Dear Mom, my mom who was still only a girl
あなたは神様から届くメールを待ってる
anata wa kamisama kara todoku meeru wo matteru
you are waiting for some mail from God to arrive
「世界が終わればいい」まして自分が消えればいい
sekai ga owareba ii  mashite jibun ga kiereba ii
“The world should end,” it says, not to mention that I should disappear
あなたの神様は だけど 着信気づかない

your lover is not God, and not a prince, either
世界は終わってるの 人類の歴史ひもとけば
sekai wa owatteru no jinrui no rekishi himotokeba

yume ni narenai sonna anata ni naritai no
I can’t become a dream, I want to become something like you
かないで 鏡の向こうで 闇の向こうで

you are me, but someday I’d like to become myself
なれないの なりたいの
narenai no naritai no
I can’t, I want to,
なれないの
narenai no
I can’t
Notes:
*I've seen this be translated as "I Want to Be Born" a lot but I'm not sure that's right because you could just say 生まれたい. みる after a -te verb usually means "to try to" if I'm correct so this is what I'm going with even if it doesn't sound super natural in English.
**I wasn't sure if "me" is the correct object here but for this situation that's my best guess.
***This line was really hard. I think this is right, but I'm not sure so like it says in my bio take it with a grain of salt.
****This one was honestly just...what the fuck? If you don't know anything about Japanese grammar, the line is essentially trying to make "me" into the object of "to live". Which...is an intransitive verb? I cannot think of a situation in which "to live" takes an object. So this is my best guess. If anyone knows anything, please let me know so I can improve this!
