[StrangerVille] Two years later, Eloise returns, fully recovered. She introduces Riley to his son, Kirk.
Without the aliens' superior technology, but she and her unborn son would have died from the alien disease, but after recuperating on her home planet, she is fully cured.
They raise Kirk together in the Layne house in StrangerVille, with Patrick and the rest of the family nearby - among friends, among love, and people who understand. Aliens are common in StrangerVille, and Kirk will never have to hide away like his mother did.

Malakai marries Joy and Jonas marries Josie. After all they've been through, they're the only ones who understand each other. They live in Sulani with Kiera and Theo in the old Henford-Layne beach house.
On the walls, the photographic evidence of their existence mingling with so many ephemeral lives.

[Del Sol Valley] Arthur Ikeda explains about Eloise's mystery illness to his adopted son, Saul, who is now a prodigious scientist. Arthur had received a call from his longtime friend, Lamont Henford-Goth, whose grandchildren are Eloise's closest friends.
Aside from not knowing what is wrong with the young woman, the added complication is that Eloise is secretly an alien! After asking a few questions, they deduce that Eloise will need to return to her home planet for treatment.

Saul explains the predicament to Patrick Layne in StrangerVille, who hands him some calculations on how to build a wormhole generator.
Saul: "We're going to need some unusual supplies."
Patrick: "I know someone who might be able to help."
Saul: "It's no use trying to set it up here - they've built this place up so much that there's too much atmospheric interference. We need somewhere completely off the grid."
Jonas: "My cousin Katelyn lives off the grid on Mua Pel'Am!"

The arch-sages transport the group to the family estate at Lani St Taz, a short distance from Katelyn's house.
Saul explains the situation to Katelyn and her husband, Kyle, and they are keen to help in any way that they can.
The youngsters have a tense wait at the old shipwreck while they wait for the following morning. Eloise puts a brave face on, but they can tell her health is declining.
Katelyn, her husband and Eloise's friends work frantically to clear the area, and the super-sages transportalate the whole lab to the island while its oblivious occupants continue to go about their work inside.
Saul Ikeda arrives at the secret lab and starts work on the wormhole generator. He has to work quickly and in secret - if anyone finds out what he's doing, there's no telling what they'll do to him!
The arch-sages use their powers to keep the coast clear. Within a few hours, he has it up and running, and lets Eloise in through the back door.
Eloise tentatively steps through the portal, removes her disguise, and greets the fellow aliens on the other side. She has never seen Sixam before, but - finally - she is home.

[Granite Falls] It's summer camp, and the teens are warned to watch out for bears. Eloise reveals to the group that she is alien, and nobody seems to mind - least of all Riley, who has fallen in love with her.
But, shortly after her eighteenth birthday, Eloise starts to fall ill. The change happens slowly at first - she starts sleeping longer and longer hours, but sometimes it is impossible to wake her at all.

The youngsters keep in touch and spend their first summer camping as young adults. One morning, Riley can't wake Eloise, and it's worse than it's ever been: she feels cold to the touch, and no medicine or conventional treatments seem to work. It's as though she is slipping away.
Luckily, Jonas and Joy have been feeling their powers grow, and they are able to transport Eloise and the whole group to the Magical Realm.
Riley is inconsolable. He starts rummaging through the magical tomes trying to find any kind of answers.
Jonas is guided by the sages to the secret chamber beneath the public halls, where the Ancient Ones - the unimaginably powerful arch-sages who walk between this world and the next - occasionally hold audience. Jonas's own father, Drew, is one of the Ancient Ones, and Jonas calls him now.
Drew: "Don't you understand? You have the power now. All of our powers flowed into you and now we are fading away. This is the last time I will see you."
Drew gives each of his children one last loving hug, and looks fondly at his other, very distant, descendants around the room.
"She will be OK," Drew assures them. "You will know what to do."
Jonas takes one last look at his father. "When we have helped her ... Will we ever have a normal life?"
Drew laughs a rustling, insubstantial laugh like the whisper of leaves in the wind. When he speaks again, his voice sounds as though it is drifting in from some far off place.
"No. It will never be normal. But I had seven children and a very happy, very long existence here. I am sure you will surpass me on that one."
Drew is gone before they can think of anything further to say.
Joy and Jonas sit on the thrones, unsure of what to expect - then, suddenly, Elisa Goth appears next to them, filling the third seat. The houses of Ember, Henford and Goth are represented, and the power emanating from the arch-sages is palpable.
Jonas: "I know every spell of this realm, but nothing here is going to save her, because she is not of this world. We walk between life and death, but not other planets."
Elisa: "It's not about knowing the magic. It's knowing who would know."
Joy: "You're right! Miley, call your grandpa, Lamont!"
Jonas: "We can then use our powers to make sure people are awake to hear their phones, then get you where you need to go."

