I am not a therapist. Nor am I in school for psychology, sex education or anything of the sort. I am just someone who has been affected by sex in some beautiful ways and in some terrible ways. As have many of us. However, I feel as though my trials and tribulations can help so many others. Many of us have also learned the birds and the bees from TV shows, public school, or when it's too late. Many of us were (and are) too afraid to ask questions out of fear of judgement. Which is still so silly to me. We all go through puberty. We all face that awkwardness that comes with learning about our bodies. Why is sex and everything around the subject so taboo? It's time to get rid of that stigma. Welcome to your new sex ed guide. Think of this like Cosmo Magazine meets Big Mouth; This is the Pros and Cons of Promiscuity.

Can we talk about the fact Big Mouth discusses female masturbation?
When I was 18, two of my friends who were older than me, would say stuff like "Female masturbation is a myth. If you're horny just find a guy."
I've always been open about sex and I've had multiple friends ask me if what they were feeling is normal, if it's okay for them to touch themselves.
YES BITCH. Learn your body! Like Tom Segura said in Disgraceful, "I look forward to masturbating, because I know I'm gonna treat me right." Light some candles and be like Missy; explore your sensuality!

“Having balls” is seen as brave and strong and “being a pussy” is seen as weak and fragile, even though vaginas can take a lot and still endure while balls will shrivel with pain with the smallest inconvenience.

This is something I've been hesitant on putting out there already. But there's no time like the present.
When I was 20, my Christmas gift from my father was was money to pay off my student loans.
I texted him one day and asked, "Would you be mad if I used that money for something else?"
He replied, "Hah, it's your money, use it how you want. What did you have in mind?"
"I need an abortion."
This part of my life is an era I've never really enjoyed talking about. But in order for the stigma around abortions to end, we need to have more conversations about abortions.
My father never questioned my reasonings when I told him. All he said was "I support whatever decision you make." And he has stood by that 100%.
I worked in an office where the owners made their political opinions very loudly known. They are hardcore pro-lifers and refuse to see any other side of the story. One of them even said "Women who get abortions shouldn't be alive. They killed a human, therefore they should die as well."
The problem with these statements is women like me get painted like monsters. The office managers said multiple times how wonderful of a person I am, but if they knew what happened, I'm sure I would have been fired without notice.
Women like me walk among us everyday. They're mothers, teachers, doctors, students. We aren't any less of a person for our choice. Our choice was the best choice for our personal life. It only matters to us.
I am grateful for my decision. My life is something beautiful now because of my decision. And I want to use this platform and my experience to be a voice for those who need it.

Welcome!
Hi! Welcome to my Vaginismus journey!
If you’re here, chances are you know what that is… but if you don’t, it’s a chronic vaginal pain condition that causes the muscles in the vagina to spasm and contract, causing pain during penetration (of any kind, including using a tampon).
I’ve only recently been diagnosed with “V” but I’ve realized there’s hardly any information about it! So I’ve decided to change that. Check back in occasionally for updates about my recovery process!
A little bit about me:
I’d like to keep things mostly anonymous, but I’ll share a few things with you!
I’m a student, a musician, and a bilingual bisexual. I feel like part of my purpose on this earth is to help and inspire other people through the things that I’ve gone through. So I’m going to start here! I may not be the wisest, but I hope that the knowledge I do acquire on this journey can at least help one person.
