Mia was a little worried how Brian would react when she told him the news. Would he be okay with it? Or freak out and leave? Or neither? It was causing her to stress out because of the unknown. His tentative steps towards her made her more and more nervous. She just wanted him to say something.. anything. She nodded and looked down from his glance. “I took a test and it came out positive. But you know, these things aren’t always right. I just.. I wanted you to know. I don’t want to keep a secret like this from you.” When she looked back up at him, she could tell that he was panicking on the inside even if he was looking calm on the outside.

Brian looked up a little alarmed by her statement. It wasn’t so much a shock as it was just coming out of her mouth. It was one thing to ‘think’ as it was stating ‘am’. He let out a sharp breath as he took another step towards her. He needed to repeat those words in his head again. ‘I think I might be pregnant.’ Did he hear her correctly? Inside there was a part of him jumping with joy, but on the exterior he was breaking out in a bit of a sweat. A little of a panic attack if you looked into his eyes. “Are you sure?”

Both Brian and Mia were on the run but they were able to find shelter with Vince and Roza in Rio for a short time. The more time they spent around Nico, the idea of having their own was something Mia really did want. They had talked about kids a few times here and there but it never went anywhere past just talking. She just wished they could have better timing considering their situation. They were laying in bed together, her head laying on Brian’s chest. She looked up at him when she didn’t hear an answer right away with a concerned look that maybe she took the conversation too far. “No, no. But don’t you ever think about it?” She questioned.

What was it with Mia catching Brian off guard with such hints and statements? It wasn’t so much he didn’t think about it, it was just…yes, she caught him off guard by saying such things. He drew in a long deep breath and looked at her. “Are you implying something here?” His mind wondered over the thought again – this wasn’t the first time she brought it up – of the little patter of children’s feet through the house. It was bound to happen eventually, right? He was more than willing to take that next step with her. After all, he loved this woman with his whole heart but isn’t it a little too soon to think about that when they were still trying to rekindle the relationship they lost.

Mia frowned and sat beside him on the couch. She was worried about him lately because he hadn’t been sleeping all that much as it was. Mia reached out and gently ran her hand down his arm, squeezing his hand. “I don’t know who you’re trying to fool but it can’t be me.” She pressed a kiss to his temple as she whispered. “C’mon baby..” She tugged on his hand to wake him up to get him to go upstairs with her.

Brian and Mia had been on the run now for quite some time after successfully getting her brother out of jail. They were fugitives and had to stay one step ahead of the police from finding them. They were walking through a small and quiet village when Mia started to feel dizzy. “Bri--” She got out before her legs gave out on her and the ground came closer. She woke a few minutes later to a very concerned Brian. Another minute and she remembered their situation. They needed to keep moving. “I’m okay.. we need to keep going..” Even as she tried to remind him, she also did as he requested, breathing in and out slowly. At the mention of a doctor, she shook her head. “No, no. I’m fine. Just the heat and lack of hydration. I’m sure that’s all it is.” Mia made up some excuse on the spot, not being able to tell him that she was actually pregnant and the stress of being on the run wasn’t exactly good for the mother to be.

Brian barely caught her in time before she began to collapse towards the ground beside him. She about nearly felt like deadweight in his arms as they slowly came to the ground. He didn’t know what happened or what could have caused her to suddenly appear so faint. But there was a look of growing concern on his face. “Whoa! Relax, baby. Take a few deep breaths.” He pushed a few strands of hair out of her face and wiped off the small bead of sweat that formed on her brows. “What happened? Are you okay? Do we need to get you to a doctor or something?” He frowned slightly.

