Yeah, the FNAF fangame community is pretty toxic. I don’t really talk to anybody in there anymore with the intent of being their friend unless they so choose to pursue something healthy with me. Which is rare. Because a lot of them are very keen on leaking stuff and doxxing people. Abusing minors and other stuff. I mostly stay on the sidelines and help with people who need a 2D artist, then I disappear again.

I, myself, have been verbally assaulted and betrayed by two of it’s members I once considered friends.

I remain content with my silence, and it seems with what’s come to light recently, I was right to set boundaries and keep my distance from this community. Very disappointed and very disgusted to see that people are still going behind others’ backs and tearing apart their own friendships. I am sick of people not taking responsibility until their career is at stake.

I know nobody from simblr follows me anymore, but I'll never forget how little reblogging or posting I am seeing about Palestine from these... for lack of a better term, CC-JWs (custom content justice warriors). like people sent me DEATH THREATS because I think creators should be able to sell their own labor. people organized dumbass protest movements and signed EA petitions so the corporation would bully amateur creators into releasing their digital throw pillows for the general public. people got HEATED and they were making aaaall sorts of social justice pleas, about the PRINCIPAL of it all and yaddya yaddya yaddya

and where is this energy now? for 20,000 slaughtered civilians in the most densely populated stretch of land in the world? at the hands of a rogue fascist state? nowhere? oh okay. I mean I'm not surprised that white people that think oppression is paywalled digital rugs and bookcases don't give a fuck about like, actual material oppression but it's just so... idek. it's really not funny, like I actually wish these people had a spine or an internal moral compass and would give as much of a fuck about murdered Palestinian people as they do about stealing custom content from paywalled creators.

but since that's not happening anytime soon, I can at least know I was right about all these people.

there is not some particular level of suffering you need to reach in order to ‘deserve’ accommodations btw. especially if those adaptations are simple free things like sitting down while brushing your teeth or using extra cushions to support your posture. like, if something like that improves your life by even 1% then you should do it. you’ve probably been made to feel like these little lifestyle changes are off limits to you if you can’t demonstrate your suffering first, but a lot of the time it is actually no one else’s business.

unfortunately no matter how much you suffer, it’s pretty unlikely that anybody will ever grant you formal permission to do these things. the world is ableist and nonsensical. even the most severely disabled people are often made to feel ashamed for adapting to their own needs. there is no level of suffering where you’ll finally feel worthy of proper accommodation. and there is no virtue in toughing it out. so in my humble opinion you should just go for it right now immediately

#also if you feel consistently ashamed or guilty for small adaptations like this - YOU ARE NOT BROKEN and you are not stupid for it #you have been conditioned to feel awful for meeting ur own needs. that doesn’t mean u should deny yourself or that u don’t deserve relief.#it only means that you might benefit from greeting your shame with love and non judgement #ur shame at accommodating urself is an adaptation. it was ur brain trying to reconcile & make sense of why people were treating u badly #txt #disability #internalized ableism

Rarely do I have to get serious about this, but every once in a while someone with this mindset interacts with me, and a hive follows.

I will block you if you're invested into H*rry P*tter/The M*rauders and adjacent content; anything related to, supported by, or sponsoring JKR. I don't believe there's death of author in media where the author directly sponsors, platforms, and supports bills, campaigns, and overall practically applied ideologies that harm my (trans) community.

The biggest saving grace I feel I've done is to get into death positivity, to learn to appreciate death. It's definitely not going to help for many, but I have found that not stigmatizing my own interest and desire for death has greatly helped. Being able to interact with death not as a punishment, but as a way to express humanity has been truly what has made me feel more human. I no longer want to feel ashamed of this aspect of myself, and it's made me want to live. Death has done unto me life.
