“Banquet” by @shengzhe__
“In this series, we see a man about to eat sushi off a naked man’s body. This practice originates from Japan, it is commonly known as “body sushi” or “naked sushi” in English. Typically, sushi or sashimi are served on a naked woman’s body, which is called “Nyotaimori.” In “Banquet,” Sheng Zhe reversed such a convention with naked male body for the display of sushi, and turned it into a “Nantaimori.” Under normal circumstances, no interactions are allowed between the guests and the model. Yet, in Sheng Zhe’s “Banquet,” a constrained sense of desire derives from the feast.”
