Younger!Bruno AU, because I have no self-control
***
Félix knew, logically, that Pepa’s little brother had just turned eleven. He’d seen Bruno around, but only ever at a distance. The kid didn’t hang around much and when he was around he was usually with Alma, Julieta or Pepa. Never alone.
But now, up close, Bruno didn’t even look eleven. He looked younger; tiny and scrawny, with big green eyes like Pepa’s. He was standing slightly behind Pepa, peering up at Félix shyly, twisting his ruana between his hands.
“Brunito, say hello,” Pepa said. She took one of Bruno’s hands, gently detangling it from the ruana and grasping it reassuringly. Bruno mumbled, “Hola,” not quite looking at Félix properly.
The poor kid looked exhausted. Pepa had mentioned the latest few visions had taken a lot out of him.
Smiling, Félix held his hand out. “Good to meet you, hombrecito,” he said cheerfully. “I’m Félix.”
Bruno looked at his offered hand dubiously, like he wasn’t sure what it was. After a moment, he took Félix’s hand and shook it. For such a little guy, he had a good grip.
He really didn’t look eleven at all. Well, Félix knew the feeling: he’d always been mistaken for younger too. Still was sometimes, despite being sixteen and he was quite proud of his facial hair, thanks very much. He’d like to think that height didn’t matter, but he also knew all too well that some kids could be real jerks about it.
Bruno’s lips twitched up in a small, shy smile. “You too,” he said, still looking at the ground. Pepa beamed at them both, sunshine around her head. She let go of Bruno’s hand and Bruno stepped back again, but didn’t hide behind her this time.
Well, guess I’m looking after you now, Félix thought. Because even then, even in that first meeting, it was painfully obvious that Bruno needed someone on his side; someone who wasn’t a member of his family.
So Félix promised himself that, even if he and Pepa didn’t work out (though of course they would, they were soul mates, he was sure of it) he’d still keep an eye out for Bruno.
After all, everyone needed a friend. Shy little prophets were no exception.

A lot of the discussion about Dad!Bruno and whether he'd want kids tends to either lean hard in either direction with people either saying "oh of course he wants to be a dad he'd be great with kids etc" or "He's perfectly satisfied being a kooky tío! Kids of his own would stress him out!" But honestly I feel like it's more complicated than that.
I think whether or not he'd want to be a dad could be affected by a lot of things, and imo those things would make him feel conflicting and complicated feelings about raising a family.
- Alma potentially placing pressure on her children to continue the Madrigal bloodline (especially with Bruno being her only son). Bruno perhaps feeling like he's failed the family in that regard. - on the contrary, Bruno potentially feeling relieved of that pressure once his sisters married and had families.
- Bruno feeling like, regardless of whether he wanted to have kids, he wasn't given a choice. Barring yourself from the world and feeling like you missed out on major events in your life, like falling in love and starting a family, would make most people feel some kind of way. Even if that wasn't a goal in your life, feeling like you missed out on even making that choice yourself can be very upsetting for many. Bruno basically taking away his own agency in that regard, in favor of running away could influence his mindset on whether he'd want a family of his own. - on the flip side to that, feeling relieved that the "choice was made for me". As a prophet he might have a "whatever destiny has in store" kind of views of this.
- Bruno not wanting kids for fear of not being able to properly take care of them. He may feel like he might pass down whatever negative traits he attributes to himself and that terrifies him. He never wants to put a child through what he's been through. - again, on the flip side, Bruno wanting kids because he truly believes he can do better in places where his mother may have faltered. He truly believes he can learn from his mother's mistakes, and in turn his children can learn from his mistakes and so on. He knows what he's been through and now knows how to combat it should his child ever be going through similar turmoil.
Anyway just some food for thought. This isn't me bashing anyone's headcanons, on the contrary this presents perfectly valid reasoning for either case. This is more me personally expressing that Bruno's feelings might be more complicated than just "I do/don't want kids".

CW: alcohol mention pt2!!