Hearing that Brian was leaving and going to help Dom and their family, she didn’t like it. The more he spoke of what was going on, a bunch of red flags spiked up for her. She had always been more than understanding with him going to help their family. But if he left and didn’t come back, Mia couldn’t bare it. Everything felt new again with their daughter being born only a few short weeks ago. They left this life that Brian was trying to go back into it. And what he was getting into, it sounded like a suicide mission.
Mia stood up from the chair and carried their daughter over to her bassinet so she could focus on the conversation at hand. “Then I’m going with you, Brian.” She spoke before turning to look at him. She knew he wouldn’t let her go but she would refuse to let him go unless she went as well. She walked over to him, taking his hands in hers. “No.. don’t. Don’t say that. This is different.” She shook her head, looking up at him trying to hold back tears. Damn her hormones right now.

Brian pressed his lips together and looked away for a moment. The sleeping form of their newborn daughter laid in Mia’s arms. “Don’t say it like, Mia. C’mon. We’ve been over this before.” He knew it was. Without any doubts or reasons, it always was. She had to understand that (but she always did). Not that Brian had ever intended to go back to the jobs when he made a promise to her and his family, they were done. They were supposed to settle into the quiet domestic life. They were supposed to put all the thrills and bullets behind them.
But they both also knew Dom and everyone else was still family too. They’d always have their backs, no matter the time or the distance. And the team needed him out there to help out on those missions too. How it came to this – the undercover secret super spy shit as Roman liked to call it – was beyond Brian’s understanding most days. None of them ever expected they’d get to this. (And yes, it paid really well, too.) “When have I ever let you down before?” He spoke quietly.

It felt nice to be back in their hometown of Los Angeles. Around the familiar faces and places. It brought a sense of ease to Mia that she rarely felt anywhere else in the world. Even if their childhood home was still being rebuilt, it was still nice to be around family again. Especially with their family growing by one in a short amount of time.
Mia handed Jack the house key to him to open as she held onto the grocery bags. He managed to unlock the door and ran into the house, in search for Brian. Mia smiled softly as she watched Jack and heard Brian’s voice. She waddled through the front door with the bags, kicking the door closed behind her.
Mia gave him a playful glare. “It was until Jack started adding more and more to the cart. By the time we got to checkout, I didn’t have the heart to say no or the willpower to put it back. All thanks to this little one.” She directed to her growing belly as Brian took the bags and she helped Jack take off his shoes and guided him into the kitchen with Brian. “What have you been up to all day, hm?” She asked as she started to unload the bags.

“We’re having another baby. It’s a little girl.” Mia spoke gently into the phone.
Brian exhaled sharply as he let the news sink in slowly through his veins. Another baby. A little baby girl. Damn, Mia. Are you serious right now? But she wouldn’t lie about anything like that. He knew that. But Brian didn’t say it out loud. Actually he didn’t have a whole lot to say because the shock was still taking over. Nerves had all but surfaced.
“She’s gonna need her father. So you have to finish what you’re doing and you have to come home to her. You need to come home to us.” Mia’s voice was quiet. But still calm and gentle, the way that Brian knew it best. It was always so comforting, especially with what was about to go down.

Several long weeks later.
No matter where they’d end up “vacationing” at, Los Angeles would always be home. Plain and simple. Including the long awaited complete remodel of the childhood home the Toretto siblings grew up in. Because despite the explosion, it was the epicenter of what brought them all together. Family. And being together in good company with great food. And just being home.
Brian was sitting in the office overlooking a few things on his laptop. With Shaw under lock and key, things could finally go back to normal. (Or as normal as things could get for the former buster and his family.) The sound of the front door opening and the small patter of little feet echoed down the hallway. “Daddy? Daddy, we’re home!” A small toddler voice called out.
Brian looked up as he slowly rose to his feet. He rounded the corner as the little boy nearly tripped over his father’s feet. “Whoa, slow down, little man…” Brian picked up his son and pressed a kiss to his cheek. “You’re gonna run me down with that speed.” He carried the boy back down the hall toward the front door.
“I thought it was supposed to be a quick trip to the grocery store.” Brian teased as he saw the woman come through the door, with two filled reusable grocery bags. “I offered to go myself but you’ve been having some interesting cravings with this pregnancy that I didn’t want to interfere with. How was it?” As he set their son down, taking the bags from her.
