please make sure that wherever you’re at in life, you don’t treat it like a transitory period. don’t waste your college years wishing to already be graduated & have a job. don’t waste your single years wishing for someone to be in love with. if/when those things come, they will come in due time and they will be good. but there is nothing like looking back and feeling empty because you wasted literal years ignoring what you had because you were hoping for something better. while it’s important to better yourself and reach for your goals, don’t neglect the present because that’s where you are now and it’s your now that determines your future.

Hello Tumblr! I will try to write and post my routine here. Basically, I'm in my 3⁰ year of medical school and I'm freaking out this semester. Today we have a test with 62 more bones and many muscles (so many that they lost count). Now that I passed the test, I can focus on other things: like playing the violin, Baldurs Gate and sleeping.
Photo 1: Showing off books I bought at the UNESP book fair.
Photo 2: Drinking a coke while I was dying inside waiting for the practical test on Anatomy of the Locomotor System.

Does a USB drive get heavier as you store more files on it?
Nope. Paradoxically (and theoretically), the more you save on a flash drive, the lighter it gets.
USB drives use Flash memory, which means the the ones and zeros of the data are stored on transistors.
When you save data, a binary zero is set by charging the float gate of the transistor, and a binary one is set by removing the charge.
To charge it, we add electrons, and the mass of each electron is 0.00000000000000000000000000091 grams.
This means that an empty USB drive (which mostly holds zeros) weighs more than a full USB drive (which has ones and zeros). Add data, reduce the weight.

And maybe you won't succeed in anything you want to, but you'll still be loved anyway
It’s crazy how low self-worth fucks with peoples lives

It's been so hot for the last 3 months that I barely remember when was the last time that I had coffee; but today I woke up to rain and wind and all these things that will make you think of a hot cup of coffee. Haven't studied much too, had the privilege to be dumb and ignore my university for a solid month; and now, the dumb part of the story is getting my ass, because I have to turn in all of my activies in 10 days or so (as you can see, I have no idea of what I'm doing here or what's going on. What is time, anyway?). This semester, I'm learning Java - and to not hate myself when it takes me 5 hours to solve a coding problem that can be solved in one single line. What are you learning this semester, stranger? You can send me a DM and talk nonsense about it or just reply here. I hope it's something weird.

even if you love being at home and you don't like going outside and you just want to spend all your time at home (which is totally ok!) it's still healthy to leave the house every once in a while if you can.
if you go outside, it means you get to do this thing called "going home" at the end of the trip, which is pretty neat. you don't get to "go home" if you're always home already.
going home is good for you and it's good for your home. it gives your home a chance to do its job, which is to welcome you back into safety and privacy after an adventure in the outside world. you get to shut out all of the other parts of your life that shouldn't be intruding on your personal time.
if your entire life happens inside your home, you're bringing all that stuff inside with you, you don't get to physically shut out stressors, and you never get to experience the relief of leaving your busy day behind as you shut the front door behind you.
this is part of why mental health walks, going to the grocery store, or sitting on your porch are good for you. it's not so much what you do when you're outside that matters, but the being away from home and then coming back to it. going outside improves your quality of life and it makes being at home much more comfortable.

that comment about how you should not borrow grief from the future has saved me multiple times from spiraling into an inescapable state of anxiety. like every time i find myself thinking about how something in the future could go wrong i remember that comment and i think to myself: well i never know, it might get better. it might not even happen the way i think it will and if it does happen and it is sad and bad ill be sad about it then, when it happens. and it’s somehow soo freeing

I have a new philosophy, and it's something like... Do it for fun & for the sake of expressing yourself, because, whatever you're trying to do, AI can do it better.

I'm trying to be more gentle with myself. Constantly reminding my silly mind that there's no rush. The place is here, the time is now. Make yourself some nice meals; Relearn to enjoy the things you once were curious about.
