Creo que con todas las crisis posibles que nos inventamos las personas a lo largo de nuestra vida, dentro del paquete de “La crisis de los 30” que me descargué a mi disco duro el año pasado venía incluida una extensión relacionada con cómo me visto. Me cuesta hablar de mí, me cuesta comenzar frases con “Yo soy…”, me cuesta definirme, pero poco a poco voy conociéndome y aceptándome (todavía más importante). La ropa puede parecer un tema banal, no voy a citar a Miranda Priestly para desacreditar esta afirmación, aunque podría (if you know, you know). Aunque si estás leyendo esto es probable que eres de las mías, sabes que la ropa es mucho más que pedazos de tela que te cubre el cuerpo. Todo esto para decir que estoy revolucionando mi armario para redefinir qué se queda, qué se va y qué entra. Siento que me he alargado más en la introducción que en el quid de la cuestión, pero hasta aquí por hoy. Me encanta este look con un traje de mi madre, polo y boina de segunda mano, bolso y pendientes de Júlia, zapas regalo de Aitor y el anillo más grande que tengo hecho por mí, con mis manitas. ¿Este es mi nuevo avatar? ¿El avatar de una nueva era? Puede.

I think that with all the possible crises that we people invent throughout our lives, the “Midlife Crisis” package that I downloaded to my hard drive last year included an extension related to how I dress. Me siento muy poco preparada para este verano primaveral que nos acecha y el destape que conlleva, sobre todo no estoy preparada are dejar de ponerme jerseys gigantes, pero algo que si me encanta de estas épocas de entretiempo son estos looks como raros en los que mezclamos prendas de invierno y verano. Siempre me ha parecido super divertido y curioso, y este jersey + falda de volantes están siendo mi combo perfecta, con camiseta XXL de manga corta debajo, ya sea con deportivas o botines. Al final la moda está para divertirse y atreverse con estas combos. 

*Ah, y a partir de ahora llevo coleteros XXL. Por casa, en la calle y en el gym. Creo que hacen la crisis de los 30 más llevadera y me recuerdan que aún soy un bebote.

I feel quite unprepared for this spring summer that is approaching us and the skin exposure that it entails, above all I am not prepared to stop wearing giant sweaters, but something that I do love about these half-time seasons without doubt are these strange looks in which we mix winter and summer clothes. I have always found it super fun and curious, and this sweater + ruffle skirt is my perfect combo, with an XXL short-sleeved t-shirt underneath, either with sneakers or ankle boots. In the end, fashion is for having fun and daring with these combos.

Si mi vida da un vuelco inesperado, seguramente aumente mi ratio de clases de ballet semanales y madrugue para ir a yoga. Eso es lo que me mantiene conectada con lo que realmente siento que soy (al menos ahora, en este preciso momento). Por eso, cuido tanto poder mantener estos espacios para mí siempre dentro de mi rutina. Así es como acabo vestida de deporte muchísimos días y desde que encontré este forro polar maravillosamente calentito, que abraza más que viste, no me lo quito. ¿Decir mi look más “yo” da cringe? Espero que no porque es bastante ajustado a la realidad.

If my life takes an unexpected turn, I'll probably increase my weekly ballet class ratio and get up early to go to yoga. That's what keeps me connected to who I really feel I am (at least now, at this very moment). That's why I take great care to always keep these spaces for myself within my routine. Happy Birthday Júlia