Tumblr media
*drunk young Bruno stumbles and hugs a lamp post, looking at (y/n) lovingly*
Bruno: hehehe you were really good at karaoke by the way *giggles*
He looks down, his eyebrows furrows cutely as you can hear the gears in his head turning
Bruno looks up in your eyes, dead serious and smiling
Bruno: I should know, I was looking at you the whole time. I wanted to kiss you, ya know hehe
He squeezes the wooden post that he’s hugging
Bruno: e-everyone was looking at you so… so… I wanted to make sure… that they know.. that… you’re only for me!!! 😤
Birthday party (for a friend) tipsy y’all and ofc gotta have tipsy Bruno too because apparently that’s my priority when I get tipsy. Alcohol is definitely the truth serum for this one and good for him too! It’s good to let out your inner thoughts sometimes. And I’m sure he would most likely be able to be himself when he’s able to relax a bit and have fun with people he trust enough to be loose with! I.e Agustin and Felix!!
Okie have a goodnight friendos hehehe

There was a beat of silence, then Camilo blurted, “So, are we talking about Bruno now?”
Mirabel leaned over the table to look at him past her padre. The ends of her hair dipped in her soup. “Where were you? Was it dangerous? Tío Félix said we couldn’t see you earlier because you were hurt.”
“Miraboo, your hair.”
“Is that why you look so bad?”
“Camilo!” Félix scolded.
“What? I thought Tía Julieta fed him earlier? He looks-” Camilo’s impression was not flattering, but Bruno couldn’t argue its accuracy.
“You don’t look like you ate Mamí’s cooking,” Mirabel added, squeezing her hair with a napkin.

I remember seeing something in your tags where you said you had a few ideas for episodes for the Encanto series. Do you mind sharing them with me? if you want of course. (I've already written the basic premise for seasons 1-4 but I'm happy to hear any ideas you got)
ooh of course! these are just some brainstormed thoughts nothing substantial but
- mirabel gets her new room (because we didn’t see it in the movie)
- julieta cooking with her daughters as a bonding exercise
- bruno goes out into the town with his sisters and they talk to the townspeople about everything
- mirabels having nightmares/flashbacks of casita falling on her and starts thinking there’s cracks everywhere
- antonio and Dolores doing literally anything I love them
- alma falls back into old habits but the family’s there to steer her in the right direction
- luisa gets a fun part in her room! (Based on the concept art)
- the husbands + bruno have a boys night out !
- isa and Dolores have a heart to heart when they plan to spend the day together
- camilo and Bruno put on a play for the whole community and the whole family helps!
- pepa brings bruno around to try new things since he’s missed so much
- madrigal grandkids have a sleepover
- triplets flashback to when they first get their gifts and it’s the first week of absolute CHAOS in the encanto
- day of little candles themed ep where alma and the family go to the river and alma tells them all about pedro (maybe a flashback to life before dos oruguitas)
- isabela adjusting to her new identity and the villagers still subconsciously think of her as her “perfect” version
- someones birthday and the family throw the best party ever
- mirabel and bruno reflect on what’s changed and how the future can be scary
- this one’s entirely self indulgent but mirabel goes to the local seamstress to get advice and ends up being taken on board as an assistant
- camilo and Marco get all the town kids to partake in the ultimate encanto football match
- luisa having a day off where the family do everything for her (she deserves it)
- christmas ep because why not!
- flashback to grandkids as younger for some preteen Dolores and isa moments
- antonio starts school and is super nervous and struggles a bit but he has his family for support
- mirabel not being used to having attention on her all the time and feeling like she has to live up to new expectations because she’s “the miracle” (this isn’t her being a leader or anything this is literally just her brain assuming they expect stuff from her)
- triplets bday!! (Can be from any time)
- mirabel and Antonio have a picnic
- Dolores and Mariano get a date set up for them by camilo
- madrigal sisters talk about their feelings from when mirabel went missing
- agustin and julieta have an anniversary coming up so agustin wants to make it the most special ever (shenanigans insue)
- pepa and felix go out for the night and pepa is insanely talented on the dance floor
- all the parents go away and Bruno is left to babysit
- isabela wants to make some friends after not having many due to her wanting to keep up appearances
- Dolores wants a new outfit and goes to mirabel for help
- luisa stands up to the donkey man
- julieta and alma moments
I cant think of more on the spot so if anyone wants to leave suggestions in comments!

