Hello! I'm Tropi, I'm an Artist-Illustrator and this is my personal blog and website!
I usually blog inspiring posts, personal artwork and the artwork of others as well as posts pertaining to my various interests.
Enjoy!
I was searching for some pretty Hanukkah gifs to schedule a post tomorrow wishing my Jewish followers Happy Hanukkah and I found a fit/shape/body building site that posted this
And I thought to myself, I simply must show my Jewish followers fit Menorah Man
Sleeping trains vibe
Have you heard the melody to which the tired train sleeps? Listen carefully 🎶
This is the result of collaboration with the wonderful musician Alex Gosh. An original soundtrack was specially created together to accompany these cozy scenes. This track will be available soon on all streaming platforms
Over 250 millions years ago, during the Permian period, the world was very different from today. While giant lycophyte scale trees and enormous horsetails, holdovers from the earlier Carboniferous period, decreased in dominance, seed-bearing trees began to take their place as the primary component of the forest canopy. Among these trees were the Glossopteridales, which dominated the cool temperate forests of southern Pangaea.
The most well-known among these plants (and the eponymous member of the group) is Glossopteris. Glossopteris, meaning “tongue leaf,” is a form genus, and as such, technically only refers to the leaf of the plant. These leaves are characteristically elongated, widened towards the tip, and commonly described as “tongue-shaped.”
Today, fossils of Glossopteris have a rather disparate distribution, found in parts of what are now widely separated continents. However, during the Permian, these would have formed one contiguous range. The distribution of Glossopteris fossils is among the pieces of evidence that have been used to better understand the movement of continents over geologic time.
Glossopteris, along with the related Gangamopteris, are among the many prehistoric plants represented in the Prehistoric Nature mod, where they make up the Glossopteris Forest biomes. I have recently completed retexturing these plants for my Vanilladendron resource pack, which seeks to better integrate the look of Prehistoric Nature with vanilla Minecraft. Archeology is not only the hand maid of history, it is also the conservator of art
With this Pteranodon skeleton in my hands, I immediately imagined this scene. The very design allows it to be displayed flat and thus makes it possible to represent an archaeological excavation easily
Symbolism: “The fire symbol is the crest of the current Overseer. With the twin suns represented on the left and lone moon it its right. The 4 dots flanking being the 4 other planets in the sky.”
Boston redesign is a flag by evanb.
Symbolism: “It represents Boston's nickname "The Hub of the Universe" with seven directions you can go on land and the sea to the east. Each represents a specific railway and highway, which is why north and south are doubled.
- Circle = Route 128
- Southeast = Old Colony Line & Route 3
- South-southeast = South Coast Line & Route 24
- South-southwest = Providence Line & Route 95 (I kind of cheated here: technically the Providence Line and Route 95 go southwest too, but I moved them for symmetry)
- Southwest = Franklin Line & Route 1
- West = Worcester Line & Route 90
- Northwest = Fitchburg Line & Route 2
- North-northwest = Lowell Line & Route 3
- North-northeast = Haverhill Line & Route 93
- Northeast = Rockburyport Line & Route 95”
