First of all, regardless of a ship - why wouldn’t he respect her? Please give an instance where he disrespects her and shits on her name? Why would he spend months training her if he didn’t care? And please tell me why he wouldn’t be upset when she was kidnapped for the rite. No matter what no one could save the girls and at least they are trained to take care of themselves! They didn’t need anyone to save them.. unlike someone else…
If you’re interested in sharing/having proof, then I can give you all the proof you want! There is A LOT of information “based on what’s written in the books” to support Gwynriel as a ship!

He tapped his brother’s chest with a scarred hand. “Right here—you’d know, Cass.” “There are plenty of other unspeakable things that could be happening to her,” Cassian said, voice thickening. “To Emerie and Gwyn.” The shadows deepened around Azriel, his Siphons gleaming like cobalt fire. “You—we—trained them well, Cassian. Trust in that. It’s all we can do.”

Anyways, saying Azriel wasn’t upset about their kidnapping is a lie. If you paid attention to the text, his siphons gleam to their highest intensity as SJM states it appears like a “cobalt fire.” After mentioning Gwyn getting hurt he clearly shows his feelings about their kidnapping. His shadows also have a reaction as they “deepened around Azriel;” Since his shadows are a major part of him and his identity, they are a very telling sign of his feelings and emotions. Any chance SJM can get at describing a way Azriel is feeling, his shadows are mentioned- either dancing (cough cough around gwyn ) hiding, darkening, lightening. You would even agree that they are used to describe how he feels around Elain. Having them deepen as a reaction to hearing about Gwyn and the girls getting hurt shows he cares, and is just as conflicted as Cassian. He just knows he cannot do anything about saving them- the high lord couldn’t even do anything to save his god damn sister in law!
Prior to even knowing Elain, Azriel saved Gwyn first. When Gwyn’s temple was being invaded by Hybern, it was Azriel who slaughtered the soldiers who were raping Gwyn. He rescues Gwyn, regardless of even knowing who she is. Gwyn experienced something horrific and traumatizing, Azriel obviously knows this and respects that. If he didn’t he’d be a terrible person and a disgusting character, who wouldn’t dare qualify as a favourite. You cannot say that Azriel doesn’t care for Gwyn and her well-being, or has respect for the challenges and difficulties she’s overcome. Going as far to say he doesn’t even see her as a friend? I mean we read all read the same bonus chapter, no? Clearly, there are some feelings there.
At the end of the day, I don’t care who you ship. Ship who you want! It’s just a book and fictional relationships, however, it is not okay to diminish someone else’s opinion. You’ve proven your side (poorly, might I add) but you have ignored a lot of context just to make your ship look better. You have to agree there are a lot of signs going for both ships, so do not go on about “willfully ignoring the text.” Be honest with yourself because you are the one “ignoring the text”
There’s your cannon to back it up.