She is warm and loving, forming close ties with her extended family. She can't wait until she's a teenager and can disguise herself as a human!

[Windenburg] Josie and Malakai Henford-Goth live on the Crumbling Isle. Their family has lived there for many generations. Currently, they live on the Von Strand Estate with their parents, Dean and Morgana, and grandparents, Dan and Isabelle. Their extended family owns the whole island, with cousins and other relatives for miles around.
Their childhoods are uneventful and happy, unlike the eight generations before them.
Miley: "How's Dad?"
Joy: "He's fine. Mostly just sits outside in the art studio, painting. How's your mom?"
Miley: "She's fine. Hiroshi is OK, though he's trying not to try to replace Dad. He's pretty cool. Hiroshi wants to marry Mom, but she's waiting until we leave home."
Joy: "I guess she's trying to protect your feelings."
Miley: "She should marry him. He makes her happy, or that's what Grandpa said. Grandad told me that Grandpa used to be a secret agent, but Riley thinks he's lying."
The kids' parents have an informal reunion at the bar. Their lives are very ordinary, which - after the tumultuous events of the past few years - is welcome.

When Ronan returns, hours after his alien abduction, he is dazed from being prodded and poked and otherwise unspeakably interfered with on an alien spacecraft. He is ravenously hungry for some reason.
On returning to San Myshuno, he confides in his brother-in-law, Mark - he can not stop eating! And he has had this strange feeling in his stomach all month!
There is something in Ronan's tummy, and it's getting bigger.

[Sulani] Theo rushes to embrace his sister as he arrives on Sulani's warm shores. These past few weeks have been painful, ever since Rose announced that she was having an affair and wanted a divorce. He should have seen it coming - he was difficult to live with and she was often unhappy - but Kiera had always been endlessly patient with him and his often strange, erratic behaviour which no specialist had been able to solve.
Kiera's husband, Drew, also greets him warmly. "Stay here for as long as you like. Indefinitely. Consider this your home now, for as long as you want to be here."
Theo is grateful. Everything just hurts so much that he wants a bed to call his own to curl up and cry in.

Drew: "I had hoped to stick around until you were all grown up, but it was never going to be forever."
He kisses one last goodbye, and is gone.

Drew Henford-Layne and his fiancee, Kiera, travel to Peles Castle for their wedding, along with their two children. They have been together many years, but even a decade is fleeting for the undead Drew.
They are accompanied by Drew's great-grandson, Lewis, and his wife, with whom they share the luxurious Sulani beach house Drew built nearly a century before.
The couple exchange vows in the beautiful castle hall, but neither of them knows how long Drew will stay before returning to the Netherworld.
Their children, Joy and Jonas, were conceived during a ritual to restore Kiera's friend to life when they were barely adults: the half-vampire had burned to death and Drew had not only revived him but helped cure his vampirism.
These kids had been an unexpected bonus, but Kiera had always wondered what would happen when the seemingly-normal children came into their powers. Only time would tell.

Avril leaves for work looking pretty horrified, and then Kurt has to depart for his own job as a professional violinist. He's worried that Avril will freak out over this, and the timing couldn't have been worse: he was planning to propose tomorrow night!

[Henford-on-Bagley] Charlotte and Jeremy share the latest family gossip, about how the barely-eighteen-but-heavily-pregnant Marianne Goth hastily married Kyle Henford of Newcrest.
Jeremy: "I heard they really like each other, though. They might actually go the distance."
Charlotte: "Uh-huh. Well, let's hope so."
Charlotte also married young, to her first husband, Isaiah. A lottery win spawned a midlife crisis that left them both divorced in their late thirties.
Still, it had its upsides: now she was living in her second husband's ancestral home, Henford Hall, and her son Jeremy Jr (nicknamed "JJ") was staying here with his girlfriend, Phoebe, for the summer holidays. It was nice to have them home again, though they still had three more years of university ahead of them.

While they're on vacation, JJ and Phoebe visit JJ's half-brother, Theo, in Windenburg.
Theo was always troubled and erratic, and married Rose Henford-Goth after a mysterious phone call telling him that he had to marry within one week to claim an inheritance! For all anyone knows, he simply imagined the call, but 19-year-old Rose was so enamoured with the pouting poet that she married him anyway. The ensuing decade has been hard, but they have three beautiful children and the huge estate on The Crumbling Isle is filled with laughter most days.
Still, on those harder days, Rose's coworker Hiroshi helps her take the edge off things.

