STERLING'S HUGO DISGUISE POST

TW FOR ; Mentions of abuse, drug intake, trauma. After like genuinely months of me going ooooh I'll do a post about his disguises, I actually sat down and set it all up. Could you imagine me doing that? Basically insane. But this is just a quick rundown. So obviously. Hugo needs no introduction. It's Hugo. He's our lanky trigger word Industrial Kingdom boy. He practically bares NO introduction (especially if you've been on my account long enough). Here are just some genuine different designs of how I think he looks in the industrial kingdom. Before we get into the meat. These go in chronological appearance order. ( A lot of this information is coming from the DND campaign me and my friends @milkseal, @edenmaiden, do. So things will be out of order as to how the story was originally supposed to go- even some relationships r different + new characters.)

TURNER THE MERCHANT

Turner was made for the Fire Kingdom where Yong is first introduced. He was a background character who simply watched Yong as he tours Varian around the Kingdom- while being as mischievous as he can be by setting off a large enough firework to almost set the Kingdom on FIRE. Thanks Yong. Within the midst of the confusion and panic. A monkey stumbles across them both and nicks one of Varian's potions he keeps safe on his hip belt- ensuing in a chase between the three around the kingdom- until the monkey gets caught in Turner's path in an alley. Resulting in him stealing the potion from the monkey and sells it back to Varian for double the price value of what it was. (Like I mentioned, some plot points are altered. So they don't collect the fire totem while within the Kingdom.) Originally he was based off of the game Journey's design and style of characters. The mask was a quick design choice in which I had to create a character speedily for Hugo as it was our first session of the campaign. However- I scrapped it for makeup instead and highlights of ribbon in his hair instead. The claws upon his feet and hands are used for scaling walls and architecture- as from my version of the industrial kingdom, it contained a lot of leverage for him to traverse around easily.

ANASTASIA MILES

Anastasia is a soft-spoked french girl who performed from kingdom to kingdom with a male only acting troupe- alongside her (enemies to lovers) co-actor Andrei. (cred to @milkseal) After being practically nearly exiled from the Fire Kingdom, Varian and Yong take to the road for a few days alongside Ruddiger and Prometheus. Where they stumble across a rather large bear, violent, angered and rather hungry. Even with Varian's attempts of alchemy, they have to retreat. After the midst of panic, they stumble across a small mechanical mouse designed and doused in Industrial Kingdom markings and handiwork- in which, they soon stumble across Anastasia. A sweet voice and face- in which Yong immediately didn't trust. Varian on the other hand. Immediately placed on his best performance of being a gentleman to her, guiding her. Even saving her, unknowing this was the same person he had met merely a few days go. She follows alongside them before they reach the Air Kingdom to search for the air totem. Anastasia meets a man of the name of Amir, (creds to @edenmaiden) a man who became a temporary deep lover but they had to keep on track with the path- where the plan was to disguise Varian as a prince. 'Prince Varitos.' She was one of the most praised designs and characters within the campaign from what I could tell from the moment I introduced her to the group. Her story is by far the most developed as of far, even going as back to her younger days when Hugo was first developing his own sense of style for his disguises and costumes- she is held of four designs to show a progress between each of her times with both the current group and previous. Her first design is that of when she was with a theatre within the Industrial Kingdom- being the only 'female', she was assigned to almost every feminine role within performances. Alongside her companion Andrei, a man with mischief on the mind for girls and scamming. But they always seemed to be having less then nice conversations; never truly upset at one another- more so play arguing and fighting. Although it was clear there was something deeper for one side of the party. Most times, Andrei would have to almost shield her from the others due to Hugo having to portray a naïve persona when adorning her clothes. When assigned to a performance gone wrong. Anastasia had to flee from the theatre, her dress becoming caught on a stray scrap of the theatres many dangers, everyone being presumed dead due to the deathly black ashes of the buildings reminds. She had to search for a new design and concept for herself that would be safer and much more 'mature'. Opting to rid the long skirt and deciding to go for clothes and hair much more sensible. Things which caught Varian's attention rather quickly. Her third design was a dress of Coronian fashion, something that could slip her into seeming like a seamstress beside the Prince. Princess Nuru was the first to notice something was up about her, but due to her royal permissions and formality; no words were spoken of it. The necklace featured in every design was a gift given by Andrei himself. Something never received by hand- and she never got to thank him for it.

