Becky and The Wrath of Becky, are popcorn films for Anti-Fascists. The villains are uncomplicated White Supremacists, who through their simple evil minds, end up in the crosshairs of Becky. There's catharsis seeing Becky take out these Nazis via traps and trickery, like a blood-drenched Home Alone. These films are wish fulfillment for the Punch Nazis crowd, and they're a lot of fun because of that.

part of what made across the spiderverse so perfect was that it was largely centered on WHO spider-man is, in EVERY universe. not just Miles, or Peter, or Gwen, or Miguel. Spider-Man. it was about the ESSENCE of Spider-man. Spider-Man is love for humanity. Spider-Man is having to sacrifice and lose everything you love for the mask. Spider-Man is rebellion against the powers that be. Spider-Man is about trying to do both, in every universe. about not taking no for an answer or listening when everyone tells you your destiny. refusing to choose between the things and people you love. that’s why Spider-Man is so compelling: they want everything, even though everyone else tells them they can’t have it. that it’s not meant to be. and they just. keep. trying. keep getting back up. they just keep going, man.

ryan murphy’s horror is like “everyone’s evil but they have their reasons for it” and mike flanagan’s horror is like “no one’s inherently evil. we’re all just trying to do our best everyday and a lot of times there’s no one to applaud us for it but we have to keep going just because”

You are a rude crass punk creature of the night who wears steel toes and leather and smokes and drinks and screams bad influence but whoops guess you’re a girl dad now :/ And here’s this literal tween who writes in her dairy and wears pink jackets and bendy clips in her hair and she’s so cute but actually a little spooky and she likes to hang out with the self-proclaimed evil crypt-dwelling vampire and she likes to hear his gruesome little stories. Here is this early series former villain literal monster who takes exactly one look at this annoying sassy bubblegum little girl and says “okay, guess I have to kill anybody who even tries to lay a finger on her now”

season 4 is such a comedy. neutered spike. something blue. beer bad. xander and anya developing relationship. the scoobies realising giles has a life. riley struggling to flirt. everyone forgetting spike is actually evil (including spike). that episode where buffy and riley fuck ghosts into existence. spike's suicidal urges being curbed by an impending apocalypse. xander having a new job every episode. people just walking into giles' fucking house. angel and riley beating each other up. jonathan superstar episode. so much is happening that I don't even care about Big Bad Adam
