just wanted to say ty for recommending the finch app! I've started using it and feel more optimistic about it than any to-do-list type app I've tried before, haha. (and accessorising the little bird is fun too!) appreciate the rec, i don't think i would have come across it otherwise 🌻
Yay, I'm so glad! I do think that accessorizing the bird (mine's name is Waffles) and decorating their room is kinda fun and gives me the appropriate amount of reward/motivation to cross off tasks. I found it while searching for ADHD apps and have been using it every day for nearly 4 months.

A nice ask for you!! What was the moment when you realized you were hooked on Lone Star? What made you sit up and go "oh"?
I watched s1 before s2 came out, and I enjoyed it a lot and wished there was more to watch, but mostly I was in love with Marjan. I didn't realize s2 had aired until it was already over, so I binged it and that's when I was firmly in 911ls fandom mode. That said, I'm not sure what the moment was? Maybe 2x08, with the intense TNT and Tarlos scenes and development. I was aware of parts of 2x12 before I got to that episode, and I couldn't help but watch some of it ahead of time, so I guess I was also anticipating all of that angst and making up.
I was firmly in fandom mode from September through January, when s3 started. It was absolute torture getting hooked 4 months ahead of any new content. (We are not even going to talk about the month-long torture that was the ice storm arc.)

One thing I will never get over about 3x09 is how they devoted an entire storyline to the fact that Owen and Gwyn's fighting at the end of their marriage was so incredibly traumatic for A BIRD...but completely failed to address that there was also A HUMAN CHILD present as all of this happened!
It seems like they wanted to focus on Owen's grief at the loss of Gwyn, and I like the fact that he examined his past actions and expressed some regrets...but not even acknowledging how TK might have been impacted by all of this feels like such a missed opportunity!
Just look at him!!! 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
I would much rather explore this poor baby's feelings about it all!

A woman went viral for being turned down for a next interview for a role, she asks the recruiter what she did wrong, the recruiter tells her they were “concerned about her lack of effort in her appearance.”
She explains she wore a freshly ironed blazer with a collared top. Her nails were painted a professional beige. She got a blowout for her hair, so a professional style. She had on subdued gold earrings.
The only thing she wasn’t wearing was makeup; she states she really doesn’t wear makeup, and only had chapstick on, as her skin is sensitive. Her lawyer mother has already explained she has no legal case against the company for any type of gender-based discrimination.
Just in case anyone wants to ask why feminists still refer to the “pink tax” or rail against more and more elaborate makeup trends being pushed on girls and women.
Women being punished socially for not wearing makeup is still a feminist issue.
