@wolfstarmicrofic March 17 – prompt 17: Incarcerous – word count 776
Incarcerous - Conjures ropes
Sirius had been running for the whole night. He had run so much he was now back in London, amidst the morning crowds of November first. As Padfoot, he was dodging people, making others trip, once even scaring off a tabby cat, but he was still running, snout on the ground, following a specific scent. Then, on a busy street, there it was. The scent he had been following melting into another, both achingly familiar, and a figure hurrying away with his head bent. Sirius transformed back, ignoring the fact that Muggles around could see him.
“WORMTAIL!” he shouted.
People around him hurried past, others shot confused looks a this raised wand, but Sirius was only focused on one man, the one who was now turning around, eyes which had been too familiar for years settling on his. Sirius knew James would have asked why, would have waited to hear it from Peter’s voice. But Sirius wasn’t James. And James wasn’t there. He never would be anywhere anymore, and it was because of Peter. He pointed his wand at his old friend, the one he had shared so many years with. Peter too had his wand at the ready, and before Sirius could do anything, he started screaming.
“Lily and James, Sirius!”
Sirius felt those names said by that voice hit him like a punch.
“Lily and James, Sirius!” Peter screamed again. “How could you?!”
Weirdly, Sirius laughed. He could see now how clever the man that had betrayed his childhood best friend was. The Muggles around were now stopping to look at them, a laughing man and a screaming, trembling one. Oh, that would look good later on, he could see it. Framed and put away with the rest of his awful blood family, as if all those years had never happened. Very clever, really.
“How could you?!” Peter added a sob at the end of his scream, which made Sirius laugh even harder.
“INCARCEROUS! PETRIFICUS TOTALUS!”
Sirius’s laugh was cut short as he fell to the ground, arms and legs bound by ropes. In front of him, Peter too had fallen down, eyes wide and still as a statue.
“Tell me it isn’t true,” a voice said. “Tell me I didn’t waste seven years believing in you.”
Sirius twisted his neck only to see a hand brandishing a wand.
“Not in me,” he whispered. “Never in me, Professor.”
Above him, Minerva McGonagall’s face was unpenetrable, despite her red eyes as if she had just stopped crying.
“Explain yourself,” she said as if he was still a teenager and she had just caught him in the middle of a prank.
“We swapped. It was James’s idea, to swap Secret Keeper,” he said, words tumbling down from his mouth. “We thought they would come after me, but we didn’t know they had gotten to him first. He’s the spy in the Order, Professor, believe me! He’s an Animagus, don’t let him turn into a rat and escape, please!”
“I know,” McGonagall said. “Why do you think I petrified him? Besides,” she moved over to Peter and knelt down. “It’s easier to do this this way.”
Sirius already knew what he would see, but still the Dark Mark appearing on his friend’s forearm made his stomach twist. He saw McGonagall briefly close her eyes before she got back up and moved her wand, making the ropes binding him disappear.
“I’m sorry I doubted you,” she said.
“I doubted me too,” Sirius got up. “I was going to kill him, Professor. I was.”
“I understand. But no murder for you, Mr Black. You have a godson to care for now.”
“Harry,” Sirius breathed, the thought of the baby popping into his head shamefully for the first time since the previous night. “Where is he?”
“I brought him to Mr Lupin before tracking you down. Needless to tell you he’s beside himself with grief and worry,” McGonagall said. “You should go to them now, the Aurors will be here soon to take care of all this.”
Sirius nodded.
“Thank you, Professor,” he said, picking up his wand.
“Sirius?”
“Yes?”
Despite her pained expression and her hand still gripping her wand tightly, McGonagall’s eyes were warm.
“I never asked you for anything, but… I think it’s time you settled down now. You have a child to raise, and if my rounds passing the several hidden cupboards in the Hogwarts corridors all those years taught me something, it’s you also have a boyfriend who loves you very much. Do it for them, please.”
“I promise,” Sirius nodded. “We’ll have you over at least once a week for tea,” he added before Disapparating.

