Person A is on a college trip when a monument they’re visiting collapses and they are trapped with a few survivors, Person B+, under the rubble, only to find a strange gate exposed by the destruction. When the first survivor dies, the gate opens.

Day of the Mushroom

Person A likes to grow rare mushrooms as their hobby, and one day accidentally gets visited by a god of decay, Person B, because one of the mushrooms they took cuttings of was from their divine mushrooms that don’t grow easily, and is very confused how Person A has managed to make it grow despite that.

This PDF (HARP Folkways for $15) -- an RPG guide that breaks down aspects of real world cultures to help you design your own cultures. Invaluable to me.

Azgaar’s Fantasy Map Generator (Free) -- a very in-depth and detailed mapmaker with all sorts of cool tidbits. Nothing has ever quite sparked my worldbuilding like designing a map that tells me the temperature, altitude, biomes, etc. of the countries/cities/worlds I’m designing. So much is customizable too, so don’t feel limited by what the map generates/suggests. All the details this map maker has really makes me reconsider clothing, holidays, architecture, etc. since so much about a society is shaped by it’s environment (works very well with the Folkways culture guide). [+ the creator has a Patreon]

MyNoise -- an ambience maker I am currently loving due to all the great high quality ambiences the creator makes and has up on their site.

Person A has always dreamed of flying and waking up feeling sad, unsure why. But then an angel, Person B, comes to visit them, claiming that Person A is their ex-spouse who got their wings ripped off and forced to reincarnate as a human for a crime they committed. Person B offers Person A a chance to return to the sky, but the price of ‘atonement’ might be more than Person A is willing to pay.

International Day for Street Children

Person A is a social worker who runs a shelter for street children and starts noticing some that went missing awhile back have finally returned. But the returned children (some now adults) have been acting strangely. Then Person B, a street child they were close to who went missing and then returned as an adult, admits what the children won’t say - that the government offered them necessities in exchange for being experiments. When the experiments are deemed failed, they get released with a small final payment for their service to their country. But now the released street children, Person B included, are developing abilities after their release. Which causes problems for the government who were trying to keep their super soldiers secret and now are trying to round up the released subjects. Person A and Person B work together to keep the children safe and free, but since Person A is the only one without powers, Person B is worried they’ll be targeted as the group’s weakness.

National Pet Day & National Ranch Water Day

Person A finds a strange fish when getting water from their local well, and decides to keep it as a pet. But the fish starts to grow rapidly and turns out to be a baby mermaid. While Person A is debating how they’ll care for and protect their accidental child, a new farmhand, Person B, is hired who has a mysterious background and keeps asking questions that are getting dangerously close to the mermaid child. When Person B finds the child, Person A is worried it will be sold off as a scientific discovery to be experimented on and studied, but it turns out Person B is a mermaid and one of their eggs went missing from the body of water that the well draws from. Person B intends to bring the child home, but the baby is attached to Person A.

National Farm Animals Day & Siblings Day

Person A and Person B are twins whose parents only ever reported one as being born, so they lived their entire lives swapping places to get things and commit tax evasion. But when the family farm is inherited to them, tensions start to grow as they can’t legally split it as they exist as one person. So the two go about an elaborate scheme of trying to kill the other to claim full ownership of the shared identity and the property and wealth attached to it.
