obsessed with women mystics who felt drawn to the wounds of God and slept in the heart of Christ…..bataille said “no greater desire exists than a wounded person’s need for another wound”, but the greatest desire is that of a wounded person’s need for a wounded God

Women might well ask, 'Has the Lord spoken only through Moses? Has He not spoken through us as well? (Num. 12:2), but if he has, men have not been accustomed to listening.

Please help a homeless, chronically ill trans woman
Tumblr media
Post date 05/13/21
Making a new post since that tends to help.
My friend Charlotte is a trans woman with Lupus living out of her van. She has dealt with frequent harassment, violence, and instability while homeless and she needs support. She needs at least $160 raised by tomorrow (05/14) for a student loan bill, and more if possible for other upcoming expenses. Ideally trying to save up at least $500. You can read more about her situation here.

I’m in need of money to pay for groceries and transportation as I’ve been trying to increasingly get away from a suffocating and toxic atmosphere in my home. You can help me by donating through my Paypal [email protected]. I have severe OCD, which prevents me from working and from churning content at the rate I need it to possibly convert it into living money. If you feel like people in your online/in person communities are more deserving of financial support, please feel free to help them.

A new religious statue in the town of Davidson, N.C., is unlike anything you might see in church.
The statue depicts Jesus as a vagrant sleeping on a park bench. St. Alban’s Episcopal Church installed the homeless Jesus statue on its property in the middle of an upscale neighborhood filled with well-kept townhomes.
Jesus is huddled under a blanket with his face and hands obscured; only the crucifixion wounds on his uncovered feet give him away.
The reaction was immediate. Some loved it; some didn’t.
“One woman from the neighborhood actually called police the first time she drove by,” says David Boraks, editor of DavidsonNews.net. “She thought it was an actual homeless person.”
That’s right. Somebody called the cops on Jesus.

My faith wouldn’t be half as strong as it is now if it hadn’t been for my friends of other religions forcing me to examine my beliefs so if you’re afraid of interfaith dialogue you should probably think about why that is

Text description:
The working definition that I’m using here for mysticism is that it is a state of experience that attenuates or blurs and interweaves and undoes (or in a word, dissociates) the boundary between the self and the other, the world, God, nothingness, grace, love. Depending on the writer, this “other” can change. For Simone Weil it was love, for Marguerite Porete it was grace. Many scholars before me have seen that these women’s mysticism was a form of feminist protest against the patriarchy, the church, the law.
Each of these women did something radical: they not only obeyed their own bodies and minds, which they had been taught were evil, but insisted upon them. They went away from the society that persecuted them, and wrote about their experiences in obtaining oneness with “God”. I use quotes here because this force is described in different ways depending on the writer. And all of it has to do with a process of obliterating the self as a container that separates us from the rest of all things.”