It really just occured to me that i have never seen any modern era marauders interpretations where they are giant dorks who are ridiculously skilled in stuff, like for example computer science. i mean they probably created the modern version of the marauders map by cracking the coding of the entry card/security system of the campus and using the data for a special app that they designed which can only be opened with their touch IDs. i mean that’s pretty much what the marauders map is in today’s tech-driven context, isn’t it?

NSFW prompts can only be submitted by 18+ contributors and will be assigned to 18+ volunteers only.
Prompts need to be worded clearly to avoid confusion, and they can’t include more than four Marauders era characters. Contributors can specify if they prefer a fic or a drawing, but the final product will depend on availability and may change. Prompts will be assigned randomly.
The prompts may not contain: religious material, gore, explicit violence, incest, or non-con. Dead dove prompts are not allowed and hateful or politically inclined prompts will be automatically deleted.
*This project is entirely non-profit and all money contributed by those who submit prompts is sent directly to the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund.

Game Day
For @goodboylupin 's Candy Hearts Challenge. My prompt was U R #1
1977
The first quidditch match of seventh year was set to be a tense one. As always, Slytherin and Gryffindor were the first teams that would face off. It was James's last season as captain and he was determined to go out on a win. The opposing captain was Regulus Black. It was his first year as captain and he wanted to start on a high.
And then there was Sirius, who had been welcomed back to the team after a year's suspension and would be facing his brother for the first time since leaving Grimmauld Place. He had been practising with James all summer, trying to get back to where he was before he took the time off. He was looking good, possibly better than he'd ever been, but it wasn't enough for him.
Sirius had spent every night on the Quidditch pitch for weeks. Remus had followed him out, braving the cold evenings to sit on the stands and watch his boyfriend hit bludgers back and forth with startling accuracy. Remus had practically had to drag him back to the dorms the closer it got to the game.
Sirius was exhausted leading up to the game. He was overworking himself and still wasn't happy with his performance. He didn't just want to be good. He wanted to be perfect. For James. For himself. Even for Regulus, at least a little. Remus was worried. He had to do something.
He started with gentle encouragement, watching Sirius's every move at practice and telling Sirius everything he did well as they walked to the dorms together. Sirius would blush and smile at the ground bashfully. When that stopped working, when Sirius stopped taking him seriously and began talking down on himself, Remus switched tactics. He'd head down to the pitch with a thermos of herbal tea for Sirius and walk to the castle with his boyfriend in silence. When they got to the dorms, Remus would massage Sirius's sore muscles and put salve on any bruises he'd acquired that day before they lay down to sleep.
The night before the game, James had physically withheld Sirius from going to the pitch and carried him back to the dorm, insisting that he get a full night's sleep to be at his best. Remus waited until he was snoring gently before extracting himself from Sirius's grasp and sneaking back to the common room to meet Lily. He felt bad leaving Sirius alone, but he would be back soon, and it would be worth it when Sirius saw what they had been doing.
The next morning, the quidditch team was first at the breakfast table, meaning Remus, Lily and Peter were also present, if much more sleepy. Sirius pressed a kiss to Remus's head before he left for warmup, muttering something about a good luck charm that made Remus smile into his second cup of coffee.
The game started a while later, and it was tight from the beginning. The Slytherin team was ruthless, breaking a few rules and attempting to shove Gryffindor players off their brooms, but the Gryffindors were good flyers and held their own. It took a long time for a point to be scored, James finally breaking through Slytherin's defence and putting the quaffle through the middle hoop as Sirius hit a bludger at the Keeper, distracting him from blocking the point.
The crowd cheered for the two marauders and Sirius grinned, searching the crowd for his boyfriend. He finally spotted him and his eyes widened slightly in surprise.
Remus Lupin, who always brought a book to quidditch matches, who barely bothered to wear a Gryffindor scarf to the games, was decked out in Gryffindor colours, wearing Sirius's old quidditch jersey that he had charmed to fit him. Next to him was Lily Evans, also dressed up with her boyfriend's jersey. They were hiding a sign between them, a beautifully drawn lion at the bottom - likely Lily's work - with words in gold spanning the length of the sign.
POTTER AND BLACK
U R #1
Sirius was nearly hit by a bludger as he stared at the sign, snapping back to attention as Marlene flew up next to him and slapped him upside the head. He blew a kiss to Remus before refocusing on the game.
Sirius didn't miss a single hit for the rest of the game, managing to defend the chasers in perfect sync with Marlene. He eventually hit a bludger towards his brother, blocking the seeker's path and allowing Gryffindor to catch the snitch. He flew straight to Remus when the game ended, ignoring the team's celebration on the ground. Remus caught him easily and wrapped him in a tight hug.
"Brilliant," he whispered into Sirius's hair. "You're bsolutely brilliant."