Week One: Introduction!
@encanto-extended-edition
OMG how have I never done a proper introduction of my girl??? Anyways…
Full name: Angela Leilani Yaamil Morales Estrada
Age at the time of the movie: 48 years old (December 8th, 1901)
Angel was initially a name holder for the reader insert in my fic, “Why did it have to be me?” She was never intended to become a full fledged OC, but thanks to several supportive friends, Angela evolved into what she is now.
Angela is born to parents Guillermo and Anamaria in 1901, and shortly after childbirth, Anamaria sadly passes away, leaving Angela to be raised primarily by Anamaria’s parents, Quinuama and Raymundo. She is the youngest of six cousins on her maternal side, and she knows very little about her father’s extended family. The passing of Anamaria puts Guillermo in an inconsolable depression, leaving his daughter to be brought up by her grandparents due to his emotional absence. Her family owns and runs a tailoring shop in the Encanto, renowned for their fine fiber arts and beautifully crafted clothes. Angela is best known for her impressive bead work and crocheting, as she enjoys fixating on tiny details.
At age five, she befriends the Madrigal triplets, the four of them becoming close companions, but especially between Angela and Bruno. The two of them grow close over the years, considering the other to be their best friend. I’ll save the juicy details of their companionship for Week two, but to summarize, their friendship takes a dramatic twist following the breakup of Angela and her fiancé when she is 19.
Following in her mother’s footsteps, she joins the church choir at a young age, and quickly blossoms into a vocal star, devoting her time to organizing musical events and writing songs. Later in life, she takes to traveling outside of the Encanto, something inside her yearning to know more about the world and escape the limitations she feels trapped in. She gains herself a notable reputation as a performer in multiple social clubs and lounges, her name taking her across South America, and eventually across the sea.
Angela’s personality and mannerisms are based a lot on my own. She is extremely caring and compassionate for others, but often has a hard time deciphering her own emotions, and will usually bottle up her complicated feelings to save herself from causing trouble. She is often lovingly criticized as being overly dramatic by her family and friends, causing her to become extremely cautious and anxious about how she presents herself to others. Sometimes, something small will set off her temper, and she gets very cold and unresponsive as a defense mechanism, or if something makes her deeply upset after a buildup of repressed feelings and stress, she will fall apart into tears. Often times, her stimming gets interpreted as flirtatious behavior, and her attempts at masking usually have the same effect (hair twirling, too much eye contact, smiling and nodding).
A few little bits of information and trivia:
The bracelet she is almost always seen wearing was gifted to her on her fifth birthday. It had originally belonged to her mother. It is made up of pearls, jade, and a thin gold chain. Her rosary is constructed of similar materials.
Leilani was her intended name in canon, as Guillermo wanted to name her after his mother, but Anamaria immediately called her baby ‘her angel’ when she was born, so the name Angela was chosen instead and Leilani was bestowed as her second name.
I imagine her voice sounding like that of Angela Aguilar when she’s younger, and evolving into a vocal powerhouse like Beyoncé or Selena.
She is terrible at cooking. Her grandmother and aunts had tried to ingrain the kitchen skills into her at a young age, but it stressed her out because she wasn’t naturally gifted in it. She can make a good cup of coffee, but it’s best to leave to crafting of fine foods in the hands of someone more capable and confident.
💖Some amazing art from some amazing people💖

In Encanto/Owl House AU, how does the Madrigals feel about being students at Hexside?
(For context in this Au, Mirabel and Camilo are 14, Luisa is 16, Isabela and Dolores are 17 or 18. Antonio is still 5. The reason for this is because I wanted all the grandkids attending Hexide at the same time)
They all like being students at Hexide (or so they all say) except for Mirabel. She's spent every year the last nine years (assuming you enter Hexide as age 5) switching tracks and feels unable to master any. She doesn't know what track she wants to study and feels restricted only being allowed to study one.