[Newcrest] The rules are different for rich people than for the rest of us. Normally, when a teenager falls pregnant, there is worry and panic, but for the pampered Henford and Goth families, it's a much more relaxed affair. They have people to sweat the small stuff, and most of the big stuff, too.
Since Marianne Goth's late grandfather's mansion in Del Sol Valley is getting a little crowded, it was an easy decision to move into her boyfriend Kyle's house in Newcrest instead, which the Henfords have owned for generations. Kyle and Marianne have just turned eighteen, so she can call this a "gap year" before starting university, just like Valentina Henford did decades before.
The odd thing is the effect that pregnancy has had on the normally spiky Marianne: she has softened somehow. She isn't thinking only of herself, her aggression has vanished, and she is generally less nasty than she was before. Kyle, of course, has the ethics one would normally associate with a budding investment banker, but he is hopelessly in love with the soon-to-be mother of his child.
Not just for tradition's sake, Kyle proposes.

The ceremony in Tartosa is hastily arranged. Marianne's father, Amir, even shows up wearing jeans and the bride barely flinches - she is just grateful he came at all.
The couple say their vows, kiss, and barely have time to take in the surroundings before they have to rush home to prepare for the birth of their child.
Marianne adds her wedding portrait to the many that adorn the house. This child of hers will be born into a loving home, with all the trappings of immense wealth and privilege. Marianne spent eighteen years as a hideous spoiled brat, but at last she counts her blessings, and is grateful.

[Tartosa] Since Sara's previous wedding day went so disastrously wrong (with the groom dying on her wedding night!), she chooses to keep it simple for her wedding to Faiz. They have an informal wedding on the beach, followed by dinner and dancing at Celebrazioni d'Amore.
Faiz would consider their lives perfect if he didn't think there was something very unusual about the couple next door ... but he can't quite put his finger on it.

[Granite Falls] It's the end of summer camp, and the teens are off to the beach. Kim dumps JJ on the first day, telling him that he's sweet and all, but they don't really have anything in common and he seems far too interested in Phoebe. JJ is annoyed and feels rejected, but he knows she's right.
Kim helps JJ do a kegstand to cheer him up a bit, though what REALLY cheers JJ up is finally kissing Phoebe, who is a little surprised. Kim is not surprised at all.
Skye gets a surprise of her own when Calvin declares his feelings for her. Sure, they flirted, and even kissed, but she thought he was going out with Kaley. Calvin explains that they were never really serious, and that they've decided to just be friends. His real feelings are for Skye.
Skye hates to admit it, but she's pretty taken with Calvin herself.
Love Day is, in all, a mixed affair: two breakups (JJ + Kim; Kaley + Calvin); two new relationships (JJ + Phoebe; Skye + Calvin); a couple of maybes (Kim + Kieran; Aiden + Kaley); and two thoroughly miserable nopes (Carla and Tim - still no closer to finding love).

[Willow Creek] It's time for the eighteen-year-olds to head off to university. Lucas Henford-Goth - Calvin's best friend (and the son of pink-haired rock star Laurel and Catherine's ex-husband Alexander) - moves into a small house in the suburbs, which should be quieter and more comfortable than a frat house. Lucas advertises for a roommate and is surprised when one of the Queen Bee clique, Peyton Henford-Astin, moves in. He's never really spoken to her much, but she hung out with the awful Marianne Goth in high school, and he figured she was as nasty and stuck up as the rest of them, but if she ever was, she seems to have grown out of it now.
He's even more surprised when she produces and electric guitar and starts playing it! Turns out she's on the same course as he is, and shares his interest in heavy rock. He asks her if she wants to see JJ Henford's band perform tomorrow night, and she readily agrees.
Lucas consoles Peyton affectionately when her grandfather dies, and it doesn't take long for one thing to lead to another.
Phoebe calls Peyton on the phone: "Funny - I thought I was dating a bad boy to annoy my father, but JJ is a straight-A student training to be a marine biologist!"
Peyton agrees: "Lucas acts like this brooding rebel type, but if his rock band doesn't take off, he'll be a lawyer!"

Disco king Tim eventually finds love with average lad Ronan, Jack and Bridget pair up, and Carla and Corin FINALLY get together.

