I wanted to practice character design and lore(?) writing by doing these anti versions of Shadow and Sticks.

For Shadow, he would more Black Arm than Hedgehog, a Project that went wrong. Shadow is way too dangerous, so the goverment (G.U.N) has he hidden.

(Also, HE killed his Maria)

For Sticks, she was rescued by G.U.N. from the island she was when she was a child and now is a G.U.N. agent. She is kinda more ladylike in comparison of the actual Sticks, this last thing mostly because I've seen people draw her anti version like this.

Still pacticing on characters design and writing lore stuff.

Shadow had a transatlantic accent?

Oh, yes! When David Humphrey originally did VA work for Shadow, he gave him a very slight accent. It sounds slightly British, but also distinct enough to still sound American. The transatlantic/mid-Atlantic accent is an upper-class accent spoken in the early 20th century (roughly 1900s to 1940s). It wasn’t just a sign of elite status in American either. The transatlantic accent was also seen extensively in classical black and white films to help provide a clearer sound in what actors were saying to film enjoyers.

(Puts on anthropology cap) The vowels are stretched and some letters for specific words are dropped at the end. For example:

Americans may pronounce “water” as /wuh-odder/. They may turn the pronunciation of “t’s” as “d’s” when they speak, specifically those who region along the East coast.

The English/British way pronounce “water” as /whoo-ottah/ or even /wha-tah/. There may be an emphasis on the “t” to halt the stretched vowel sound, but again, this depends on the region where they’re located.

Individuals who speak with a transatlantic may pronounce “water” as /whuuaa-tah/. This provides an emphasis on both vowels and consonant. Words like “dance” may be pronounced as /dahnss/.

We can hear some of the transatlantic traits in Shadow’s voice, especially in SA2. A video here is provided for listening pleasure if you wish to follow along: “Shadow Voice Clips (David Humphrey) Sonic Adventure 2:”

Some words like “power” are pronounced as /pouh-wah/.

“Maria” is also pronounced as /Merh-ree-ha/ and /Mah-ree-hah/.

“Ark” is “/Ahhrk/.

“Research” is pronounced as /rheh-sea-er-ch/.

These are all linguistic characteristics of the transatlantic/mid-Atlantic accent. If this is being interpreted as me wishing for Shadow to have an accent in the third film, then yes! This is what I hope for. I truly hope that Shadow has a slight accent. It’s been done before, I hope that it’s done again.

Sonic oc: Gloom the Hedgehog (Shadow´s mother)

Well, the hedgehog gene had to come from somewhere, right?

She is the egg donor for Project Shadow, the only mobian in Ark.

Just because, she is Spanish, so Shadow would be of Spanish descent, but since he was raised by humans, he only knows english XDD. (I headcanon that Dr Gerald and Maria are from England. Gloom fucking dies a days later Shadow borns.)