But anytime she brings up the idea of studying more than one track, her family always responds with something along the lines of "That's what your uncle Bruno said. There's a reason we don't talk about him 🤨"
Isabela is the star student like Amity, and is annoyed at being related to Mirabel who's known for being bad at everytrack (same dynamic Amity and Willow before the events on the show). Also similar to Amity, Isabela intends to try out for the Emporer's Coven. Not because she wants to but because Abuela wants her too.
When they were younger, Alma pressured the Triplets to try out for the Emporer's Coven. Bruno, who used to be the golden child of the family, came close. But later on realized how unfair the Coven System is and ran away to become a wild witch. And now Alma pushes the same expectations she had on her kids onto her grandkids, especially Isabela, which is secretly making her miserable.
After 9 years of going through every single track and her family dismissing her idea of studying more than one. Mirabel decides to actually seek Bruno out. It turns out he's not actually as scary and dangerous and everyone (including his Wanted posters) made him seem. (He's not a cool criminal like Eda)
He's kinda pathetic and literally just wants to be left alone to study all types of magic. Mirabel reveals she's his niece (he left before she was born) and convinces him to teach her all types of magic.

i’ve been reading your prompts and i think they’re absolutely amazing. i especially love your actual baby brother bruno au, and was wondering if you could do another one with julieta and pepa bonding with/being protective over bruno? (if you’re still accepting prompts, that is). i love your writing!
Madrigal triplets (or in this case, siblings) supremacy 👏👏
(And aro-ace Bruno!)
Tumblr media
The front door of Casita slammed open and Julieta flinched in shock to hear her little brother shout, "IF YOU WANT ME TO GO, YOU'LL HAVE TO DRAG ME!"
And Alma, even louder: "DON'T YOU DARE RAISE YOUR VOICE AT ME, YOUNG MAN!"
"THEN STOP TRYING TO SET ME UP AND LEAVE ME ALONE! I DON'T WANT TO GET MARRIED, END OF DISCUSSION!"
Then his bedroom door slammed and Julieta and Pepa were left gaping at each other in silence across the kitchen table, their cups of coffee immediately forgotten.
Their mamá was at it again. Trying to play match-maker, not understanding that Bruno simply wasn't interested. Alma thought it was his anxiety and shyness holding him back; she thought his depression was warping his view of himself. Julieta could understand that logic; after all, that was what she'd wondered too at first, until she heard Bruno out.
Romance, relationships, marriage and everything that came with it, were of no interest to him. For years, the mere mention of sex made him wrinkle his nose in disgust. Once, when he was sixteen, a girl tried to kiss him by the river and he ran straight to Julieta's stall and he avoided that particular classmate of his for a week.
Their little brother was five years younger than them. Not the biggest of age gaps, but Alma had always drilled it into them that they were The Big Sisters. It was their job to keep Bruno safe.
Even from Mamá if they must.
Julieta still remembered the night they got their Miracle; she remembered holding her newborn brother and crying for her Papá, sitting outside the newly formed Casita with Pepa, as a suspicious and frightened Alma went to investigate the living house. For a while, Julieta had been convinced that Alma would never come out; the house would eat her up, and Julieta would have to look after her sister and brother all by herself.
She remembered vowing again and again to protect her baby brother, a silent promise to herself and to their papá.
So Julieta stood now, Pepa right behind her, and went to Bruno's room.
She knocked, but didn't wait for a response before opening the door. The knocking was more of a formality anyway; unless he was in the ante-chamber or main room, he'd never hear her.
There seemed to be more sand than last time. Or maybe she was imagining it. The stairs to the vision cave seemed bigger.
She hoped she was imagining that.
"Brunito?" Julieta made for the second, smaller staircase, leading to his bedroom. "Bruno, it's just us."
Bruno was sitting on the edge of his bed, glaring at the wall. At age twenty-five, he was the spitting image of Pedro. His nails dug into his blanket and he looked like he was about to scream or cry.