I've realised that I've never really introduced myself on this blog, or really spoken about myself at all. I'm pretty socially awkward in real life and don't really know how to do the social thing online either, so I just never really thought about it until now.
So hello! My name's Sam. I'm a 22yo law student who uses writing to keep myself sane. My personal blog (@sam-stevens-writes) contains my original prose, which is often very personal and a lil dramatic, since I use that blog as a kind of diary.
I'm ace and gay. I hate JKR and want to contribute to making this fandom something she'd hate. I'm here because I love writing and I love sharing my writing with you, but I do disappear occasionally when life gets overwhelming.
So, that's me. Sorry it's taken me this long introduce myself.

Mission Accomplished
Part two to this, but can be read as a standalone. Written for @jilymicrofics February 25 - sentimental
James was going to propose that night. Lily knew it as well as anyone. It was a Wednesday, their usual date night, and James had somehow gotten a reservation at their favourite restaurant despite the owner's firm policy against reservations. It wasn't a special date, not their anniversary or Valentine's or anything, but it was a special place. The restaurant was where their first date had taken place in the summer before seventh year. They didn't go there often, not unless it was a special occasion, so Lily knew that tonight was the night.
For all his scheming and mischief, James Potter was not a subtle man. He had spent the past few weeks having secret meetings with the marauders while she was out. She had once walked in on them, having finished her work early, and the conversation had immediately stopped when she walked in the room. She was also pretty sure James had gone to see her parents the past weekend while she was out with Mary. He had come home in an incredibly good mood and her mom had been in equally good spirits that night when they had their weekly phone call.
She had done her best to help James with his plans, albeit subtly. On her weekly coffee date with Sirius, she had steered him past a jewellery shop and made sure to give details about her ring preferences to him in hopes he'd pass them on. She had lent her camera to Remus when he asked without asking tooany questions, knowing he hated lying and was terrible when put on the spot. She knew the ring was hidden somewhere in the house and that if she tried, she could probably find it, but she hadn't gone looking. She would see it soon.
Lily dressed carefully for their date that evening. It wasn't a formal place, but she took care to wear something nice, knowing there would be pictures. She found herself feeling quite sentimental as they walked to the restaurant hand in hand, remembering there first date like it was yesterday. James had been so nervous, stumbling over his words and fidgeting constantly. It was a far cry from the man walking beside her now, holding her hand loosely and chatting to her with ease, completely confident.
They were seated on the patio, sparkling lights overhead and a cool breeze keeping them comfortable. Lily spied a familiar couple across the street on a bench, conspicuously hiding their faces behind newspapers.
She and James ordered their usual favourites, and she almost forgot what was happening as they fell into comfortable conversation. It was after they ordered dessert that James started fidgeting, cracking his knuckles and messing with his hair. She reached across the table for his hand and gave him a knowing smile. He smiled back easily and scooted his chair back a little.
"You're too smart to not know what's going on tonight," he said. "I have something I want to ask you, if you'll let me."
She nodded, unable to speak as her eyes started to sting with tears.
"Lily," he started. "I think I've loved you since the first time I saw you, back when I was an eleven year old with a head too big for his shoulders and no common sense. It's been an incredible privilege to get to be with you and to fall more in love with you every day. I don't know who I am without you anymore and I don't want to find out."
He moved over to kneel next to their table, holding out a ring to her.
"Lily Evans, will you marry me?"
She leaned forward to cup his cheek.
"Of course I will," she said. "You know that."
There was a camera flashing and applause from the other patrons as James slid the ring onto her finger, but she didn't really care. All she cared about was the man in front of her with his messy hair and crooked glasses, smiling at her like she hung the moon. James Potter. Her fiancé.