Hace más de diez años que digo, con la cabeza bien alta, con el pecho hinchado y con la boca llena de gratitud, que Júlia es de mis mejores amigas. Ya hacía otros tantos años que sabía quién era, la veía por los pasillos del instituto y la veía porque me fijaba en ella. Mírala ella, qué segura, qué atrevida, qué única. Lejos de que esa confianza que proyectaba me generara rechazo, me generó admiración (nunca he sido de sentir rechazo por seres así, envidia sí, por supuesto, pero no rechazo). Júlia se acercó a mí en un momento de mi vida en el que mi confianza tenía una orden de busca y captura, se había fugado sin dejar ni una notita de despedida. Quizá se había ido para regresar a través de ella, de sus tremendos ojos que puede que a veces los tenga medio cerrados pero siempre te atraviesan. Hoy es su cumple. Sé que el último año ha sido un año raro, lo diremos así, en una palabra de cuatro letras porque no es ni el momento ni el lugar para diseccionar estos 365 días. Repito, ha sido un año raro. Por eso, ojalá poder regalarle, esta vez, mis ojos. Para que pueda contemplarse con menos severidad y más mimo. Para que pueda observarse como yo lo hago, con todavía más admiración que la que sentía mi yo adolescente. Yo la veo y veo esa cara que habla a borbotones, ese carácter invencible capaz de, os juro, cualquier cosa (me acabo de dar cuenta de que tal vez por eso le gustan los superhéroes), esos trozos de tela que los mortales llamamos ropa y ella eleva a piezas de arte, ese estilo genuino que aporta a todo lo que toca, esa sabiduría infinita ¿qué? vale, ya sé que su cerebro cruza números y letras, pero también recopila información, datos, reflexiones y argumentos para dejarte sin reservas de saliva en cualquier conversación (y escribo con conocimiento de causa). Y qué me decís de su generosidad extrema y de su empatía telemática. Voy a dejar la enumeración solo porque soy de la opinión que un mensaje, a menudo, cala más si es corto y ya llego tarde para eso, como siempre. Felicitadla. Es la mejor.

2014-2024

Hace 10 años decidimos mover nuestros álbumes privados de facebook a un blog para poder acompañar las fotos de textos y así tener un diario-testigo de nuestra amistad. 10 años dan para mucho. Hay cosas que no han cambiado nada, como la intención de este espacio; un espacio seguro para las dos donde poder ser creativas sin límites y poder expresarnos creando fotos, narrativas e incluso personajes. Tampoco ha cambiado nuestro amor por las fotos en la bañera, que las Navidades solo sean de un color y que los veranos estén llenos de carcajadas. Por otro lado, nuestra tendencia a poner morritos en las fotos se ha suavizado y ya hemos perfeccionado nuestra pose en los selfies, además también hemos mejorado bastante en nuestros lookets - Amalia ha dejado los pinchos de lado y se ha rendido a su lado Coquette y Júlia ha guardado el lapiz de ojos negro para mostrar el potencial de su mirada. Algunos que vinieron ya se han ido y otras que para entonces eran solo sueños ahora son realidades. Pues eso, 10 años dan para mucho. Decir que lo importante es que seguimos queriéndonos como entonces sería falso, porque nos queremos diez veces más (como mínimo).

10 years ago we decided to move our private Facebook albums to a blog to being able to accompany the photos with texts and thus have a diary-witness of our friendship. 10 years goes a long way. De pequeña fui varias veces a París, tengo algunos recuerdos y muchas fotos en los álbumes familiares. Quizá por eso o quizá por el romanticismo que me invade a veces, tenía muchas ganas de volver a redescubrir la ciudad ahora por mi cuenta (o por nuestra cuenta, podría decir). Visitamos museos, caminamos kilómetros y kilómetros, comimos fenomenal y nos perdimos en el mercado de las pulgas. Aquí unas fotitos después de comprarme finalmente esta chaqueta después de que cinco personas me dijeran que parecía hecha para mí.

When I was a kid I went to Paris several times, I have some memories and many photos in family albums. Maybe because of that or maybe because of the romanticism that sometimes invades me, I really wanted to rediscover the city now on my own (or on our own, I could say). We visited museums, walked miles and miles, ate amazing food, and got lost at the flea market. Here are some photos after finally agreeing on buying this jacket after five people told me that it looked like it was made for me.

Justo antes de irme a trabajar a Suiza pasé por L&V Estilistes para repasar el corte y retocar las raíces. La última vez le dimos más luz pero solo por delante, para ver si me veía bien. Como me encantó, esta vez ya hicieron un super trabajo en toda la melena para darle distintas dimensiones, tonos y profundidad.

Desde que decidí dejarme el pelo largo, o al menos intentarlo, pensé que ya era hora de dejar de llevar ese tono tan ultra naranja, como lo llevaba antes de raparme, esencialmente pensé que ya era hora de tener una melena castaña normal y corriente, lo más natural posible. Sin embargo, mi pelo tenia otros planes… Siempre he sido castaña con un reflejo muy cobre, así que a no ser que me lo oscurezca, lo que es un rollo por el tema raiz, resulta bastante complicado de mantener y después de mil matices e intentonas que duraban menos que un suspiro me he rendido. Que mi pelo sea lo que quiera ser. Hicimos un gloss natural del mismo matiz que mi reflejo para dar homogeneidad, brillo, y matizar algún mechón más rubio, y ale, ¡se acabó! Usaron el Shinefinity de Wella, un gloss super natural y que se va con los lavados y te deja el pelo ultra sedoso y brillante, no lo había probado aún y me parece un super producto para los que necesitan solo un plus de color o brillo, ideal.