Pepa pushed past Julieta, practically running to the bed and throwing herself down gracelessly, flinging an arm around Bruno's shoulders.
"Y'know," she said with a big, dramatic sigh. "I always thought Mamá needed a hobby. Bet this is all because she's bored."
Bruno's lips twitched, an almost-smile.
Julieta sat on his other side, more gentle than her twin sister. Ever since Isabela and Pepa had been born two years ago, Alma had tried harder to convince Bruno to start a family of his own. "You're so good with the ninos," she said, in a rare soft voice. "Look at the kind of papá you could be, amor."
Maybe Bruno would have been a good father, but being a Tio suited him much more.
"Even if I wanted to," Bruno said in that flat, dark tone that Julieta hated. "Even if Mamá was right and I was just being too shy...It wouldn't work. She's blind to it, but who'd want Bad Luck Bruno?" He snorted, seemingly unaware of how his sisters flinched. "Stupid rumours are finally coming in handy, hermanas."
Julieta was his big sister. The eldest. She knew exactly how to snap him out of it.
"It's their loss," she said. Starting to grin, she leaned against him, wrapping her arms around both of her siblings. "Because mi hermanito has such a big heart!"
"Oh no," Bruno muttered as Pepa started to giggle.
"And is so creative!"
"Julieta, stop," Bruno groaned. He tried to push away and stand up, but Pepa helped pin him into the group hug, laughing more than ever.
"So funny and sweet, and look at those beautiful green eyes!"
"Dios mio, Julieta, stop it! We're too old for this!" But Bruno was finally snickering as he tried in vain to push her away.
"Never!" Julieta cupped his face in her hands, kissing both his cheeks and his forehead in rapid succession, finally giving into the urge to giggle herself. She continued as Bruno finally broke into true laughter and she cooed all the while; "Hermano bébé, mi corazón, pequeño! Te amo, mi hermanito!"
"Julieta!" The last of the tension left his narrow shoulders as he laughed against her shoulder. "You're impossible."
"Ay, we're all impossible if you believe Mamá," Pepa said with a wave of her hand. She was grinning broadly, a rainbow above her head. "And our teachers."
"Tch, do you have any idea how many of them expected me to be trouble because of you?" Bruno asked, slapping their sister's arm.
"You were trouble."
"Lies and slander. I never got caught, hermana mayor."
"You don't still think he's the one who stuck chalk in our teacher's erasers, do you?" Julieta sighed.
"He did!" Pepa protested. "How do you still not believe me!?"
"Because it's ridiculous!"
"You know he's a little shit, you just fall for those puppy-eyes every time-"
"If you're gonna fight, take it outside," Bruno said. "I don't want blood on my bed again."
"That was one time!"
"One time too many, Pepi!"
Julieta remembered that particular fight. Pepa had shoved her and Julieta had smacked her face off Bruno's headboard, earning herself a bloody nose. Bruno had only been ten and he'd started screaming at the sight.
Sighing fondly, Julieta pushed Bruno's hair off his face, trying in vain to keep it out of his eyes; it immediately curled back into place.
"You're perfect the way you are," she said gently. "I hope you know that."
Bruno smiled at her, leaning against her shoulder again. "Gracias, Juli," he said.
It wasn't quite an agreement, but she'd take it.

Tía Y/N (Madrigal triplets & Reader) part 2
Tumblr media
Part 1
_____________________
"GET OUT OF MY WAY!"
"I WASN’T EVEN PART OF THIS!"
"FÉLIX, I WANT A DIVORCE!"
"JULIETA, COME BACK HERE!"
“YES JULI, COME BACK!
“NEVER!”
“SHE DOESN’T HIT YOU THAT HARD!”
"BETTER YOU THAN ME!"
“YOU’RE THE ELDEST! YOU HAVE TO SACRIFICE FOR YOUR BABY SIBLINGS”
“I KNOW NO SIBLINGS BUT THE ONE WITH THE CHANCLA BEHIND US, YOU’RE ON YOUR OWN”
“JULIETAAAAAAAA”
Alma tried not to laugh and maintain a serious face, but it was quite difficult when her triplets, all 50 years old with their own families, ran as a soul that the devil carries to avoid what everyone is afraid of: la chancla.
