Writing memes and positivity, / Don’t be shy about sending asks, though if I don’t respond quickly, just know it’s not personal. I’m just adhd and very forgetful
it's really weird having a first dog be blind and then getting a second who can see...like how was I supposed to be prepared for this.
this creature can perceive when I put the treats up on the high shelf. or when I hide stuff behind my back. I can't fool her!! she's always watching me and she shouldn't have this much knowledge!!!
I walk around at night and I shine my flash light directly into her eyes and I'll just be standing there staring at her weird blue orbs for like 5 seconds until I realize it's probably extremely annoying to her, because she has eyes!! I'll turn on the light in the room and she gruffs and grumbles like ?? oh right!! light wakes you up!! the fuck??
Something that people don't talk about enough is that when you're raised to be mature from a young age, your parents just become any other figure in your life and even if you have a seemingly peaceful relationship with them, there's absolutely no comfort you can find under their shade. You'll never get to be immature and childish and helpless with them because that dynamic was never set in the first place and all the validation you ever had from them was from parentification.
So even at your worst moments in life, you will be left alone with no place to seek refuge and you'll have to constantly find it in yourself to be strong enough to deal with everything alone.
people can be so weird about their double standards for fanfiction vs traditional fiction. once saw someone very seriously say that people who write fic for the terror are fucked up and need to stop because those were literally real people who died on the franklin expedition, but they were also completely fine with tv show the terror itself existing, despite the fact that it, too, is fiction about the literally real people who died on the franklin expedition. our blessed historical fiction vs their barbarous rpf.
So within two days of each other, Fox News writes an article comparing aromanticism and asexuality to pedophilia, and then Matt Walsh releases a video saying asexuality is a mental illness and asexuals are tricking teenagers into having depression.
Not sure what’s going on right now over in Conservative World, but it’s a hell of wild U-turn for them to suddenly switch from “Oh no! The left is sexualizing our children!” to “Oh no! The left is asexualizing our children!”
I feel like many people have a fundamental misconception of what unreliable narrator means. It's simply a narrative vehicle not a character flaw, a sign that the character is a bad person. There are also many different types of unreliable narrators in fiction. Being an unreliable narrator doesn't necessarily mean that the character is 'wrong', it definitely doesn't mean that they're wrong about everything even if some aspects in their story are inaccurate, and only some unreliable narrators actively and consciously lie. Stories that have unreliable narrators also tend to deal with perception and memory and they often don't even have one objective truth, just different versions. It reflects real life where we know human memory is highly unreliable and vague and people can interpret same events very differently
the problem with fanfiction is that theres too many coffeeshop aus and not enough aus where the characters are trapped in an alivehouse psychological horror situation or perhaps a labyrinth of sorts
