’re not his.)

He doesn’t hesitate to escort you to the shelter after classes, and upon hearing the kitten didn’t have a home, adopts him right away. (Not JUST because you looked sad to give him up, but because he was in love as soon as he saw him.)

Kasamatsu:

His first instinct is to get angry, because animals aren’t allowed on campus (with exceptions of course. But they need to be approved by the principal.)

But he finds himself faltering because the expression on your face is the most adorable thing. (He would NEVER admit that outside of the privacy of his home or yours of course.) His own face begins turning red when both you AND the kitten give him pleading eyes, and he has to turn away, before he has a heart attack.

He reluctantly agrees to helping you care for the little guy, but he does insist on making found posters in case he belongs to someone. Cue his cheeks turning darker when you hug him tight and the kitten nuzzles his cheek with his head.

Kise:

At first, he’s confused as to why you’re trying to hide a small, moving thing underneath a jacket. (His first reaction was almost to shout because it was a mouse...)

But when he does a double-take, he hears the light meowing, and his eyes light up as the small head pokes out, staring at him with pleading eyes.. Kise is immediately in love, and has to TRY to keep quiet so his fangirls won’t harass him for being “cute”.

Needless to say, Kise is smitten. He lets the kitten stay hidden in his jacket the whole class, right up until practice. Where he joins you on the journey to return him to the pound. He does get a little sad having to give him back, so he tries to find another kitten similar to him to adopt instead.

Kobori:

He finds your movements comical, because he can tell you’re hiding something just by watching. Of course he waits until the two of you are alone before addressing the furry friend you have hidden.

Kobori is a gentle and patient guy, so of course he’s understanding when you tell him the scenario, finding his heart melting at your selfless actions. Honestly, it’s the cutest thing to him.

Won’t hesitate to tag along with you, feeling a little sad at the loss of the furry pal he somewhat connected with. Sparks a conversation to potentially adopt one for the two of you when you both attend College.

Moriyama:

Literally makes a scene in front of the basketball team. (Thank god the coach isn’t around, or he would’ve gotten in shit. Not that Kasamatsu didn’t kick his ass for yelling anyway.) Beings snuggling up to the little guy despite frightening him with the initial outburst.

He doesn’t care if he gets scratched up, he’s happy to be getting attention from you AND the kitten. Though most of his is on the tiny ball of fluff in his hands.. (Almost gets caught by the principal three times because he was too loud.)

Ends up being the heartbroken one when it’s time to return the kitten. He grew too close in the short amount of time. But the pound workers had insisted he can come and visit regularly until they find his home.

Nakamura:

Isn’t sure how to respond in the beginning. Between you giving the puppy dog pout, and the kitty staring up at him, he’s at a loss for words.

He does his best to keep a neutral expression, because he doesn’t want people to notice, but he secretly loves kittens. Especially how tiny they are and how they always come to you for affection. (He loves giving it, although he doesn’t look like the kind of guy to enjoy it.)

He is a little upset by the end of the day for having to return it. But he knows it’s something they have to do... Though he asks you to keep the kitten for just a little bit longer.. (It’s hard for him to give him up.)

what would kasamatsu be like in a relationship!

So in a way, my bf is a bit like Kasamatsu-in the sense that he’s new to a relationship (we’ve been together for over a year now) so some of these headcanons are based off of my actual relationship.

First things first, he would be serious about this relationship.

It takes a lot for him to focus on anything else other than basketball and school, so congrats! You’ve made it into his top three!

He’s shy as can be (poor smol bean)

He wouldn’t make the first move in any dating scenario

Since, even though hes with you, he’s still nervous. So you would have to initiate any form of PDA (hand holding, kissing)

This would only last until he grows more comfortable with the fact that you’re his, and he would eventually initiate on his own.

He would say “I love you” first (with his cute stuttering)

Never, would never be late for dates!

He’s punctual and if he’s ever late, he would always message you in advance

Once with him, he will be protective-especially against Kise.

He would be insecure about your relationship, and you would have to reassure him a lot

He’s especially wary around Kise since he finds Kise as being the ‘ideal’ boyfriend

He would allow you to wear his shirts

and he would like it