She didn't really know what was happening, it had been a quiet and normal morning, with the whole family taking a day off to enjoy each other's company. She had been embroidering with Mirabel in the living room (she did it more and more often, in an attempt to fix the relationship with her younger granddaughter), when Isabela and Camilo had entered laughing out loud, with Felix and Luisa smiling behind them.
They did not even have time to ask what happened before three green, yellow and blue spots flew next to them, with a very angry Y/N yelling from upstairs.
Alma was no fool, she knew that you, her eldest daughter and the one who reminded her most of Pedro (at least in appearance), had long taken the role that corresponded to her in the life of the triplets. On the one hand, she was happy they had you, but on the other it hurt her heart and guilt consumed her for knowing that she was never really present in her children's life to the point where they had to turn to you for help.
She never knew when Bruno had told you that he didn't want to have his own family, that he was not interested in having a partner of any kind. She wasn't present when Pepa had run to you on the first day of her period, or in the long night talks about crushes when she met Félix. She didn't even know that Julieta liked women too.
Just a few months ago she had discovered that Pepa calmed down when she was caressed, that Bruno liked to play the guitar or that Julieta loved painting and that the beautiful pictures in your room were made by her. In truth, she didn't know her own children. But you did.
You had been with them on every step of the road, even when they took different paths, you had never let them be lost for a long time. A task that you later performed with the grandchildren as well. Isabela and Dolores had learned to walk with you, Luisa always looked up to you especially when she had a problem, Camilo told you the secrets that he could never tell his parents, Antonio still followed you around all day when he was feeling sad and Mirabel...for the girl you were the whole world. There was absolutely nothing that she didn't tell you.
You were the only other family member besides her grandmother who didn't have a gift, you understood what it was to grow up with magical siblings when there was nothing special in you, you understood the looks of people's judgment, murmurs and teasing. That was why you had made your special mission to make the girl protected from all that.
Little by little, you wove a warm blanket of love and humility, you taught her that she did not need to have a gift to be a light, to shine and be a source of comfort. Mirabel could be identical to Julieta in appearance, but she was definitely a coal copy of you in everything else.
It took her too long to realize it, but now Alma understood that the miracle, the magic, was not what united them, that it was only a feature that most of them shared and nothing else. The answer was you. Really, you were the angel who kept the family together.
...And that's why no one should mess with you, unless they wanted all of heaven's strength chasing them. Or that it was one of the triplets. 50 years and they had not yet learned not to make you angry? Or perhaps it was their way of getting your attention when they felt you were abandoning them for the grandchildren.
A silly thought perhaps, but children will always be children, and the age did not matter, they would always need even if it was just a hug from their mother. And you were definitely the triplets' mother, no matter how much it hurt her.
"What do you think happened?" Mirabel whispered, taking her out of her thoughts
"I don't know" Alma smiled "but it must have been bad if your mother is running too"
It was true. Of the three, Julieta was usually the one that was spared from your fury. It was no secret to anyone that she was your favorite sister/daughter/family/person, despite Pepa and Bruno's anger, who would always get offended when her sister avoided your scolding.
"What about Julieta?! She also helped with the joke!" they would said
"Maybe, but she looks cute doing it" you'd shrug "besides, who could be mad at this precious face?" You would add while taking your sister by the cheeks
Your younger siblings would cross their arms and looked at you with an annoyed pout while a black cloud hovered on the redhead, and Julieta simply let you use her cheeks as a squishy and fill her face with kisses (something she took from you and did with her niece, nephews and daughters too), while she smirked at them.
The only times she actually got scolded was when she wasn't taking care of her own health. So either Julieta just wanted to do exercise or whatever the hell they did was really stupid and dangerous.
"YOU'RE ALL SO GROUNDED!!" You growled when you managed to get to the first floor.
You cursed Casita for siding with the triplets and letting them run while it trapped you on the second floor, but that didn't mean they were safe. Nope, there was no escape.
