The negative was way too opaque to print, even after soaking it through with wax, so I’m posting the next best thing -- digitally-inverted scans of the negative. The image on the left is the raw scan but horizontally-flipped with inverted colors, and the one on the right is the same image, but tweaked in Paint.net to increase contrast and counteract the scanning glare. I’ll be using thinner paper for subsequent calotypes to make salt printing possible.

Here it is, my first calotype negative! I’m gonna try to make a salt print of it tomorrow and post it here. It may be difficult though, because the paper is almost opaque.