The following day, it is time for an adventure!
First, a quick supper of toasted marshmallows, then (after a couple of failed attempts) Calvin manages to charm Skye.
Meanwhile, JJ and the others are exploring the woods. JJ hacks through a spider's web, but luckily, its weaver isn't home. As he journeys through, he finds a sacred cove in the middle of the forest.
JJ respectfully approaches the hermit who lives in the little cottage in the deepest part of the forest. Marianne barges into the elder's bedroom and rudely introduces herself, earning the old lady's ire. It is perhaps better to leave right now - before she turns her into a frog or something.

Tensions are running high in the run-up to Love Day. Poor lonely Tim has never dated anyone; Kim is firmly dating JJ, but his attention is wandering to Phoebe; Skye made out with Calvin who is going out with Kaley (who just slept with Aiden); brash goth Carla fancies sensitive indie kid Corin; and evil spellcaster Marianne is getting closer to "weird little goblin" Kyle.
Aiden kisses Phoebe. Oh dear, this complicates things further.

Aiden: "OMG! What did you do to Kyle?!"
Marianne: "First of all, shut the hell up. Second of all, it's just a magical makeover. I can't have an ugly boyfriend, can I?"
Kyle's eyes widen - not for the insult, but because she referred to him as her boyfriend. Kyle is overjoyed!
Now that she's less embarrassed by him, Phoebe and Kyle fall firmly in love.
Which is fortunate, really, since she's pregnant with his baby!

Calvin returns to the cabin in one hell of a mood. He catches the barely dressed Kaley on the porch and marches straight over to Aiden ...
and starts complaining about how annoying Kyle is!
"Yeah, I can't do this. I slept with your girl. Sorry!"
"Oh. Did you like it?"
"Uh. Yeah."
"'K. I'm going for a run."
Well, that was easy! Calvin is still in a lousy mood, but it's no worse than it was before.

Jeremy "JJ" Henford, Jr. is trying to process the events of the past 24 hours. He is finding himself attracted to 'Queen Bee' Phoebe, but has just started dating sweet indie kid Kim, who he also really likes. Phoebe hangs around with the vicious Marianne Goth, but seems inexplicably friendly towards JJ and his friends.
Marianne comes over. Oh, this should be interesting.
"And then there's this loser. Total failure, like his father's condom."
The Queen Bees giggle, but JJ just stares at her: he was indeed the product of an unplanned pregnancy, since both his parents were married to other people at the time.
For a second Marianne falters - she knows she's gone too far - but she catches Kyle's admiring gaze and rallies herself. Kyle is nobody's idea of handsome, but he's as nasty as she is, and she finds that appealing.
Before she even knows what she's doing, she finds herself kissing Kyle. He accepts her and gives her reassurance, and that's what she's craving right now.

Valeria: "OMG! Did you just make out with Kyle in Kaley's tent?"
Marianne: "Talk to me again and I will punch you in the face!"

JJ hangs out with Phoebe by the lake. Unlike her friends, she is sweet and charming. He gives her a friendly hug, which he wishes would last just a -little- longer. Arrgh! Why is he feeling like this?

At summer camp, the camp counsellors urge the teens to keep an eye out for bears.
Phoebe wanders over to the alternative kids. Is she lost? Has Kyle or Marianne sent her over to cause some mischief? No, she's just sad over the death of her grandmother, and looking for sympathy from people with a shred of kindness. JJ puts a comforting arm around her. This is all so confusing!
That evening, JJ gets talking to indie girl Kim, who is not quite culturally in his comfort zone, but much less worrying than Phoebe. On a whim, he tries handing her a rose, but panics for a moment when he isn't sure how she's going to react.
Things are going outstandingly well! And, best of all, none of their friends are going to give them grief over this. The teens are just grateful that, this time, nobody has peed in the bush ...

The following day, Aiden and Kaley get to know each other better while Calvin is off doing camp activities. (Like I said, she's reeeal friendly.)
But when Calvin gets back, he's having a mood swing, and his girlfriend is with someone else.