Pero vaya que al final mi objetivo era tener el pelo lo más natural posible, así que, contrariamente a lo que yo creía, que natural significaba castaño o marrón, ha resultado que el copper es lo más natural para mí.

La verdad es que me siento muy muy yo. Y también me alegro de no tener que estar constantemente haciéndome mascarillas y matices para matar mi reflejo y mantener el castaño. Que tenga mantenimiento fácil también tan importante como a que quedara natural, y ahora sólo hará falta tapar las canas cada un par de meses y matiz para igualar, pero en casa no tengo que hacer nada de nada. Tal vez no será el color que se vea más natural para mucha gente pero, puesto que es lo más práctico y fácil, sí lo es para mi.

Just before I went off to work in Switzerland I stopped by L&V Estilistes to review the cut and touch up the roots. The last time we gave it more light but only from the front, to see if I would like it. As I loved it, this time they did a great job on the entire mane to give it different dimensions, tones and depth. Since I decided to let my hair grow, or at least try to, I thought it was time to stop wearing that extra orange tone, the one I wore before shaving my hair, essentially I thought it was time to have regular brown hair, as natural as possible. However, my hair had other plans… I have always been light brunette with a very copper reflection, so unless I darken it, which is a bummer because of the root issue, it is quite complicated to maintain and after a thousand shades and attempts that lasted less than a breath I have given up. Let my hair be what it wants to be. We did a natural gloss of the same shade as my reflection to give homogeneity, shine, and tone some blonder strands, and that's it! They used Wella's Shinefinity, a super natural gloss that washes away and leaves your hair ultra silky and shiny. I hadn't tried it yet and it seems like a great product for those who just need an extra bit of color or shine. Ideal. But in the end my goal was to have my hair as natural as possible so, contrary to what I believed, that natural meant brown, it turned out that copper is the most natural choice for me. The truth is that I feel very very like myself. And I'm also glad that I don't have to constantly do masks and toning to kill my reflection and maintain my brown color. That it has easy maintenance is also as important as that it looks natural, and now it will only be necessary to cover the gray hair every couple of months and tone it to match, but at home I don't have to do anything at all. Maybe it won't be the color that looks the most natural for many people but, since it is the most practical and easy, it is for me.

Este 2024 ya me ha enseñado una cosa de mi que no sabía. Siento muchísima paz y alivo cuando levanto la cabeza y estoy en lugares en los que, hasta donde me abarca la vista, solo hay naturaleza, árboles, montañas, animales, nieve… Fuimos a Suiza a trabajar unos días y no he podido disfrutar más de sus vistas, incluso de su tiempo. Os dejo algunas fotos de nuestro viaje de casi tres horas a través de las montañas hasta llegar a Davos junto a algunas fotillos de mis rincones favoritos.

This 2024 has already taught me something about myself that I didn't know. I feel a lot of peace and relief when I raise my head and I am in places where, as far as I can see, there is only nature, trees, mountains, animals, snow… We went to Switzerland to work for a few days and I have not been able to enjoy it more. its views, even of its time. Hacer listas mentales es una de mis especialidades, incluso cuando no quiero hacerlo, mi cerebro funciona así. Una de esas listas se llama “Las cosas que más me gustan de vivir en Barcelona” e incluye cosas como “pasear hasta descubrir un bar o una cafetería y sentarme a tomar algo, porqué sí". Ese día pasó eso y además estrené un jersey de segunda mano que me había comprado justo esa mañana. Tengo pendiente añadir eso a la lista, también.

