Din couldn’t help but smile watching Ackmena and Grogu’s little interaction, one arm draped over the back of Grogu’s chair and the other leaned against the bar. The kid was too cute for his own good, the whole galaxy knew it, but he was the most aware and couldn’t help but let out soft laugh.

He looked up at the bartender when he was addressed, smiling under his helmet and hoping she could hear it in his voice. “Some soup does sound nice, actually… Thank you.”

It had been quite a while since he’d last had a little lunch break with his kid.

“Now…” Ackmena placed the bowl of soup in front of Grogu, “It’s still pretty hot, so you’ll have to be patient.” The little one looked a bit disappointed, his ears dropping. The older woman reached over, giving one of his ear a little tickle, just behind it, causing them to jump up again. Grogu smiled, making a surprised but pleasant noise, showing his little teeth, looking to the bartender. “Maybe I can find something special for dessert if you have good table manners. Does that sound good?”

Grogu made a noise that sounded in the affirmative to her and Ackmena smiled sweetly to the kid before turning her attention on… his father? Guardian? The Mandalorian and this kid were a strange sight for sure, but there was no mistaking the kid’s affection and trust of the Mando.

“I’m old enough to remember the ways of your culture, so I won’t insult you with stupid questions. I cater to all kinds here, so if you don’t feel silly wedging a straw under that helmet, I could get you some soup to drink or something a bit stronger.”
