Miya Atsumu is the type to blush and mumble to himself after you call to him, singing “Miya-chan~” flirtatiously as you smirk and move in closer to him.

Miya Atsumu is the type to look away and hide behind the sleeves of his cream colored, knit sweater he wears with a loosened tie for his uniform because he wouldn’t dare show you how soft you make him feel.

Miya Atsumu is the type to drop subtle hints for you to use “Miya-chan” again but when you don’t after weeks and weeks of waiting patiently and trying he’s just snaps. “JUST SAY IT ALREADY I’VE BEEN TRYING FOR WEEKS” you sit there shocked…you were not expecting that in the middle of lunch-

Miya Atsumu is the type who won’t admit that he’ll do the little rom-com female lead leg kicks on his bed when you call him “Miya-chan” on the phone. I don’t know something about hearing on the phone must hit different.

Miya Atsumu is the type who would have teammates that have start teasing him about the wonderful discovery of “Miya-chan” but he will take no shit. “YEAH THAT’S RIGHT! SHE CALLS ME MIYA-CHAN AND I LOVE HER FOR IT! Try me bitch”

Miya-chan is the type who only likes his nicknames from you. To him, his actual name is kind of mid now-

You rush over to his house hoping you make it in time after his friends sent you an emergency message. Bursting in through the door, you ask what’s wrong while still catching your breath but all you see are balloons and confetti. A few of his teammates guide you two a seat while explaining this so-called emergency. You’re sat down across the table from him and the explanation finishes with, “We need to feed him some cake!” They hand you a spoon with innocent smiles as if they didn’t just give you a heart attack. You get up and try to leave but they just hold you down. You resist and try to get out of their grip until you see his face. He looks saddened at how against you are at the idea and well considering you were so determined to leave it only made sense. You stop resisting and snatch the spoon out his friend’s hand, shooting a glare at his teammates. “Fine,” you mutter while hesitantly scooping up some cake. He’ll ask if you’re sure and you respond, “do you want it or not?” trying to act tough. He then quickly eats the cake off the spoon before he loses the chance and his face is now glowing with the warmest, softest smile. “Mmm tastes good!” He compliments, laughing and looking happy than ever. Now you can’t help but smile a bit too, “I’m glad, happy birthday,” you reply, grinning a bit with a tender and loving gaze set on him.

You have to give him some reassurance for his efforts and he feels a bit better afterwards. Like out nowhere he will straight up kiss you and say, “sorry had to get rid of this bad taste in my mouth,” completely unbothered. It makes no sense but at the same time it makes all the sense. You sit there, partly shocked by the poor quality of his flirting in the moment considering it was him of all people. He looks down at his notebook with the biggest smirk as he tries to avoid eye contact, resisting the urge to look up to see your reaction

It’s all or nothing but in a misleading way. He sets it like a pick up line but spikes it like “You’re a cutie *winks* be my girlfriend 🧍…*winks pt. 2*”. You aren’t really prepared for this I mean who would be though. Unsure of how to respond, you nod and they realise they were too forward with their approach…like everyone else already has…okay give him a break he’s trying. He clears his throat and apologizes and he’s quite cute now that confident facade has disappeared.

He knows he can’t tell them so he gives you the little note with check boxes and you gladly tick yes and hand it back. You wish you could’ve filmed his reaction, the way he tries to hold back the smile that is practically bursting. His eyes are wide and they have a sort of sparkle to them like when a little kid meets their idol for the first time.

Instead he tends to say really sweet things like recalling a memory from when you were kids or even recently. “I remember when we were younger, I never wanted to hold your hand,” he laughs as he smiles softly, “I even remember how we had to hold hands every time we didn’t get along which was surprisingly a lot,” he continues, “I kind of wish I was a kid again,” he says laughing lightly, obviously implying the fact that he wishes he could be as close to you as he was back then. He kind of wishes he appreciated those moments back then more…
