Zero, up to this point, has proven time and time again that he acts purely to benefit himself through any means necessary. Yes, he clearly liked Jude, but you could've argued that he only liked Jude for what he could give him: money, power, and sex.

This right here is one of the first times we see Zero completely open up about his feelings with no ulterior motive. You can even see on his face that he's surprised he said it out loud, accidentally letting some emotional vulnerability slip through his attempt at a collected facade. Like, this notoriously egotistical man thinks about Jude first? All the time?! Undoubtedly romantic as hell.

Before forming a close bond, neither Zero nor Jude had anyone in their lives who thought of them in this way or genuinely cared about their emotional well-being. They were just a means to an end, a nuisance, an afterthought. But from this point onward, they can now find that emotional rock in each other. What an amazing feeling that must be for both of them.

It's a god-tier dynamic I'm afraid.
