Catch me crying in the club (my room) about Gilbert Baker & how this man's life will have and has had a massive ripple through the lives of millions. I hope he knew how much his rainbow meant for us. I see teenagers wrapped in his rainbow like a cape, running around in public, and I hope he felt that same proud heartbreak I feel, even though I know he never made good enough money off the flag to even pay rent. I hope it was sweeter than it was bitter. I hope he knew.

parents please check your kids' halloween candy. just found the idea that Heaven is not a place of pleasure, but monotony, similarly to a suburb with with every house, lawn, and fence in monochrome rows, which would be my personal Hell inside of a peanut butter cup.

[ID: white text on a black backdrop which reads:
Christianity:
The belief that some cosmic Jewish Zombie can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him that you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree.
Makes perfect sense.
End ID.]
As a linguistics nerd at heart I do love myself some thematic deconstruction; and yanno when you believe your god can do anything you really get full creative license.
Of course that all makes sense when you're in it and raised on it; but when you finally make it out you start wondering how you rationalized it all (trick question: you usually didn't rationalize it at all - "faith" is supposed to mean taking things you don't understand and simply trusting that they make sense to... some authority who knows better. And trying to rationalize it is usually punished!) It doesn't make you stupid to have to leave things on faith while you're in, you're trying to survive without making your brain explode.
Once you're out though, sometimes it's cathartic to have a dark laugh at your former stress.
I've got several long rants about faith locked and loaded, honestly, but for now...
In honor of Halloween... zombie christ! 🧟‍♂️ sooouls

not an unpopular opinion at all but the left/the communist movement/whatever needs to reclaim secularism. secularism is one of the best ideas that came out of the enlightenment. we should oppose christian fundamentalism, chasidic/haredi fundamentalism, islamic fundamentalism, and every other form of religious extremism.
children should be entitled to a secular education, and vulnerable groups like women, children, LGBTQ people, etc should be safe from the harm caused by religious fundamentalists.

Dude, there’s literal CIA documents on shifting. Seriously, it’s real. I can’t make you believe anything but telling someone to seek mental help over something they put their heart into is wrong. They’re not crazy. They just have their own dreams to follow. And I’d bet you seriously know nothing about it. I had really liked you before and your account but i’m just disappointed of you now. To some people, what you said would be like if someone told you to seek mental help or to go to a psych ward for being autistic. Again, you’re completely entitled to your own opinion, but you didn’t have to say it in a rude and ignorant way.
Dude, I never told anyone to go to a psych ward. Reality shifting is a lie created by internet influencers to take advantage of the mentally ill. And CIA documents? Show them to me and maybe I’ll believe you, but I know you won’t come off anon. Idgaf if you don’t like me anymore. I’m not going to believe in reality shifting and I stand by what I said for reality shifters to seek therapy. It’s not bad to tell someone to seek therapy. I’m in therapy. And it works. I know enough about it to make my own damn opinion. And my opinion is that it is preying on people’s mental health in a great time of trouble and need for escapism. I’ve seen people get incredibly distressed over things they’ve done in these alternate realities. Some people want to stay there. None of that is healthy.

After all the years of abuse I had to endure, I don't want to hear a single Jesus freak tell me how it was all "god's plan" or that "god didn't intend it to be that way." Go fuck yourselves and stay away from abuse victims/survivors.

Psalm 137:9 "Happy is the one who seizes your infants || and dashes them against the rocks."
1 Samuel 15:3-4 "and attack Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and do not spare them. But kill both man and woman, infant and nursing child, ox and sheep, camel and donkey” (there's lots of similar verses, due to the prevalence of war and conquest)
2 Samuel 12:15, 18 "After Nathan had gone home, the Lord struck the child that Uriah’s wife had borne to David, and he became ill. ... On the seventh day, the child died."
Have you ever actually read the Bible? No, God did not "dare" anyone to kill a baby nor did he command such a thing. People will fabricate anything to criticize the Bible.
he said "rip that baby up" in a game show host voice, very distasteful

It really is wild how people who don't understand what consent is really do not understand what consent is. The idea that they're supposed to know how someone wants to be treated, and err to the side of caution or even ask if they aren't sure is absurd when you genuinely do not understand the concept.
"What, you need consent for everything these days?" Literally yes. And not just these days, but always have and always will.
"Do I need consent to kiss my wife in the morning? Do I need consent to shake someone's hand after a business meeting? Do I need CoNsEnT to braid my daughter's hair?"
Yes, yes and yes. A neurotypical person of reasonably passable social skill should have the ability to either instinctively understand when their touch is welcome, or logically conclude when their touch is socially expected. If you truly, literally, genuinely cannot tell whether your own child delights in you playing with her hair or merely endures it, then yeah, maybe you shouldn't touch anyone at all, ever, before you learn how to do that.
"Do I need consent to make eye contact with strangers on the street? Do I need consent from everyone on board before I get on the bus?"
Okay now you're just throwing a tantrum because someone told you 'no'.

To be fair I am very angry all the time but it's mostly because of the fact that I live in hell a place with a serious healthcare, infrastructure, & housing crisis & one of my political candidates thinks he'll solve all our problems with [drumroll] Bitcoin.
Any non-Christian: Please don’t call me a cultural Christian, I am not a Christian and it’s kind of shitty to force a religious identity on someone you don’t even know
Half the people on this site: Aww sweetie :) If you weren’t so busy being a bitter angry atheist :) you would know that OBVIOUSLY you still hold a bunch of Christian ideologies like (long list of ideologies that are universal among humans and have nothing whatsoever to do with religion). So maybe :) you should work on unpacking all of the bigotries you obviously believe in, such as (long list of random bigotries that OP has never alluded to whatsoever and are DEFINITELY not exclusive to Christianity). If people saying that you’re a brainwashed idiot who is forever tainted by your association with Christians upsets you :) that just means you know we’re right and you’re angry about it :) Because all atheists are angry all the time of course :)

Christians pleading with non christians to join them out of fear of the rapture and hell are the most depressing ones. You're standing in front of a giant problem with your religion and identifying with it instead of going "wait what the fuck, this is immoral!"

I have met dozens of sweet, kind christians who were nevertheless still wholly complicit and active participants in religiously-endorsed abuses and injustices (typically of children). The very basis of the religion warps your worldview to the point of making otherwise moral people perform immoral actions & inactions in the name of their god.
