I understand the appeal of wanting every adult hero to instinctively adopt teenage Peter Parker, but can it really beat the hilarity of acknowledging that at 15 Peter was 5'10", unusually buff, went by a moniker with Man in it, wore a creepy full face mask, and had a tightly guarded secret identity and probably a Queens accent thick enough to have come out of a jello mold, and adult heroes reasonably responded to him by going, “Wow, this grown man is an immature asshole for no reason.”

This is Marc. Not Jake. This whole scene where he’s being confronted by Dr. Harrow and then attacks him as well as himself? It is Marc.

Mohamed Diab himself has confirmed on multiple occasions that this is Marc.

By ignoring that and claiming that this scene is actually Jake, you are ignoring the depth of Marc and his psyche. This is supposed to show us that Marc isn’t as put together as he tries to act and that he is, in fact, self destructive and vulnerable.

Furthermore, claiming that this is Jake is, to some degree, ableist, as it pushes the fandom idea of Jake being the unstable “evil alter,” which is a harmful stereotype wherein a system has one alter that is evil, harmful, and unstable. This stereotype was popularized by media such as the movie Split, and it hurts the DID and OSDD (etc.) communities immensely by stigmatizing them and painting them as inherently evil and something that should be feared.

This scene, without the context of Marc’s characterization in earlier episodes, loses its depth and it’s true meaning. Labeling this scene as the work of Jake paints him as a harmful stereotype and is harmful for the systems within and without the community.

Octogoblin headcanons: part 2

Minor spiderman: no way home spoilers

After settling back into their world they tried to catch up on the new technology with the help of Peter. The spiderman had to spend a few hours showing them how to use touch screen phones. Norman didn't mind but Otto was grumpy about it. A great scientist like him couldn't even use a damn cell phone.

Otto and Norman got close to Peter and MJ, considering them as the closest family that they had left. The couple would invite them to events or over to their house for meals or a cup of coffee, not wanting them to be alone with no one other than themselves to keep company.

The two learned that Peter had graduated college with a degree in biophysics and his doctorate in biochemistry. He was a Biochemist for a few companies, but was let go from those companies, and became a science teacher. He also did freelance photography as a side job for extra money but missed working in the lab. So Norman once again, offered if he wanted to work for him as a biochemist researcher. This time, Peter accepts. Also, in secret, Norman and Otto help Peter with any suit upgrades regarding his spiderman suit.

Otto wanted to live life normally, to pick up where he left off in his work, but the actuators began to become antsy. They were no longer murderous and full of rage trying to force Otto to build the machine again, but they were very curious, almost like four curious children wanting to explore the world and test their limits much to Otto's expense. Because of this, he figured he could ask Peter if it was okay for him to come on patrols with him as spiderman to give them the freedom to do what they want, so long as it is for helping others and not killing them. Peter was up for it, kind of happy to have a partner to help fight crime

At first, the public opinion was very distrustful of Norman and Otto. There was even a mob of people holding up signs and practically screaming for them to be sent to jail during their trial. Even after they were free of charges there was a mob of people outside of Oscorp demanding to get rid of them for a few weeks. They seem to calm down after a while but now and then Norman and Otto would get dirty looks or the casual angry person yelling at them to get the hell out of New York or to rot in prison. Norman's used to it, having dealt with this kind of treatment before. But Otto wasn't used to this kind of treatment.

People used to admire Otto, his work made people look up to him a lifetime ago. But after the accident people have become afraid of him and would run in terror at the sight of him. It didn't help that he stuck out like a sore thumb, unable to hide his actuators, causing people to look at him in disdain or fear just by walking down the street. He didn't blame them, they had a right to be afraid. When the arms were in control he was ruthless and cold, willing to injure or kill anyone that stood in his way. He was a real monster back then. But now that he was in control that's all he could think about... Unable to shake the guilt of all that he has done, all the lives he has taken, all of the pain he has caused. He kept it bottled up of course not wanting to worry Norman, but the guilt was slowly growing. He wanted to make it right by helping the community at Peter's side, wanting to atone for all that he has done.

It was rough at first when a big crime happened such as a bank robbery. Peter with the help of Otto was able to stop the robbers but a crying little girl around four or five seemed to have gotten separated by her mother which caused Otto to walk toward her ready to help her before she screamed when he came near calling for her mother. This caused the doctor to freeze seeing as a woman ran up to her from the crowd, pulling the child close before yelling at Otto thinking he was going to attack her, which caused an uproar by the crowd. At the moment Spiderman tried to calm the crowd down but they continued to yell at Otto, calling him a freak or a monster and throwing stuff at him. It was too much for Otto so he ran out of the bank, climbing buildings with his actuators who were just as frightened getting away from the angry crowd.