"What happened, mija?" Alma asked you walking up to you
"Your mocosos share the same fried brain cell and unfortunately for them, it wasn't Julieta's turn to have It" you growled
Your mother laughed and rolled her eyes fondly. She knew that you loved your siblings more than anything and that any insult you might have for them would never come out of the heart, just from a motherly anger, and there was something she could think that this was about.
"Did they try to test Julieta's gift with poisoned food again?" She asked
"They tried to test my patience" you answered "they used arsenic, mom. ARSENIC!"
Okay, that was new. Alma felt bad for thinking it, but she could have expected something that stupid and irresponsible from Pepa and Bruno, but Julieta? She knew better than that, she wasn't a silly girl who didn't know what arsenic could do. She must have been really desperate to get your attention if she let her siblings drag her into that.
"How are they even alive?" She gasped
"Félix caught them before they could even finish the empanadas and ran to tell me" you sighed "and I'm glad he did"
"Of course, I don't want to thinking what could have happened to them"
"And because now I can kill them myself"
Alma looked at you for a moment. You were frowning and looked ready to hit whoever stood in front of you, but she was still your mother and she could see the fear in your eyes, and honestly, she felt it too. She followed your gaze to see her younger children still running and she made a note to scold them right after you.
You felt your mom's aura changing and knew she was on your side, so you smirked and took your sandal with a single move, your eyes never leaving your adorably stupid siblings.
"Who do you want me to hit?" You asked, just for fun
Alma thought about it for a second. Julieta would definitely get the worst scolding once they were back for letting the other two convince her to do something stupid, but you both knew it hadn't been her idea. It probably wasn't even Bruno's, but there was someone who had never feared death nor god.
"The middle one" she told you
You nodded and focused on your victim for a moment before your chance flew directly at her. Your smirk never left your face and grew even more when Pepa fell to the ground after it hit her right in the head. Bruno and Julieta didn't even look at their fallen sister, they just ran faster to save their lives.
"AND YOU BETTER BRING IT BACK TO ME, YOUNG LADY" You yelled at the redhead while the whole family laughed behind you.
These three would be the end of you one day, you were sure of that. But god knew you wouldn't have them any other way. Besides, they were your cute little babies, so you guessed that gave them some points too.

Encanto Oc Appreciation week two! Relationships ✨️
@encanto-extended-edition
It's my beloved sunshine trio! I finally drew all of them together (took me long enough I know)
Some more of Armida's relationships summarized below the cut 💛
(I am so terribly bad at summaries Im so sorry- If I could write out the extent of all of their relationships I would- sadly I dont have the time..)
Alma: Her relationship with Alma pre movie is strained- mostly because she fears the older woman. Armida is riddled with anxiety and intrusive thoughts over what her mother in law may think of her, and often fears Alma thinks she got into the way of her daughter's relationship- or that she isn't a "real" madrigal. Basically.. it's a lot of assumptions on how Alma feels about her.. but they are not always truthful.
Armida also tends to disagree with Alma's ways. But between her being passive by nature and having a fear of speaking up, she never says anything. Rather she does her best to help by being there for other family members the best she can be.
Julieta: She was the first of the triplets that Armida became close to. Armida had visited her stand often, and at first Julieta thought the younger woman was accident prone like Agustín.. Over time it became clear that wasn't the case, but Armida was always super polite- despite lying about why she needed to be healed. She always made sure to thank Julieta - not just for healing her but for everything she does. After that it was surprisingly easy for the two of them to talk- and making friends with Julieta naturally got Armida talking to Bruno and Pepa. Although out of the triplets Armida is the least closest to Julieta now, she still feels incredibly safe with the woman. Armida is set trying to lessen Julietas work load. The only issue being- she really can't cook- all she can really do is help with preparation when needed. So instead she settles with going out to town when Julieta needs anything. It's not a lot, but it's something at the very least, and it's appreciated more than Armida will probably ever realize.
