Part 2 of the Commission I did for a client. They wanted me to paint up a Zombie Doctor Strange, It was super cool to paint, tried to match the comic books a bit more in style. Love the sculpts @cmongames made for their Marvel Zombies game.
It felt so good to finish painting this set. These fine ladies come from Angry Zombies Set #3. It was still for sale on my E-Bay page when I wrote up this post. I've had a lot of people look at it but no one has bought it yet. Probably because I am not willing to sell my time as cheap as people want me to. It took me forever to paint all these and I am not a bad painter. They were fun.
Every miniature I paint is unique. Thye all have their own personalities. I give them names. I paint them as if they were going into my own private collection. Many do but not this set. I don't have a regular Zombicide base game. I like Medieval Fantasy RPG. I'll take a bow and arrow over a gun any day. Not that I can't fire a gun mind you, I'm a heck of shot with a rifle or a handgun and mediocre with a shotgun. I am originally from northern Michigan after all.
Anyway, my interest in Medieval role-playing is why I went metal over disease. Not to mention, why does the disease affect their breasts? Armor just made more sense in my mind.
I liked this set because it was when I started messing around with zombie skin tones. I'm not going to lie, I am pretty sure there aren't many black zombies out there not because there wouldn't be any but because they are just so much harder to paint. The blood and disease doesn't show up as well. The coloring is challenging. I shall however keep trying!
board game night with friends tonight ❤️ we spent nearly 6 hours playing zombicide.. we played it so strategically and safe because we've yet to actually win at this game before. we got all the way to the final round, we get the exit open, we're all sprinting to the exit, and one friend decides, 'because its funny', that he was gonna jump in the nearly exploding car to run over some zombies before exiting.... just for him to end up dying and causing us to lose the game 🙃
Sooo since niche media combos have once again filled my head today... what if the NKotR and friends had builds as Zombicide survivors?
To explain as survivors kill zombies they build Adrenaline Points (AP) that let them unlock more skills. These are split into 4 colors: blue is their starting skill, yellow always gives +1 action, and orange and red which you can only pick one each of at a time (example below)

Mitch's and Wendy's builds focus on ranged combat while Max is all melee, and the others fall somewhere in between. Ryan is set up so you can take him in either direction. Wendy and Kevin might also be good at covering a lot of ground to act as support
What do I have? TWO WILSON FISK MINIS, FUCK YEEEEAAAAAH
[If you don't know, Vincent D'Onofrio's Kingpin is flat-out my favorite MCU character. I'm so ridiculously excited that he's back for Echo.]
Having issues with my airbrush, so here's another simple brush prime. Please notice that the Fisk on the left is a zombie.
I'm really really really in love with Pro Acryl paints, you guys.
I wasn't sure that rakarth flesh would work for his skin, but I'm moderately pleased. And very amused that I just don't have good paint for white people skin.
His suit will be bright white– I'm aiming for MCU Fisk and not comic Fisk. The zombie version will have his ridiculous color palette.
