- A Summer’s End - Hong Kong 1986

Throughout my life, especially the past few years, I realized that to understand myself better and to express my true feelings I could convey it through drawings. It’s difficult for me to express in words. The sorrow and pain has never left my heart. I’m sorry that sometimes it’s very hard for me to share what I meant to say. I didn’t mean to be absent, but I lost the words to say. This time, I have gathered my courage and I want to let you know from my heart that I tried my best to keep going. It was this recent year I realized that I always had depression and anxiety, and more within me that I couldn’t express to you. To be true myself, and my identities as part of LGBTQIA+, it has taken a lot of me. When I was growing up, I experienced traumatic incidents. Even though, all this time I’ve been opened about myself and shared the work that directly related to the topics directly. It’s still very difficult for me to include my whole self and be open to others.

I and many others have been through intentional or unintentional experiences that were exclusionary or negative attitudes towards us. Subtle or direct, it was painful and we feel excluded, rejected, and ignored by others. I felt hurt and withdrawn even though I never intended to.

This year I’ve met many wonderful people throughout the journey. Some of you even though we met for the first time, I learned a lot from your kindness and your encouragement. I’ve always appreciate everyone who is still here with me. Your words, and every little thing you shared, please know I’m grateful and I care sincerely. I’m very sorry that I couldn’t be there or be present or answer you directly. Thank you very much for your understanding.

The Sunset We Will Always Remember 

Michelle and Sam’s story is dear to our hearts. It has been a journey creating and sharing their story. We received so much support over the years. Hearing your experiences on how the story resonated with you has been truly heartwarming.
