I’ve been playing GW2 since 2014 and I never thought to draw my Commander in her werewolf form until today??

I finished the Skyscale and Pharus in the same week and now after 1100+ hours my ranger can officially retire.

I’ve been making a lot of gold doing bounty trains with a guild I joined and splurged after a two day run to get some nicer weapon skins that fit into my character’s stories.

Yylvai was a Norn Ranger and Commander who after defeating Zhaitan with her comrade and best friend Nejaht the Sylvari, rushed her team over to Maguma when the Mordrem threat began. After the death of her mentor Eir she completely lost her composure, fell into a drunken stupor. Yylvai wandered to the edge of the Pact Encampment and Nejhat followed to ensure her friend would be ok. Yylvai slipped and fell over the edge into the depths of the Verdant Brink. Nejaht tried to save her, but Mordremoth’s grip on her finally took hold after fighting his wishes since the waking of the dragon, and in that split second of weakness, was prevented from saving her friend. 

An ex-Priory Scholar and rogue Necromancer, Nyra Blackmist was studying the Mordrem guard under the supervision of a Lich. Nyra and came across Yylvai’s remains in Maguma, and to prove her worth to the Lich revived Yylvai to serve under her. Yylvai’s death was so traumatic that her memories remained locked away when she was revived. She was a blank slate who was trained to be a commander under the Lich. Her old shortbow was consumed by the vines, transformed into a Mordrem weapon. Yylvai, Nyra, and the Lich then followed the rumors of Balthazar and King Palawa Joko returning from the Mists/Domain of the Lost intending to join the Awakened armies in the Desolation. Yylvai began commanding Awakened armies in the Desolation, and for her efforts was awarded a Reforged Warhound, a jackal made from the remains of the fallen god Abbadon, and the longbow Shifting Sands for mastering her mount.

When the threat of Balthazar reached Tyria, Nejhat took charge of the trek to the Crystal Desert. After exploring the Oasis, Highlands, and Riverlands, she traveled to the Desolation, where on the horizon for the first time since Maguma, she found her old friend with an army of Awakened at her side.

A Hastily Written Letter to Nyra Blackmist (Late Personal Story)

Dearest Nyra, You won’t believe what I have seen so far! The land of Orr is so very fascinating, albeit… rather decrepit. And very, very damp. I am still recovering from an injury I sustained during the Battle of Fort Trinity but you know I won’t let a flesh wound get in the way of a new discovery! They say the Marshal and Firstborn Caithe scoured these lands a long time ago and uncovered it’s juiciest secrets but I won’t give up hope. Maybe if I stumble upon something especially harrowing I might be able to get a peek into the knowledge the Archons know. So exciting!

My friend, I miss you so terribly. I hope you are fairing well on the home front. I will do my best to write as often as possible and share my notes with you on the extent of Zhaitan’s powers over his minions that my squadron has gathered. As a fellow necromancer I’m sure you will appreciate the data.

Although… sometimes I think it would be fun to be with the Priory explorers assisting Commander Yylvai and Nejaht on the front lines. My current job doesn’t allow me to stray very far from Fort Trinity unless we’re directing an assault. Always with the meetings, the planning, in and out, in and out, only catching glimpses as we press deeper into enemy territory…. at least Marshal Trahearne and Agent Zrii are good conversationalists. That Vigil nut, Afanen, I am convinced he has a skull thicker than a river drake’s. But aren’t most members of the Vigil? Shh, don’t tell anyone I wrote that.