Moonstruck
Written for @wolfstarmicrofic prompt 22 February - moonstruck (650 words)
The first time they saw the wolf, Sirius was stunned. Remus had made them wait outside during the transformation. He told them to make sure they were in animal form before they came in. He didn't want to take any risks, none of them did.
So the first time Sirius saw the wolf, it was muted. He was in dog form, colours washed out and scents overwhelming his senses, but he was still amazed. The wolf was huge, almost as big as Prongs, with sharp teeth and predatory eyes. But he was also skinny, ribs sticking out through his fur, and had patchy fur from years of being left on his own to destroy himself. He didn't seem to want to attack the new animals in the shack either. He approached them slowly and sniffed them apprehensively. Eventually, with some persuasion from Padfoot, he began to trust them, and the nights of the full moon became full of games and running freely in the forest.
10 years later, the amazement of seeing the wolf had faded. They had spent almost every full moon together for a decade, and Padfoot and Moony were almost as close as their human counterparts. It had been just the two of them for years now. Peter had stopped joining them at the end of school, when his job at the ministry got too busy for him to take the time off. James had stayed on until Harry was born and he decided to become a stay-at-home dad. Both of them had offered to come back in the years since, but Sirius and Remus had never needed them. They had their routine down: dinner, apparate to the edge of the forbidden forest, walk to the clearing, wait. The next morning, Sirius would heal any injuries and get them back home, and they'd sleep it off for the next day, snuggled close to each other.
The February full moon of 1985 was different for the first time in a decade. Damocles Belby and Lily Potter had had a breakthrough. After years of development and testing, the Wolfsbane potion was complete. And it worked. The Sleekeazy company had funded the project and as a result the potion was now available for any werewolves who needed it. For free.
Remus had been taking the potion for the days up to the full moon, wincing and retching at the taste, but trusting Lily's judgement and expertise. This was a life changer. He could stomach the awful taste if it meant keeping his mind at the full moon.
The transformation was the same as always, despite a change in location. Sirius had to hold back tears as he listened to Remus's screams echoing throughout their flat, grateful for the silencing charms keeping their neighbours from hearing the noise.
When Remus emerged from their bedroom, still insisting on transforming out of sight, Sirius was struck by the sight of the wolf for the first time since he was fifteen. He was used the the size of the animal by now, as well as the lush fur and healthy appearance that had come in the years the marauders had spent with Moony, but this was the first time he had seen the wolf in his human form. For the first time, he could sink his fingers into the coarse fur and bury his face in the wolf's neck the way Remus did with Padfoot.
The wolf flopped down on his lap, crushing his legs beneath his massive body. Sirius laughed and leaned back against the couch, burying his hand in the wolf's fur as he got comfortable. Moony fell asleep there, his breath coming in heavy huffs. After a while, Sirius fell asleep too, mindless of the spasm his neck would surely be tomorrow and fully aware of the way he was falling more in love with Remus every day.

Part of my Sirius headcanon is that he never killed anyone during wartime, but James and Remus did. Remus accepts quietly that it's simply a part of war, James agonizes over it and is forever changed, but Sirius is never faced with the necessity to kill someone.
While I do think Sirius would torture someone/kill for someone he loves, I reeeeeeally like the idea that he ends up in Azkaban with his soul completely intact. Just the irony that he's one of the few people in the Order who's never killed anyone but ends up incarcerated for murder... too tasty.

February started with false hopes of a ceasefire.
It is now February 15 and the largest medical facility in South Gaza, which sheltered ~2,500 people and had been under siege for two weeks, has been attacked. It is now completely out of function.
We are 21 days away from marking 5 months of ongoing genocide.
Here are several posts with numerous donation links & other ways to help. I’ll also include the tag I use for those posts, where you’ll find individual gofundme’s listed as well. There is also Operation Olive Branch, which has an excel sheet of numerous families in Gaza & how to donate to them + how to contact them. If you can afford it, please consider donating and please, please remember to scroll down to donate to families at the bottom of the list. If you cannot give, please simply share as many resources as you find.