Bruno: While obviously Armida is closest with Pepa and Félix, she also shares a really close bond with Bruno. The both of them being pretty bad insomniacs, they bonded a lot over sleepless nights- She'd tell him about the stars if the sky was clear enough and he'd talk about his rat telenovelas or sometimes about his gift- and she'd comfort him. She's a fan of his telenovelas- she loves the rats, and he's actually a really good writer. She offers to help make small costumes and even jokes about background music for suspense. All and all their relationship is very cute- I like to say they are like platonic soulmates. Obviously after Bruno disappears and comes back things aren't the same.. while he was in the walls some nights she'd sit and talk with his door instead, not knowing he was actually listening. Things are a bit awkward when he comes back- Armida having a lot of feelings about him "leaving" when he hurt his family so badly, but in the end she understands his motivation.
Isabela: When Isabela was little, the girl loved getting her hands dirty. so naturally - Armida loved taking the girl out with her in her nature walks, because even at twenty seven she herself still loved to explore. It was something they bonded over, Dolores never really being as interested. But of course fell apart after Isa was pressured into being the golden child. Now they aren't nearly as close, but the both of them still remember digging for worms near Casita, or going looking for different types of plants in the jungle. Sometimes Isa still takes walks- taking the same paths they used to when she was little- when she knows no one is looking for her. It helps clear her head. Of course after the movie the two begin to grow close once more, Isa being quite excited to show off all the new plants to her supportive tía.
Dolores: I think the majority of the fandom has agreed that Dolores is a daddy's girl- and I completely agree. However she of course loves each of her parents. Mida specifically doted a lot on her when she was younger- having been their first child. She'd often sing to her- writing her own little songs for her daughter. After Dolores got her gift it was a nice thing for the young girl to focus on- her mother singing. Unfortunately getting her gift, like with many of the madrigals, forced Dolores to grow up too soon. She's often a bit protective over her mother, due to things she's heard over time. Armida mostly dislikes the fact that Dolores feels the need to protect her- as she should be the one protecting her.
Little bonus- Armida despises Mariano at first. She disliked him when he was with Isa, not because she knew Isa didn't actually want to marry him (though she has suspected maybe something was up, if she had known that straight up I don't imagine she'd be able to keep quiet about it.) She's- in general- overprotective when it comes to any of the kids dating. She does, however, come around to him.
Luisa: With Luisa there isn't too much to say. Like Pepa and Félix, Armida treats each of Julieta's girls like her own kids, and Luisa is no exception. She used to read or sing to her each night as a kid, as she did with all of them. Each grandkid grew up with at least one song or story before bed, and sometimes even as adults or teenagers they still request it. But as with most of the kids, as Luisa grew up she stopped having time for things like that. Still Armida is always ready to sing or read to her once again- no matter how old she is.
Camilo: Camilo and Armida have very similar senses of humor at times, which means they make for quite the pair. The two of them sometimes pull little pranks around the house, nothing too much of course- after all she's still his mother and won't let him get away with everything, but he still gets away with more with her then he does with Félix or Pepa. Though being fifteen he doesn't spend as much time with his mom as he did at one point in his life- he still won't deny he loves her very much.
Mirabel: Pre movie, Armida would try her best to make Mirabel feel just as special as the rest of the family, but being busy and slightly stressed she could only do so much for the girl. Still, she did what she could when she could. She started to teach Mirabel embroidery after her failed gift ceremony to try to distract the little girl and make her feel better, she didn't expect her to pick up on it- but she's very proud of how far she's come. She's quite proud of the young woman in general.
Antonio: the baby of the family, he is absolutely Armida’s weakness. She has the hardest time saying no to him, much like others in the family. The fact that he looks so much like Félix really does not help- luckily Pepa and Félix are a bit better with saying no to him. She worried a lot about him, and his gift. Part of her had hoped that maybe he wouldn't get a gift, since she's seen how sometimes the gifts the family have can really feel more like curses, and he's only five- but luckily he gets a gift he really enjoys, one that she herself had wished for a lot as a child, one that doesn't seem like it will put immense amount of pressure on her baby boy. She enjoys learning what some of his animal friends are thinking, and reading them all to bed. (Sometimes she spoils some of his animals.. she can't help it)