Peter tried to look for Otto, having learned from Norman that he hadn't returned home, so he, and Norman looked around the city. After a while, Norman and Peter were able to find Otto at the top of the apartment building where he and his wife Rosie used to live. Otto was just sitting on the rooftop, his features full of shame and solemn until Norman and Peter made it to the top, surprising the doctor. Otto at that moment just pulled Norman into an embrace, his face wet indicating that he had been crying. He wasn't a very emotional man but after today was just too much. He made a mistake, he should have known that no one would trust him, he has caused too much damage. Otto wanted to give up on helping Spiderman, feeling that the city hated him too much. Peter begged him to reconsider, he just needed to prove that he was good and eventually they would come around.

Otto wanted to disagree but then they saw fire trucks were zooming down the road below, heading for a big cloud of smoke, causing Peter out on his mask heading that way. Otto was hesitant at first but Norman ushered him to go, saying he'll catch up. Then Otto followed Peter finding a building was on fire. They learned that there were three people stuck in the building two women and a baby. They didn't hesitate to run in. Peter was able to find the two women, who were stuck on the first floor falling from the second floor where the baby was. They were both the mothers of the baby who was only one year old. Otto didn't waste any time going after the baby as Peter got the couple out. After Peter got the couple out he turned back to the building that was beginning to collapse. He was about to run back in when Otto jumped out of the window on the second floor, being caught by his actors who landed safely on the ground as the building collapsed behind him. The crowd, Peter, and the couple looked at him in shock practically frozen until they heard a baby crying, seeing that Otto hid the baby in his black trench coat, keeping her safe from the flames. He then returned her to her mothers who cried tears of joy, holding her close before looking up at Otto, pulling him into a hug thanking him profusely before the paramedics took them away. Otto could only stand there in shock when the crowd began to cheer, all clapping and praising Otto and Spiderman for saving the family. Otto looked at the crowd in shock before seeing Norman who was part of the crowd, smiling at him, proud of what Otta had done. This only caused him to cry tears of joy, feeling as Peter pat his back. Maybe Peter was right, he just needs to keep at it and eventually, he'll be an honorable hero like Spiderman.

So Otto continues to join Peter on patrol, helping him fight crime and change the public's view of him. Norman, since he was cured of the performance enhancers and can't join them, would help them in the lab and began to build Otto's machine, using the Arc reactor that Otto brought from the multiverse. This was a success, they were able to make sustainable, renewable clean energy for the entire world... They even had enough energy from the arc reactor to work on another project... A project that could possibly help them travel through the multiverse.

(Eventually, I want to turn these headcanons into fics but im writing this out as headcanons to help me better remember)

yeah ofc! All of this is mostly centered around Tom's MCU Peter

Sexuality Headcanon: okay so I feel at this point pretty much the ENTIRE fandom agrees on this but I think peter is bi. You cannot convince me that peter won't be crushing on Harley when he (hopefully) meets him. I love Peter and MJ though and after NWH I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they can rebuild

Gender Headcanon: I headcanon Peter as a trans man. I think he always knew but it took him a while to come out because he was he was nervous that it would be disrespectful to his parents. When he finally came out May ofc was very accepting, he was just kinda sad that his parents only ever got to know him as their daughter not their son even though May always tells him he always was. We stan trans boi Peter!

A ship I have with said character: I really ship him with MJ and I love their dynamic. I headcanon MJ as genderfluid and see them as pretty much a t4t couple so they will always have my heart. However, I recently got into Peterx Harley and even though they have no interactions I think they have a lot of potential and the Tumblr writers write the cutest fics so...

A BROTP I have with said character: I LOVE NED AND PETERS FRIENDSHIP!!!! And as a Filipino kid myself, I have to put it out there that Ned's Lola would LOVE Peter. I cried so hard when Ned and Peter got united in endgame. Ned always had Peter's back unlike the other variants' friends so gotta love him for that. Similar to MJ, I don't think I could stand it if Ned and Peter didn't find each other again.

A NOTP I have with said character: Literally any of the ships with the OG 6. Like comeon guys why are we shipping Peter with Tony, Steve, and Bucky! It's gross and it's just so uncomfortable to see on the Peter tags. I ship spideypool, but the MCU spidey(Tom's variant) with Wade feels wrong. I'd much rather see Andrew's Peter gert with Wade.

A random headcanon: General Opinion over said character: On the topic of Ned's Lola, I think her and Peter would be besties. He would go to her house all the time with Ned and just spoil them with food. Peter would give anything for a slice of her bibingka.