NATHAN HORNET

Nathan is a simple design of a Corona fashion and style, something for Hugo to slip in an out of Corona from a young teen without being caught as himself. Working a seasonal job at the library within Corona- he's presented as presumptuous and rather bossy. Claiming to bare more knowledge. This disguise is used SOLELY for Corona.

TOPAZ GRETCHEN

Topaz is the unkempt, messy, slurred spoke and 'blind' girl of the designs. Always smelling of some sort of herb or carrying around fake crystals. (In which this tends to irritate Nuru when Hugo adorns the disguise.) She wears clothes that are hardly appropriate for outerwear- such as a nightgown and torn tights that display down both sides of her legs and no shoes. But the glasses are blacked out, Hugo wanting to have a disguise who would have the ability to slip anywhere she wished on accident and then a flounder of profuse apologies. Madame Canardist was a prime figure in her life when Hugo spent a year away from home to adapt to the outside world before he was sent on the mission for the almanac. TW AHEAD; Trauma, dangerous encounters. Topaz is the earliest disguise Hugo ever created at 14, she's a messy, sloppy and quick grab of clothes from a closet design that Hugo never bothered to update or revamp in anyway. The dress being one that Ulla didn't use anymore and it fit her just barely. She and her friends within Donella's crew used to hang around bar's and and taverns within the Industrial Kingdom. Messing around and pickpocketing grown men who were too drunk to tell their arses from their hands- but of course, Hugo was young. So his skills of pickpocketing as Topaz were shabby and loose, in a flash of a moment, she was grabbed, dragged from the tavern and forced to empty all of her pockets in an alleyway. Of course, with no fear behind Hugo's name due to his mothers training, she did as told. Although, they proposed to her, that she could repay then a different way. And Hugo had never been more glad to never actually BE blind, managing to see their eyes and figuring out even at 14 what exactly they wanted from her- thankfully, it didn't happen as her friends had scuttled off to find Donella before things could escalate.

THE FOX OF HELIHELM

The Fox of Helihelm is the excuse for Hugo to be able to show off.~ In my portrayal of Hugo in the campaign, I always imagined him living within the circus before he was adopted by Donella into her crew due to his parents death. His character was always a fox, finding a fascination in them from a young age even when he was taught how to use the aerial ribbons and hoops. When the crew pass through into the Industrial Kingdom, Hugo takes them to the circus, in which he designs and costumes each of them in suiting designs of outfits- Varian a magician, Nuru a butterfly, and Yong a dragon.

BARNEY HOMESTEAD

Think Hickory from Trolls. He's a cowboy, thick accented and a wrangler of no horses or farm animals. But snakes. And he makes this very clear, alongside the factor that his title is a Doctor. Throughout the journey, he would've flirted with anyone he could lay his eyes on, anyone.

SISTER PRATCHET

Sister Pratchet is from the same Convent that Cassandra was going to be sent to in the original show. She's a well-mannered, sweet young girl who barely speaks a word.

With the Fire Kingdom not exactly favouring the team for their shenanigans when they were first within the kingdom, they would've had to find a new way into the kingdom- so the quick pull together of Sister Pratchet would've had to do. Her concept was to worm her way into the royalty under the excuse of being a religious woman who had been sent for a form of refuge inside of the kingdom- amongst her deepest apologies from her most sincere of heart. In an attempt to grow closer to the royal family, specifically a man called Zhao. (cred to @edenmaiden). Offering anything she could to persuade them to allow her friends access to the kingdom just so that they could be safe.

So, snookie bear reveal. Littlest Industrial Kingdom baby ever.

Technically she's 4 but I can't draw 4 years old so whateva fr. That's her as an 8 year old, when Hugo left the Industrial Kingdom 4 years after VAT7K. They cut her hair (which she wasn't happy about) so she wasn't as recognisable.

She's a MENACE to Varian, still calls him Dad though. And of course she has her own disguises like her dad. OF COURSE.