Making mental lists is one of my specialties, even when I don't want to do it, that's how my brain works. One of those lists is called "The things I like the most about living in Barcelona" and includes things like "walking around until I discover a bar or a cafe and sitting down to have a drink, just because." Me encanta ir con tejanos pero no os miento si os digo que estos son los únicos que tengo que me quedan bien, son la prenda que más dolores de cabeza me da. Todo y ser una persona con un cuerpo normativo me resulta imposible encontrar unos tejanos que me vayan cómodos y me queden medianamente bien, a no ser que sean de tejidos ultra finos y elásticos que te marcan todo- que eso para mi no e sun tejano, es un legging. Al final solo he podido hacer una cosa; comprar unos que me vayan cómodos de cadera, aunque sean un par de tallas más grande de lo que me tocaría, y luego hacer la matara de ajustar la cintura. En invierno me gusta mucho combinarlos con abrigos largos y zapatos, para darles un toque menos casual y más chic.

I love wearing jeans but I’m not lying if I tell you that these are the only ones I have that fit me well, they are the garment that give me the most headaches. Even though having a normative body, it is impossible for me to find jeans that are comfortable and fit me moderately well, unless they are made of thin-elastic fabrics that mark everything - those for me are not a jeans, they’re leggings. In the end I have only been able to find one solution; buy ones that are comfortable on my hips, even if they are a couple of sizes larger than my usual fit, and then spent ages adjusting the waist. In winter I really like to combine them with long coats and shoes, to give them a less casual and more chic touch.

Es cierto que siempre me supone un reto combinar esta chaqueta, pero, cuando lo consigo, me encanta. El otro día me vestí así para ir al cine y me sentí tan "yo" que he querido repetir.

I don't need excuses to wear a leopard print garment so if I find out that it is one of the trends of 2024, I won't take it off anymore. Esta vez con L&V Estilistes nos atrevimos a darle mucha más forma a mi melena y con ello resultó, por fin, el corte perfecto. Mi idea es ir dejándome el pelo lo más largo que mi paciencia me permita, e ir adaptando un corte tipo mariposa poco a poco, mientras vaya creciendo. Es un corte ideal para las personas con mucha cantidad de pelo; se corta a capas que dan mucho movimiento y, a la vez, mucho volumen. La parte más importante de este tipo de peinados es el “face-framing”, las capas que enmarcan la cara desde el pómulo, y a eso le hemos añadido un flequillo largo que me da mucho juego a la hora de hacerme distintos recogidos. Pero para acabar de conseguir este efecto de movimiento que tanto caracteriza a este corte nos faltaba dar algo de profundidad y dimensión al color, así que nos hemos atrevido con algunos toques de luz. Aunque si os soy sincera este año mi mayor prioridad es tener una melena que se vea sana y natural por encima de todo, así que lo más importante que hicimos fue hacer el tratamiento en peluquería de Olaplex que te deja el pelo como nuevo, más que nuevo virgen, como dicen ellas. Siempre lo recomiendo. Estoy muy feliz con este corte, han sido ya dos años para llegar hasta aquí, hasta llevar el pelo suelto al natural y sin sentirme super incómoda. ¡Qué bien, qué bien! Gracias L&V Estilistes por siempre estar sea cual sea el proceso en el que me encuentre.

This time with L&V Estilistes we dared to give my hair much more shape and this finally resulted into the perfect haircut. My idea is to leave my hair as long as my patience allows, and adapt a butterfly cut little by little, as it grows. It is an ideal cut for people with a lot of hair; It is cut in layers that give a lot of movement and, at the same time, a lot of volume. The most important part of this type of hairstyle is the “face-framing”, the layers that frame the face from the cheekbone, and we also have added long bangs that give me a lot of options when it comes on doing different updos. But to finish achieving this movement effect that so characterizes this cut, we needed to give some depth and dimension to the color, so we dared with some highlights. Although if I'm honest this year my biggest priority is to have hair that looks healthy and natural above anything else, so the most important thing we did was doing the Olaplex salon treatment that leaves your hair feeling like new, more than new virgin, as they say. I always recommend it. I am very happy with this cut, it has been two years to get here, to wear my hair down naturally and without feeling super uncomfortable. Yayyy! No sé si seré coquette, pero lo que si sé es que siempre me han gustado los lazos y los motivos románticos. Y, aunque no podría escoger solo un estilo definido, este sin duda estaría en la lista. Ahora estos zapatos han desbloqueado un montón de looks que combinan prendas que ya tenía, pero desde otra perspectiva. ¿Y los calcetines de corazones? Enamorada por completo.