Tim: "Remember little JJ Henford? Sure you do? Well, this is him now. He's the de facto leader of the metalheads around here. His dad's the rock star, Jeremy Henford, and he grew up on some farm in Henford-on-Bagley and is desperate to get out and have some fun! His cousins, Jack and Valeria are OK, but Carla can get all preachy with the vegan thing - she's very high maintenance."
Tim: "Aiden and his gang are all about sourdough lattes or whatever, you know, write poetry while sobbing to Sufjan Stevens. Corin and Kim grew up at Mt Komorebi, and Kieran (from Newcrest) is actually pretty cool, which is odd because his brother, Kyle, is like this weird little goblin thing."
Tim: "Not much to say about the Basics. They're pretty nice for the most part."
Tim: "Then you have the heavy rock fans who aren't the metal fans. I mean, they hang out with the metalheads sometimes, but they're less likely to have a favourite bass solo. They're also reeeeal friendly, if you know what I'm saying."
Tim: "Then there's Marianne's Queen Bee crew. They will do anything, and I do mean anything, to get what they want. I would hard avoid the lot of them, especially Kyle who is just a weird little goblin thing."
Tim: "Finally, the best people that you will ever meet! I'm Tim, I grew up on The Crumbling Isle at Windenburg, which is pretty cool because my family owns the whole island! The house was built by my grandparents, Poppy and Gael, but now I live there with my parents, my sister and her husband and kid, and there's zero cute guys in the neighbourhood to date, let alone anyone I'm not related to! I have to get out of there!
You will also love my BFF, Skye, who is the sweetest person you will ever meet. She grew up in the same Willow Creek mansion where Bella herself once lived - can you imagine? Skye is really fun to be around, and apparently she has some magic in her, but none of us have seen it yet."

It's Spring Break and the Henford-Goth teens are at Oasis Springs. Calvin and Kaley have been getting physical in the hot tub, and most of the fraternizing has been along clique lines, but then Carla Goth embarrasses herself by flirting with indie boy Corin (who is more confused than anything), and JJ is alarmed to find himself attracted to one of the Queen Bees, Phoebe, which he attributes to overexposure the sun, because surely he should be looking at Carla or Valeria or even Kaley instead. Phoebe can't be a very good person, given the company she keeps. She insists that Marianne's cruelty is because she's mourning her grandfather, Isaiah, but his death was ages ago!
JJ hurries over to one of his metalhead friends. That's better. Still, much as he likes her, he finds his attention drifting. This is all so confusing!

[Willow Creek] Sara sits thoughtfully at her secret spot in the Sylvan Glade. She has worked so hard for this life, but it's not enough. Her acting career has taken off, but she misses Faiz so much.
She waters the tree which once saved her life, and thanks it, takes one look around the house she worked so hard with Faiz to decorate and make a home, then flies out to Tartosa, where she rushes into Faiz's arms.
Sara proposes! Faiz accepts! He now has everything he ever dreamed of having.
Sara texts her agent. The studio will be doing some filming out in Tartosa soon, and he thinks that he can get her a part.

When Sara gets home, Faiz asks for a serious conversation. He has been offered a flower shop back home. Faiz has truly enjoyed living with Sara, but he needs to be close to his friends and family in the warm sunshine. He doesn't belong in Willow Creek.
Sara has no intention of leaving. Her acting career is taking off at last, so she reluctantly urges Faiz to return to Tartosa alone. Faiz is thrilled to have his own store at last!
But everything reminds him of the love he left behind ...

[Oasis Springs] It was getting too crowded at the Goth mansion in Del Sol Valley, so Kat and Owen Goth are getting on the van life craze in Oasis Springs.
They live in a stylish caravan with their toddler, Aiden, next door to hippyish Santiago and his eight-year-old daughter, Bianca, who live in the most amazing camper van! It's a lovely, peaceful existence here. The families enjoy swimming in the natural-water pool and enjoying backyard barbecues.
They sleep soundly at night in the quiet of the desert: they're going to be very happy here.

Kennedy is shocked to run into her father! Still, they get on well and she can't wait to introduce him to her new boyfriend, Ivan.
Kennedy and her friends dance the night away for the last time - soon it will be time for them to move on to the next chapter of their lives.

[Windenburg] It's Winterfest, and the Henford-Goth family are sitting down to a festive meal.
Avril starts to flirt with Father Winter, but quickly thinks better of it - she doesn't want to hurt Kurt's feelings. (She makes it up to Kurt later in her own special way!)
Garret Harkins has no such reservations - he asks to "check for hotness" and flirts with Father Winter - even kisses him, leaving Kennedy enraged with jealousy!
The following morning, Kennedy tells Garret it's over.

[Willow Creek] Sara arrives on set for her latest commercial. She realises that someone in the room isn't wearing a costume!
The producer, Prisha Raghavan, has come to the end of her long life. The cast and crew are devastated, but director Kengo Ogawa calmly calls his fixer.
"Yeah, I have a situation that needs cleaning up here. Hey, Mr Reaper, I don't mean to hurry you along, but can we move on? We're on a schedule here. Thank you, darling."
Still, the show must go on, and Sara gets to work. She feels weird about the heartlessness of completing the gig after all, but her cool-headed professionalism earns her a promotion.
