♢ Pink Diamond being Off-Colored ♢
In the newest episodes of Steven Universe, “Jungle Moon”, Pink Diamond has been revealed, but something was off about her…
Pink Diamond’s Size/Height:
Lets begin with her height, usually a Diamond is seen as one of the tallest gems and tower over all gems, but Pink is almost the same height as Stevonnie. When Stevonnie (Pink in the dream) tried to get Dr.Maheshwaren’s (Yellow Diamond in the dream) attention, she is picked up & moved out of the way with ease given Yellow’s height. Also when Stevonnie goes up to the control room of the Diamond base, she sees where Pink punched the glass, Pink is literally the same height as Stevonnie (or around that height). This flaw makes her off-colored given what height she is SUPPOSED to be.
Pink Diamond’s Gem:
When Pink Diamond is shown, her gem is faced downward and her facet is not facing forward like other Diamonds.
The mural in Era 1 moon bases depict her like the rest of them, with a regular diamond shape, but Pink’s actual gem is “deep” cut, her gem is cut very deep compared to the other Diamond’s “ideal” cuts. This flaw makes her off-colored in means of her gem position and cut unlike any gem we’ve seen before.
Pink Diamond’s behavior:
Pink Diamond has been seen as a “bratty” gem, when she doesn’t get her way, she will throw a tantrum like a child. Pink appears to be bubbly & kind, but she in reality, she is very short tempered. Pink feels as if she belongs in the Diamond Authority but Yellow doesn’t treat her like a member even though they are both Diamonds and have the same roles. This flaw would make her very difficult to be around & make her not ready to be a productive member of the Diamond Authority. Yellow Diamond treats her like that because she acts very childish and not ready. This would make her vulnerable, thus leading her to her demise.
