Tumblr media
PAIRING. cameron mahkent x female! reader
WORD COUNT. 0.3k
WARNINGS. none
NOTES. a small drabble inspired by season four’s end credit scene
Tumblr media
"Get ready, everyone!" Lucas yells, gaining the wedding reception's attention. "The bride is about to throw the bouquet!"
M'gann stands at the center of the dance floor, holding her red and white bouquet.
You watch as Zatanna, Raquel, M'ree, and Donna walk towards the center of the dance floor, whispering among one another excitedly. Even a few of the younger girls join the bouquet toss.
"What's everyone gathering around for?" your boyfriend, Cameron, asks from beside you.
"Well, the bouquet toss is when the bride throws her flowers, and whoever catches the bouquet will be the next one to get married," you explain.
Cameron looks down at you like an excited puppy. "Can I join?"
"You can, but—"
"Yes!" Cameron's fists pump the air before rushing toward the other single ladies.
You shake your head, chuckling in amusement.
"Cameron knows he needs to be single to be with the others, right?" Artemis says, sitting in Cameron's chair.
"Let's just leave him," you say. "Cameron's never been to a wedding before, and I think it's sweet he wants to join in on the festivities. Especially since it's Conner's and M'gann's big day."
"One... Two... Three!"
M'gann throws the bouquet over her shoulder, and you watch as everyone desperately jumps to catch it.
Lucas announces, "And the lucky lady is..."
Now you know your boyfriend is tall, at least taller than the average male, but you didn't expect Cameron to grab the bouquet mid-air.
"Icicle Junior?"
Artemis burst into laughter, and so does the rest of the guests. Conner congratulates his friend, patting Cameron on the back while your boyfriend shows the bouquet off as if it were a trophy.
"Looks like you're next to get married," Artemis teases, nudging you playfully.
You stare at Cameron across the dance floor, catching his blue eyes looking back at you in bliss. He gestures to the bouquet before winking at you.
You lean into your chair, smiling to yourself. "I guess I am."

Okay, sure this scene was played for laughs and I found it both cute and funny

But this scene also implies that people ACTUALLY summon Klarion???? What does he even do? Kill the summoner? Hear their request? Why would anyone want to summon Klarion,,(besides us Klarion fans)I don’t think he would ever willingly help anyone 🤣

Why Rocket
I've been thinking since her arc why Rocket was chosen to represent the League in New Genesis. Did she have good diplomacy skills that we were not aware of?
I thought of other possible League members who could have taken her place. I guess there's Wonder Woman and Aquaman, who regularly act as envoys to their own countries. And then there's Icon, a space lawyer who helped free the League from Rimbor in S2...
And then it clicked. Rocket was Icon's protégé. He could have passed his space law knowledge to her, and the reason why she's so nervous about the summit was because she may not live up to her mentor's standards.
But we don't know that for sure. Her arc didn't tell us that. Basically, I think Rocket's arc could have gone the same way. She could still struggle with understanding Amistad or have a possible romance with Orion, but adding that tiny detail could have made a big difference. After all, part of YJ's recurring themes was how these former sidekick lived up to their mentor superheroes' legacies. It could parallel how Nightwing struggles NOT to be Batman, or how Superboy isn't a full Kryptonian like Superman.
Heck, maybe this could even let us know more of how Raquel and Dick used to date, instead of that being a throwaway line. I haven't read her comics, but I saw online how Rocket was more liberated in her views while Icon was more conservative. Maybe she and Nightwing share the struggle of being different from their mentors, and that's how they bonded.
Personally, I want to see more of Rocket's character, but I feel bad how many YJ fans don't share the same feeling. Maybe if they fleshed out her relationship with Icon then it would make her more cohesive with the Team, and then more people could have cared about her.

Dick giving credit where it’s due by saying Babs is a better hacker ❤️
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Image descriptions: Four screenshots from Young Justice season 4 episode 22, showing a zoomed out view inside Nightwing’s base of operations in Blüdhaven. Between some hanging equipment in front of the camera, we can see Dick and Zatanna sitting in front of a large computer screen. Closed captions show Dick saying, “Ugh! My hacking skills are rusty. Truth is, Barbara’s better at this. So with Oracle on the job, I haven’t exactly stayed current.” End ID.

So, I was wondering (and sorry if it's just me being dumb) but this scene from Young Justice: Targets #6 just makes a lot of questions in my head and people are not talking about it.
Tumblr media
Like, it's the scene where the Justice League threat Lex because Perdita is family. But to intimidate Lex, Kaldur says "Him return" (or would it be "return him"?) in backwards and this sentence it's driving me crazy.
Who is returning?
My first thought is Darkseid. Because he is planning to fight for Earth (cause of the deal he made with Savage) so he technically would be returning to conquer Earth. Besides Darkseid is the only one I can think that would make Lex Luthor worried like that. But then things start to not make sense: why Kaldur said that as a threat to protect Perdita? During season 3 we find out that the Light avoids at any cost harming the families of the heroes in order to avoid the wrath of them, and by this scene in Targets the heroes are somehow aware of that. Does the League know about the deal between Darkseid and the Light or anything about his plans and him? Cause they have an idea about the anti-life equation and it's danger and are also involved in the new gods thing, but do they know about what actually is coming for them? Also how does this even explain why they shouldn't harm Perdita again? Like do not hurt her or Darkseid will come to get you?
Unless they are talking about another person. And that's where my brain fails, I can't think of anyone that would make Lex or the Light scared or worried about. There's also the option of it being "Return him". But return who to where? Would it be Lex or Savage or anyone in the Light? And to where??? It could also be a secret code to something that we don't know yet.
Considering that we don't even know if we're going to have a season 5, this question might be never answered. Or maybe it's really just me missing something and acting dumb.
Anyway, just sharing my thoughts and hoping to hear a few from you.

Young Justice: The Problem With Halo.
I am not going to beat around the bush, I don’t like the character of Halo/Violet in Young Justice. They aren’t the worst character on the show, but the way they’re written is so goddam frustrating.
The writers wanted to have their cake and eat it too when it came to Halo, for you see, they weren’t just the first Muslim character that has been introduced into the show’s universe, but they’re also non binary.
Now this raises a lot of problems, as Halo’s faith never really comes into play during Season Three, they’re Muslim in appearance only. It also doesn’t help that Halo even states that they’re not Muslim in the episode “Early Warning” but they still continue to wear a hijab because.....reasons.
To the writers’ credit, they do try to address this issue in Season Four, by giving Halo their own subplot in which they try to learn more about Islam, but like most things in Season Four, it never really goes anywhere. As Khalid pretty much takes over as the newest Muslim member of the team during Zatana’s arc and Halo is just kinda left with nothing to do.
That is until the most recent episode, in which the writers basically told everyone that rightfully criticized Halo and Harper’s interaction in Season Three to go fuck themselves, because Halo and Harper is now the endgame.
I fucking hate Harper Row, she really is the perfect example of how not to properly portray a bisexual character in media. And the recent episode really made her come off as an entitled brat, which I don’t think was the intention because the writers clearly want the viewers to root for Halo and Violet getting together by the end of the episode.
But to make a long story short, I personally feel like Halo could have been written a lot better as a character had the writers had a clear idea of what they wanted them to be from the beginning. Instead of just mashing various ideas together and expecting to be praised for surface level representation.
